Chapter 41

**Ava**
-Three Weeks Later.
I paced around the living room hurridely waiting for his call. I couldn’t keep up with the facade. I just needed to know it was done and dealt with so we could all move on with our lives. Who knew how expensive and hard it was to get rid of a dead body.
**FLASHBACK**
The piece of paper slipped from my grip falling to the floor. There must be a mistake somewhere. There has to be. This isn’t freaking possible. The test result showed that neither Nelson nor Fallon was the father of my baby and it threw me off balance. I didn’t even know how possible that was.
“You slut!”
He said after reading it’s contents.
“Don’t you fucking dare Nelson.”
“Oh, I’ll dare. You had me fooled that the child was for your husband and I had my suspicions that it belonged to me but who would’ve imagined it was neither of us. That only proves you’re the biggest slut I’ve seen.”
I raised my hands to hit him but he held them none the less.
“Well, now that I know I have no business with you or that bastard in your womb I’ll make sure everyone knows as well. You’ll loose everything. Your husband, your riches. I’ll bring you down so hard.”
He threatened and I knew he meant every word.
“Goodbye Ava.”
He spat out and turned to walk away. I couldn’t let him proceed with his plans. He’ll ruin everything. He’ll destroy me. I reached into my purse grabbing my gun out. I kept one ever since the attacks. I cocked it pointing it straight at him.
“Ava. Don’t. Calm….”
I cut him shut pulling the trigger firing straight into his chest. I shrieked in shock at what I just yet felt no remorse. He was about to destroy me and everything I’ve worked so hard for. He fell to the ground gasping for air.
“No one messes with me bastard.”
I spat out as he drawled out his last breath. My breath was shaky standing over a dead man’s body. I had just committed murder in the first degree.
I raked my hands through my hair tucking the gun back into my purse. Nelson laid on the floor bleeding out. I gasped for air but couldn’t even think straight.
Then, I remembered a friend who deals with making things disappear. I didn’t think of the consequences I just dialed his number.
**I need your help. It’s urgent.**
I spoke into the phone, my voice laced with desperation.
**PRESENT TIME**
My ringtone jolted me out of my thoughts. I answered immediately.
**It’s done ma’am.
He announced and hung up. I could breath properly for the first time in three weeks. Apparently, they had to hide the body and make it look like a robbery went wrong where the kidnappers dumped the body. They cleared everything including the murder weapon. It cost a lot but it was worth it. I was in the clear and now no one would ever find out my secret. No one and if anyone ever tries to find out, I’ll take care of it just like Nelson.
**Annabelle**
“Hi beautiful.”
A farmilar voice greeted as I stepped into my company. Well it isn’t mine yet because construction is still on going but I own it. I smiled at the security man.
“Careful Tod. I might just steal you from your wife.”
I joked earning a smile from him.
“Have a lovely day.”
“I will.”
I responded grinning. The air was fresher, I was getting everything I wanted out of life. What more could I wish for to be happy? I’m just so fulfilled and I want this feeling to last a life time.
**RICHARD:
Dinner?
A text from Richard came in. I tried to reply but I was interrupted.
“Morning.”
His cool voice greeted making me raise my head up.
“Hi.”
I responded staring at Fallon who handed me a coffee.
*FLASHBACK*
“Yes.”
I responded letting my brain lead this time. He had the money and the means to pull md out of the pit I was in. It’ll be strictly business and nothing more. In a way I get to fulfill my long time plan of using him exactly the way he had used me.
“To new beginnings.”
He proposed a toast getting a bottle of wine from under our table.
“To new beginnings.”
I repeated sipping the filled glass of wine.
*PRESENT TIME*
“Let’s get to work.”
I said sounding as serious as I can be.

The project was moving fast and in a couple of months I could call this place my own.
“I would like to discuss something with you Annabelle?”
“Is it about the merger or the workers?”
“No, it’s important.”
He said sternly. I didn’t oppose and watch him lead the way to his office.
I purposely sat across him and with the look on his face, he clearly took notice.
“What is it Fallon?”
I asked keeping my voice normal.
“It’s just…”
“Baby!”
Ava announced her arrival bursting through the door beaming like she won a lottery. I’ve never seen someone so happy. I wonder what’s making her jittery. I glanced at her baby bump which was more than just a bump now.
Sighing, I got out my phone and averted my eyes from the kissing couple sending a text to Richard to confirm our dinner date.
I had a feeling my journey was just beginning.
