Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

The time was indeed very late.
Brendon turned off the lights, adjusted his seat, and closed his eyes to rest. Due to weather conditions, the plane didn’t take off until late at night, and it was estimated to be dawn when they reached Berlin!
Suddenly, the little guy next to him moved, “Uncle… I’m a little scared.”
His small hand grabbed Brendon’s sleeve and tugged it with force.
“Can you talk to me?” The little guy’s voice was small and timid, and Brendon couldn’t bear to refuse him, “You won’t be afraid if you fall asleep.”
“Mommy will tell me stories, Uncle…” The little guy’s head rested on the armrest, and his big, pitiful eyes looked at Brendon, “Uncle, can you tell me a story?”
Brendon had never told a story in his life.
He raised his eyebrows and placed his hand on the little guy’s head, “Close your eyes and sleep! If you talk again, I’ll call the flight attendant!”
Wow! This Uncle was really fierce!
“Uncle, you’re mean… Ayaan doesn’t like you anymore!” The little guy, feeling wronged, pulled his head back. He thought this uncle was really like his dad! Why did this uncle say he wasn’t? And scolded him!
Ayaan was angry!
The little guy retreated to his own seat, wrapped himself tightly in a blanket, leaving only a pair of big black eyes accusingly looking at Brendon.
Ignoring him, Brendon closed his eyes to sleep.
But not long after, the little kid’s small hand surprisingly grabbed his finger. Brendon immediately opened his eyes, glaring at the little guy, “Let go!”
The little guy pouted, retracting his finger.
“Uncle… so stingy…” The little guy pouted, looking annoyed. He really missed Uncle Pearson now; Uncle Pearson would surely hug him and tell him stories.
“No more talking!” Brendon warned with a stern expression. “This is my seat; don’t cross over again!”
Brendon rubbed his forehead tiredly. He was exhausted and didn’t want to be bothered by a little brat.
After the stormy weather, the air currents were still unstable. Suddenly, there was severe turbulence, and the little guy next to Brendon kicked his leg, exclaiming, “Uncle… I’m a little scared.”
The little guy was probably tired; his eyes looked lackluster.
Brendon frowned. He extended one finger, “You can only hold for one minute! Release it after a minute, understood?”
The little guy immediately held his finger tightly, sparkling eyes filled with light. Softly, he said, “Uncle… I’m Ayaan. What’s your name?”
“Hasn’t your mom taught you not to talk to strangers?” Brendon coldly replied. “Thirty seconds left.”
“Why so fast! I’m not a three-year-old; I can count!” The little guy protested strongly. Brendon looked at his chubby face, full of seriousness, and couldn’t help but laugh softly. “Aren’t you three years old?”
“I’m almost three and a half… Mommy says I’m a big kid now.” The little guy counted on his fingers, “No matter how old you are, a minute has passed. Now that you’re not scared, go to sleep!” Brendon said, but the little guy stared at him pitifully with big eyes.
Brendon was left speechless.
He was about to call a flight attendant when he saw the little guy retracting his finger, pouting, lying down, covering himself with a blanket, and then looking at Brendon with dark eyes, “Uncle, I think you’re definitely not my dad… Although you’re handsome, my dad would definitely tell me stories.”
