Ranita’s mind was lost in memories.
Ten years ago, in early summer, she saw Brendon for the first time under the ivy wall at the library and fell in love with him at first sight. From then on, she only had eyes for him.
Ten years ago, in winter, she hugged him for the first time in a frozen lake.
But it was a secret that no one knew about.
“Ranita… what’s wrong?”
“Oh…” Ranita snapped out of her thoughts. “Nothing! What did you say just now?”
“I said if you had met Brendon earlier, maybe Shannon wouldn’t have beaten you to it! You’re beautiful and capable. Shannon isn’t even worthy of carrying your shoes!”
Allen really favored her and Ranita felt a little happy inside.
“Is that so? Thank you for your praise! But actually it’s the opposite. In Brendon’s eyes, I’m not even worthy of carrying Shannon’s shoes! So your hypothesis doesn’t hold up!”
Ranita joked lightly and didn’t seem sad or upset at all. Allen felt relieved, “Ranita, seeing that you’re doing well now puts my mind at ease!”
“Let’s just enjoy our meal without mentioning Shannon. Whenever I think of her I feel annoyed.” Allen didn’t dare mention their upcoming wedding because he was afraid it would upset Ranita.

She went to work part-time at a technology park but got off at the wrong stop and got lost inside! As she walked around aimlessly, she stumbled upon an overturned car on a slope by an artificial lake covered with thin ice…
As Ranita rushed over, she only saw a man sinking into the water. Without hesitation, she went over and pulled him out. It was only after she rescued him that she realized she knew the person.
At that time, she was soaking wet and shivering from the cold. Fortunately, the park management staff noticed in time and sent someone to wait for the ambulance while taking her to change into dry clothes.

“Brendon is so good. Why did he end up with Shannon?” Allen vented his cynicism and angrily picked up his wine glass, downing half of it.
