“Ahem!” Ranita kicked Allen secretly, and he snapped back to attention. Just then, someone knocked on the door.
“Judi, Mr. Stuart is here!”
Suddenly, Ranita locked eyes with Brendon.
Their gaze met and Ranita felt embarrassed while Brendon’s eyes were filled with anger.
The atmosphere cooled down instantly.
“Why are you here? I thought you were busy,” Allen said in surprise as he had been thinking about how to hide things from Brendon before his arrival. But his plan was not ready yet…
Brendon gave Allen a cold look and sat down with an icy demeanor. “Business is important.”
During the break, Brendon asked without hesitation: “Cynthia, can you please make me a cup of coffee?”
Ranita didn’t say anything but quickly went to the pantry to make coffee.
Judi leaned over curiously, “Do you know Mr. Stuart? He kept looking at you during the meeting.”
“Yes,” replied Ranita as she made coffee for them both. “He used to be my boss in Slioclia.”
“Wow!” Judi shrugged her shoulders. “That sounds awkward!”
“It is,” agreed Ranita as she handed her a cup of coffee.
“Thanks for your help! I have to go now,” said Judi before leaving them alone again in the room together.
As soon as Judi left, Ranita continued making another cup of coffee when suddenly she heard a voice behind her say, “Ranita!”
She jumped when she saw it was Brendon standing there behind her!
“What are you doing here?” She asked nervously.
Brendon leaned against the door, his eyes coldly fixed on her. This wicked woman actually called him awkward? He was furious!
“Hehe! Didn’t expect Berlin to be quite small, huh?” Pausing for a moment, Brendon’s voice was cold as he snorted, “Changing your stance, going back on your word!”
Ranita kept a clear conscience. It didn’t bother her, but Ayaan… She didn’t want Brendon to know about Ayaan’s existence.
“I don’t understand your meaning.”
“Don’t understand?” Brendon smirked, his handsome features tinged with sarcasm. “Ranita, after agreeing to treat me a dinner, you blocked me just to change hotels?”
“The hotel was booked by the company. If they want me to change, should I not change?” Pausing, Ranita replied with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “As for blocking… my contacts list is full lately, so I had to put less important ones aside.”
This woman! Still so petty!
“Is my coffee ready?”
Ranita handed over the scalding coffee without a word and returned to the meeting room.
Brendon watched her walk away, angrily drinking the coffee. The next moment, he almost spat it out because it was too hot! Brendon hurriedly caught up with her, grumbling with frustration, “Is this so hot that you want to scald me?”
Ranita chuckled inside.
Scalding would be nice!
“Is the coffee not made with hot water? Mr. Stuart, don’t you want to try drinking it directly at the temperature? Blame me?” Ranita walked briskly, completely disregarding him.
Brendon was infuriated.
But when he reached the door, he overheard Ranita asking Allen softly where he lived and when he was leaving Berlin. If he had time, did he want to go out for a meal together?
Brendon became even angrier!
“Allen! So free, chatting with someone else’s translator?” Brendon slammed the coffee cup down heavily, staring at his younger cousin with eyes as sharp as knives.
Allen was frightened by the killing intent, quickly giving a signal to Ranita. She handed him a business card, saying, “I’ll be over there. Have some water too.”
