Ayaan was just a kid, exhausted from all the running around. He fell asleep without even realizing it.
Ranita tried to wake him up for a while, but eventually had to pick him up and carry him back to their hotel room. She carefully tucked him in and gazed at his sleeping form.
Ayaan looked more like Ranita when he was born, but as he grew older, he started resembling his father more and more. Every time she looked at him, Ranita felt a sense of confusion.
Thinking about that man made her feel restless.
The only way to ease her worries was by making money. So after settling Ayaan down, she threw herself into work until her assistant arrived. Once work was done for the day, Ranita planned on going back home to have dinner with her son. But Brown dragged her to a bar instead.
“Brown, why did you bring me here with Judi?” Ranita asked incredulously. “Ayaan is waiting for me at home! I need to go back!”
“Cynthia! Don’t be so cruel! Judi only came because you were coming too! Can’t you stay for just ten minutes? You can make an excuse and leave after ten minutes!” Brown pleaded with her as she begrudgingly drank half of a cocktail.
“Next round’s on me!”
“Thanks Cynthia! You’re always my savior!” Brown said as he draped his arm over Ranita’s shoulder and whispered in her ear.
Ranita pushed him away. “I think enemy is the right word.”
In the corner of the bar, a man’s upright figure leaned lazily against the back of a chair, legs crossed and folded. He was on a phone call, saying, “Wasn’t it you who asked me to come? Where are you, Allen?”
Allen sounded sad, “Bro, I’m sorry! My car broke down on the way, and I’m waiting for someone to come and tow it! It might take a while!”
“Allen, do you know how valuable my time is?” Brendon just finished speaking when his gaze suddenly froze.
On a high bar stool sat a woman wearing a pure black spaghetti strap dress, with long wavy hair that accentuated her exquisite and enchanting features.
That face belonged to the person he had been longing for over the past four years.
Brendon abruptly stood up from his seat, his eyes icy as he watched the foreign man next to the woman, his hand resting on her shoulder! That damn foreigner even let his fingers touch her skin… Brendon almost threw his phone away in anger!
“Bro! I really didn’t mean it! Who knew the car would suddenly break down…”
“Enough!” With a snap, Brendon hung up the phone and strode directly towards Ranita! But before he had taken two steps, a stunning blonde with a well-proportioned figure intercepted him, her gaze blatantly issuing an invitation, “Hey handsome, can you buy me a drink?”
Brendon furrowed his brows, his tone icy as he rejected her, “Sorry, I’m not interested in you.”
Although the blonde was straightforward and enthusiastic, she didn’t push him further.
“Alright then! What a pity! I hope you have a good time tonight, handsome!” The blonde left, but Ranita, who was at the bar, was nowhere to be found!
The man who had earlier put his arm around Ranita’s shoulder was now engrossed in conversation with another girl.
Brendon searched everywhere, but he couldn’t find her anywhere!
Brendon was becoming increasingly anxious.
Just then, Ranita emerged from the restroom, wearing a coat that covered her well-proportioned figure, ready to leave. However, as she reached the exit, a slightly fierce-looking man blocked her.
“Hey! Beautiful, I’ve been noticing you since you walked into the bar. How about going on a date with me tonight?” The man leaned in, reeking of alcohol, making Ranita very uncomfortable.
