“Brendon! Can we talk this out like adults?” Ranita never intended to argue with Brendon, but her emotions got the best of her. “I won’t let you take Ayaan away from me!”
“Ranita!” Brendon held onto her shoulders. “I never said I was going to take Ayaan away! Let’s sit down and discuss this properly, come up with a plan.”
Ranita furrowed her brows, sticking to her guns. “Brendon, can’t you just act like you’ve never seen Ayaan before?”
“I can’t do that! Ranita, he’s my child.” Brendon didn’t want to argue with Ranita either but it seemed that their relationship revolved around this child and he wasn’t going to give up on him.
Just then the door opened.
Jedidiah came out looking angry. “What are you two arguing about at the door?!”
“Aren’t you afraid he will hear?!” Jedidiah glared at Brendon. “Mr. Stuart, is there something I can help you with? If not, please leave as there’s nothing here for you.”
Jedidiah was chasing him off.
Brendon felt even more indignant now and gritted his teeth, “I’m Ayaan’s father so it’s only natural for me to come see him; but Mr. Bowman… what right do you have saying these things here?”
“I think it’s better not to bother you, Mr. Bowman. I will take care of my own child!” Brendon’s words really added fuel to the fire, infuriating Jedidiah’s gentle personality to the point where he grabbed Brendon’s collar, “Brendon, if you dare say another word, I’ll beat you to death!”
Brendon pushed Jedidiah’s hand away and sneered, “Mr. Bowman, what did I say wrong? Isn’t Ayaan my son?”
“You bastard!” Jedidiah was so angry that he wanted to throw a punch.
“Jedidiah! Brendon! Stop it!” Ranita quickly stepped in to separate them, “This is a hospital, a place for healing and saving lives, not for fighting!”
Ranita’s head throbbed with pain.
“Ranita, you’re even taking his side!” Brendon was so angry, he was about to explode.
Not only was he angry, but he also felt extremely wronged.
Jedidiah sneered, “I’m her brother. If she doesn’t support me, should she support you? Mr. Stuart, let me say it again, since you let Ranita give birth to the child alone, then this child has nothing to do with you! Now disappear from my sight immediately!”
Jedidiah’s gentle nature had been provoked into anger. Ranita didn’t know what to do. “Jedidiah! Can you just keep quiet for a moment?”
At this moment, Ranita was truly grateful that Dylan wasn’t there. If Dylan were present, it would have turned into a chaotic brawl among the three of them!
“Ranita, are you standing on his side?” Jedidiah was driven mad, “You stay far away from this bastard!”
This time, Brendon raised an eyebrow and sneered, saying, “Is it not allowed? I am her husband, the father of her child. Why can’t she stand on my side…”
Huh?
Jedidiah thought he misheard.
“What did you say? Whose husband are you claiming to be!?” Jedidiah looked at Brendon in shock, “If you dare say another word, I’ll really beat you to death!”
What’s wrong with this guy? He actually wants his sister to be his wife?
“Ayaan is our Bowman family’s child. His name is Ayaan Bowman! You’re dreaming!” Jedidiah exclaimed.
So Ayaan’s ‘Bowman’ actually belonged to Jedidiah? Brendon’s heart felt like it had been thrown into molten lava, burned to ashes, and anger continued to surge.
Seeing that things were about to spiral out of control, Ranita walked over and grabbed both of them, saying, “Enough of this!”
“Brendon, leave immediately!”
Brendon looked at Ranita’s cold and stern face and kicked the wall in frustration!
