Brendon gritted his teeth and made a call to Allen before getting back to Ranita. “Noah’s Bar,” he said.
Noah’s Bar was on Hocrye Road.
Ranita hadn’t been there in years, and the changes were so significant that she almost couldn’t find her way around.
When Ranita arrived, she gave her name and was taken to the VIP seats on the second floor. Of course, it was all thanks to Allen’s help that they got those seats. Ranita even sent him an adorable emoji as a thank you.
Young men and women danced passionately on the dance floor under DJ’s guidance. It was too loud for Ranita, but George loved it.
He leaned against the railing, sipping his cocktail while saying, “Cynthia, your place is always lively.”
“You like it?”
“I really appreciate you doing this for me! By the way,” George paused before looking at Ranita intently. “I heard from Brown that you have a little one at home? Is that why you rejected me earlier?”
It was partly because of that reason.
“Not really! Mainly because we didn’t click!” Ranita raised her glass towards him as she took a sip of her cocktail which had a light taste making it easy to drink. She finished half of it in one gulp.
“Hahaha! Okay then! You’re honest indeed. No wonder Brown said you’re hard to get!” George laughed heartily before asking again, “Have you ever met someone who made your heart skip a beat?”
“Of course I have! Otherwise how would I have my son?”
“That makes sense!” George looked over at an attractive woman dancing in front of them, “Cynthia, I just spotted a beautiful lady; excuse me while I go say hello.”
Ranita sat alone, drinking three or four glasses before George returned, looking a bit dejected. He said, “The beauties here are just as difficult to handle as you!”
Ranita smiled and remained silent.
After a few drinks, the corners of the woman’s eyes and cheeks turned slightly red. When she smiled, she exuded charm and seductiveness.
“Cynthia, let’s go dance!” George’s heart was burning with desire as he pulled Ranita to the dance floor.
The music was loud, and Ranita’s ears were hurting from the noise.
However, the atmosphere was electric, and the after-effects of the cocktails Ranita had consumed started to kick in. She felt a bit dizzy and her mind felt a bit out of control.
After dancing for a while, Ranita stumbled, and in a daze, someone reached out and held her waist.
Ranita furrowed her brows, about to scold the person, but when she looked up, she met a pair of familiar eyes.
“Brendon…” Ranita looked at him in confusion. “What are you doing here?”
Her voice was drowned out by the music.
Seeing that Brendon didn’t react, Ranita leaned closer, tiptoed, and pressed her ear against his, shouting, “What are you doing here?”
Ranita’s cocktail was light when she drank it, but its effects were stronger than usual. Now, the alcohol rushed to her brain, making it difficult for her to think.
As he spoke in her ear, Brendon felt a tingling sensation on his skin. He pulled her closer, pressing her against his chest, and his lips brushed against her ear.
His breath entered her ear, and Ranita wanted to hide, but Brendon held her tightly. She heard a deep voice say, “How much have you had to drink?”
“Not much!” Ranita shook her head and then extended her fingers to count obediently. “One, two, three… four…”
“Let’s go somewhere else to talk!” Another deep and pleasing voice echoed in Ranita’s ear. It sounded so pleasant that it stirred her thoughts. She reached out and placed her hand on the man’s neck, tilting her face up, shaking her head. “No, I want to dance here!”
Being held by the neck, Brendon’s body stiffened for a moment. His narrow eyes stared intently at Ranita as he pursed his lips. “Do you know who I am?”
