Benedict’s surgery was a success. Thanks to the excellent post-operative care, Benedict’s mind and body recovered well. Ranita tried to avoid Chole and Brendon by visiting Benedict early in the morning or late at night.
For a few days, she enjoyed this peaceful routine until her luck ran out. One day when she came to visit Benedict, Shannon was waiting for her outside the elevator.
“Ranita! I’ve been waiting for you for days! Can we talk?” Shannon spoke softly with a delicate voice.
“I don’t think so. Are you going to stop me from leaving?” Ranita sneered. “Shannon, there’s nothing between us worth talking about.”
Shannon immediately looked hurt and teary-eyed. “Ranita…”
“Stop trying to manipulate me! I haven’t forgotten what you did four years ago or what you did to my son,” Ranita said coldly. “So don’t pretend like everything is okay between us.”
Shannon looked at Ranita with pleading eyes and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about… Did you misunderstand me?”
“If there is evidence of your innocence, show it to me; otherwise, stop slandering me without proof!” Ranita stared at her calmly but inside she was boiling with anger.
She knew one day she would send Shannon straight into prison!
“Ranita, I am a public figure, and your accusations could put me in a difficult situation. So, it’s better not to speak recklessly in the future.” Shannon bit her lip, pretending to be kind.
Of course, Shannon hated Ranita to the core.
She heard everything that day when Brendon said he wouldn’t marry Shannon and wanted to remarry Ranita! She heard it loud and clear…
“Heh!” Ranita pursed her lips and walked away.
There was nothing for her to say to Shannon. The key issue was that Ranita was afraid she wouldn’t be able to control herself from getting physical.
But if she laid a hand on Shannon, she would end up being the loser. Shannon was capable of making a big fuss about it!
“Ranita… wait a moment…” Shannon shamelessly blocked her path. “I actually have something to discuss with you!”
Ranita felt irritated. She wanted to leave, but she couldn’t. She only heard Shannon’s soft and gentle voice saying, “I am here to request something from you. You know about Brendon’s relationship with me, and we are about to get married. So, I hope you can keep your distance from him.”
“As long as you agree, feel free to state your conditions.”
Ranita found it extremely laughable.
She couldn’t fathom Brendon’s thoughts, and she couldn’t understand why Shannon was so insane. Four years ago, Shannon conspired with Turner to kidnap her, forcing her to leave the country with her child. And recently, she instigated Julia to target her son…
“Shannon, is your face made of marble?” Ranita said coldly. Shannon looked aggrieved, “Ranita, are you insulting me for being shameless? But… I am currently Brendon’s fiancée, so my request should be reasonable, right?”
“Do you want to be the third person in our relationship?”
Ranita suddenly felt a bit regretful. Why didn’t she have a cup of coffee or something in her hand? It would have been so satisfying to pour it on Shannon!
