This damn woman, she doesn’t even know who’s holding her when she’s drunk!
Brendon swore that if she mentioned someone else’s name, he would… bite her to death!
Ranita smiled foolishly and said, “I’m not stupid. How could I not know who you are? You’re Brendon…”
Thud!
Ranita finished speaking and hit his chest with her head. Her hands slipped down to wrap around the man’s lean waist.
The familiar warmth kept coming, making the alcohol on her body slightly dizzy. Ranita felt a blank in her mind and couldn’t think of anything.
“Ranita…” Brendon sighed softly in her ear. “Let me take you to rest.”
Ranita’s steps were a bit unsteady, and her ears were filled with noise, accompanied by the scent of light grapefruit perfume from the person beside her.
Ranita’s mind went blank, and she suddenly stopped, looking up at Brendon and biting his chin!
“Ranita!” Brendon winced in pain but didn’t let go. “Don’t bite!”
With so many people around, Brendon didn’t want to attract attention. He held onto the woman and quickened his pace, heading back to his private booth.
The door closed, shutting out the noise.
Brendon held her waist with both arms and looked down at her. “Ranita, are you drunk?”
“You’re the one who’s drunk! Your whole family is drunk!” Ranita let out a low laugh from her throat and rubbed her head against his neck.
“Brendon… the scent on you is truly captivating,” Ranita murmured softly, but Brendon’s ears were sharp, and he heard her clearly.
Did Ranita say she was captivated by the scent on him?
The word “captivated” was filled with strong implications. Brendon’s Adam’s apple rolled as he pinched her chin with his fingers and asked, “Ranita, do you… perhaps have some feelings for me too?”
“Feelings? Who do I have feelings for?” Ranita’s mind was a mess. She felt a bit hot, with the alcohol spreading throughout her body, especially in her brain and back. It was so hot that she felt like plunging into ice water.
Ranita tugged at her neckline, and her fair skin seemed like a snowflake falling into the light. Brendon’s breathing quickened, and his heated gaze fell on her neck.
Brendon wanted to kiss her, but he held back.
“Don’t you know who I am?”
“Yes… I know… you’re Brendon… my ex-husband…” Ranita nodded like a little chicken pecking at food. “Do I like my ex-husband? Yes, I do…”
As she looked up, she caught a glimpse of the man’s sexy and prominent Adam’s apple. With a hint of resentment, she bit down on it.
Brendon froze, not moving at all.
She liked Brendon, liked him to no end.
“Ranita, you little puppy!” A low voice sounded in her ears. Her face was held, and her lips were sealed.
Intoxicated by the lingering scent of alcohol, a strong chemical reaction sparked between their lips, entwining them.
Ranita was kissed breathless. She held onto the man’s arm tightly, emitting kitten-like whimpering sounds.
“Don’t… kiss me…” Ranita’s mind was dizzy, wanting to stop him, but her fingers weakly climbed up the man’s neck before being pulled down and firmly held by Brendon.
Brendon was skilled in kissing.
At first, he was eager and a bit too intense, making Ranita uncomfortable. But after she protested, he became gentler, focusing diligently as if afraid the ice cream in his mouth would melt away, taking every opportunity to savor the sweetness.
When the kiss ended, Ranita found herself sitting on Brendon’s lap.
The atmosphere was ambiguous.
Ranita’s mind was muddled, and she looked at Brendon, her mind heating up as she asked, “Where’s George… where did he go?”
