**FALLON**
Thankfully, I was able to reach the family doctor and he gracefully informed me that my wife had just been taken to the hospital apparently the baby was about to be born prematurely and that was gonna be a very big problem. I’ve heard stories of birth mothers dying while giving birth.
I might never be able to love Ava but I wouldn’t want her to loose her life for my mistake. I quickly put a call through to my best private detective to help Annabelle while I go see Ava quickly. I gave him as much details as I could.
I placed my hands in my pockets as I feeling of extreme sadness hit me. It felt weird and for a second I stood still.
I shook my head vigorously managing to regain my composure before getting into my car speeding off.
**RICHARD**
I held the case file in my hands. They were literally shaking. I was about to go in and question the woman whom I’m in love with. I wonder how she’s is. Annabelle doesn’t deserve any of this. All she’s ever was to be successful and be happy. The worse part is that there’s nothing I can do. My hands are fucking tied.
I twisted the knob and walked in. Her lawyer sat beside her and across two officers were seated.
Her head was bowed, her hands cuffed. My heart broke at the sight.
“Get those cuffs off her.”
I demanded facing the guard. He nodded his head getting his keys out.
“I’m so sorry.”
I apologized moving to seat. She gave a small nod.
“I have to ask you some questions. I promise I’ll do my best to help you Annabelle.”
I barely kept a lid on my self control forcing me not to reach out to take her hand .
“The police received a tip and your house was searched, we found a phone belonging to Nelson quint, can you explain?”
“I have no idea how it got there.”
She replied clearing her throat.
“We also found a half torn document for a paternity test.”
“I found it.”
“Found it?”
“Yes. Near the stairs.”
“And why didn’t you turn it in.”
The officer spoke up.
“I….”
She stuttered.
“You seriously want us to believe you have no idea the phone was there but kept the document for absolutely no reason?”
The other officer added.
“My client would not answer any more questions.”
“We have no more questions here. We’ll see her in court.”
My heart skipped a beat at those words. If the case gets to court, there’s a ninety percent chance Annabelle would be convicted.
“Richard…”
She gasped as the guard placed the cuffs back on leading her out. At this point, I couldn’t move.

**FALLON**
I ignored the stares the nurses were giving me. I rushed to the nursery. According to her, Ava had already given birth. The baby was premature but definately healthy. Ava had just woken up as well.
“205.”
I murmured reaching the door twisting it open.
“My baby boy. My sweet baby boy. What’s wrong nurse why are you staring at him like that?”
I heard Ava’s strained voice the moment I stepped in. The nurse held the dark skinned boy In her arms. Her gaze went back and forth between Ava and I.
Time literally stood still as the realization hit me hard. I had to check my skin just to be sure. I was light as a feather. Ava was lighter. It was scientifically impossible for us to have a dark skinned baby.
“The child isn’t mine.”
I whispered.
