“I have to use the restroom. I’ll be right back.”
I didn’t wait for Fallon’s response. I bolted out of my seat towards the restroom and dialed one of my contacts.
After Annabelle’s call, I got worried. Frightened even. It meant the police was on to me which meant I was in serious trouble.
“Hello ma’am.”
“Don’t you dare fuck with me. What did you do!”
“Exactly what you asked me to.”
“If you did then the police wouldn’t be on to me right now. Fix this mess. Call your informant at this station. If I go down I’ll make sure you and your family suffer!”
I threatened before cursing then hanging up. I was back in a terrible mood unable to breath. Richard was good. If he’s on the case, I’m scared of what they might find. I want every loose end tied up.
My phone began ringing once again. I Quickly answered.
” Well.”
I questioned impatiently.
**The police knows about the file. They’ve requested for it but the doctor refused to hand it over without a warrant and that should take about an hour.**
**Good. You have an hour to fix this God damn mess. Offer the doctor money to keep his mouth shut.**
**What if he refuses ma’am.**
**Then make sure he never speaks to another soul again and don’t screw it up!.**
I yelled once again and hung up rubbing my tummy. This is definately not good for my baby.
I tried to calm my nerves before returning back to our table to meet Fallon.
A hour ago, I was the happiest woman in the world and now I have this nagging feeling that with just one mistake, my whole world may come crashing down.
**Annabelle**
Richard paced around on the call with the judge trying to get a warrant for the file. The file that was sent was from the doctor informing him that he couldn’t release anything until the judge issues it.
“Is it done?”
I asked while he hung up.
“Yes.”
He responded tiredly.
“The warrant is ready. I’m going over there now to get the file and hopefully a lead.”
“Can I come along?”
“Why are you so interested in the case anyways?”
“I don’t know. It’s just a feeling besides Fallon isn’t….”
I trailed off as Richard narrowed his eyes at me. He hasn’t asked me yet but I know he definately has his suspicions about the two of us. He might even know we have a past together but I glad he respects my privacy not to pry.
“Let’s go?”
He simply nodded and I led the way out of the precent. There’s something about this case that makes me feel like I’ll have the answer to a lot of burning questions.

We arrived at the hospital with the warrant in Richard’s hands. The aura was dark and I felt chilly.
“I’ll meet you upstairs I’m feeling a little light headed so I’ll take the stairs.”
Richard nodded and got into the elevator while I strolled to the stair case.
Suddenly, a man passed me. I looked away with my breath caught in my throat as the strange man walked away.
After that encounter, I rushed to catch up with Richard’s in the doctor’s office.
By the time I arrived, I met the shock of my life. The doctor laid lifeless on the floor. I held onto the door forcing myself to exhale.
There goes our only lead. Just when I thought we were about to find out the truth, the doctor gets killed. Someone is trying very hard to hide the truth.
From the corner of my eye, I noticed a red light blinking. On a much closer look, I realized it was a CCTV camera.
“Richard….”
I poked him slowly pointing at its direction.
“The killer fled quickly. We can find out who he is and maybe why he killed the doctor.”
Another lead. A big leap this time, I just hope it’s not all in vain.

I received a thumbs up text from my contact putting a wide smile on my face. The doctor has been dealt with and the file has been destroyed. My tracks have been covered. Now, I can focus on finding out who the father of my baby is.
If it’s not Nelson or Fallon, who could it be?
