It was not about being submissive, but about charmingly acting spoiled.
Ranita rarely saw Brendon so tender, as if he had suddenly shed his cold exterior and revealed an irresistible softness.
“Ranita…” Brendon held her tightly, his chin resting on her shoulder. His stiff body seemed to have reached its limit.
Ranita’s mind was dizzy and she couldn’t think anymore.
What should she do?
Logic told her to turn around and leave. She shouldn’t continue to entangle herself with Brendon. Her retreat would only prove her weakness and humility.
But love is irrational.
The desire buried deep in her heart took root and grew greedily into a towering tree that occupied all of her soul, making her compromise, making her retreat.
Their kiss became more intense.

As the passion subsided, Brendon held onto Ranita calmly as they both fell asleep. But Ranita couldn’t sleep at all; she was exhausted and weak all over but didn’t stay for long. She got up despite feeling uncomfortable with what just happened between them.
The room was in chaos.
Her ears burned with embarrassment; she didn’t dare look around too much before quickly putting on clothes then rushing out of the hotel room.
All Ranita wanted now was a hot shower.
When she left the hotel, Ranita realized it was almost dawn! While driving, Ranita fumbled for her phone, but it had run out of battery and shut down. She could imagine that Jedidiah and the others must have gone crazy looking for her!
Ranita’s mind was a mess as she drove back to the hotel. She threw her things down and went straight into the bathroom. It wasn’t until the hot water poured down on her that she began to regain some clarity.
She… actually spent the night with Brendon!
Was she out of her mind?!
How could she do such a thing!?
“Ding Ling Ling!” Suddenly, the phone outside rang. Ranita casually rinsed off, wrapped herself in a bathrobe, and answered the call. The phone had just been charged and turned on.
It was Steve on the other end, “Ranita, are you okay? Why haven’t you been answering the phone?”
“I had something urgent last night, so I didn’t go to the hospital. My phone ran out of battery, so it shut down.” Ranita felt relieved. Thankfully, she had informed the nurse when she went out for dinner. Otherwise, just Ayaan alone would have driven her crazy.
“Really? Good to know you’re okay!” Steve breathed a sigh of relief. “Ayaan has already woken up and is reading a book! He’s such a good child who loves studying.”
“By the way, Mr. Bowman wants you to give him a call later.”
Even without Steve’s reminder, as soon as Ranita hung up, she immediately called Jedidiah. As expected, Ranita was scolded and couldn’t say a word.
With work to do and her son still in the hospital, Ranita had a lot on her plate. She barely had time to rest before rushing to the hospital.
Ayaan was fine, and he could be discharged today. Ranita didn’t dare to let him stay in Berlin any longer, so she asked Steve to take the child back to Slovenia.
By the time Jedidiah arrived, hid nephew had already taken a flight with Steve.
“At least let me have a meal with Ayaan before leaving. You really…” Jedidiah said irritably, but still handed a cup of coffee to Ranita thoughtfully.
“I had already decided to go back. I’m wrapping up my work here…” Before she could finish her sentence, Jedidiah cut to the chase and asked, “What about Brendon? What do you plan to do?”
“Take a look at this!” Jedidiah placed a stack of documents on the table and spoke mockingly, “He’s planning to have a second marriage. Stay away from him with Ayaan in the future!”
