Chapter 439 Rose

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Ranita felt guilty after doing something wrong.
Jedidiah saw her like this and wanted to scold her, but he couldn’t find the right words. He sighed and said, “Ranita, what’s done is done. I don’t want to say much about it.”
“I understand, brother,” Ranita said with determination. “I will stay away from him completely from now on. You can trust me!”
“That’s good,” Jedidiah paused for two seconds before suddenly saying, “Mom and Dad want you to come back home. They want to see you.”
When the Bowman family was mentioned, Ranita felt really guilty.
“I…”
“Ranita, we’ll take care of things with Chole over there. After so many years, don’t you miss them?” Jedidiah’s words made Ranita sink into thought even more.
“Ranita, Mom and Dad are getting old,” he paused again before continuing. “If you don’t go back now that they know about Ayaan’s existence… they’ll come find you themselves.”
Ranita agreed but needed to finish her work in Berlin first.
Jedidiah came by just to see her and his nephew briefly before rushing off for his flight.
Ranita changed hotels again and blocked Brendon’s number so she could focus on work.
After Brendon made multiple unsuccessful phone calls, he realized belatedly that he seemed to have been blocked. He felt extremely frustrated and his face turned gloomy. To make matters worse, Allen was happily holding his phone.
“What are you looking at?” Brendon asked.
“Uh… I’m picking roses for Ranita…” Allen started to say, but before he could finish his sentence, Brendon snatched the phone away. Brendon glanced at the phone and then at Allen. “I’m borrowing your phone!”
“But… Brendon … this is mine!” Allen was speechless. How could this person be like this!
“I’ll buy you a new one!”
Was buying a phone the issue here? It was about the contacts stored on it!
“But, Brendon …”
“No buts!” Brendon paused and instructed Caleb, “Is the plane ticket ready? You and Allen go back first. I’ll return in a couple of days.”
Allen not only lost his phone but was also directly sent back to their home country.
Ranita had been busy with work these past two days, to the point of exhaustion. She finally completed her tasks, and she could leave Berlin as early as tomorrow. Ranita didn’t deliberately inquire about anything, but she knew Allen would inform her of Brendon’s whereabouts.
Brendon was still in Berlin and hadn’t returned home.
As soon as she arrived back at the hotel, the front desk informed her that there were flowers to be received. Ranita immediately took a photo and asked Allen, “Allen, did you send these again?”
“The flowers are very beautiful, and I really like them. Thank you!”
Usually, Allen would reply instantly, but this time, Ranita waited for a while and received no response. She puzzled over it for a few seconds but didn’t dwell on it and went back to her room with the flowers.
Rubbing her sore neck, Ranita filled the bathtub with hot water.
It had been two days since that passionate encounter, and the bruises on her body had turned darker. Ranita looked at herself in the mirror, feeling a mix of emotions.
Ranita could handle everything efficiently, except when it came to Brendon…
“Stop thinking about it, stop thinking!” Ranita immersed herself in the hot bath, intending to clear her mind for a while. However, just as she thought that, her phone rang. It was a message from Allen.
“No need to thank me. It’s enough that you like them.” The tone of the message was oddly rigid.
“Don’t buy anymore. I’m leaving Berlin tomorrow.” Ranita had just sent the message when she received a reply: “Leaving Berlin? Where are you going?”
