Chapter 371 Can’t Control

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Bastard?!
Ranita’s ears buzzed, her brain dizzy, and nausea surged up from her stomach. She couldn’t help but want to vomit…
“Ranita! Which man?!”
Her waist was tightly pinched, almost broken by the grip.
It seemed like all of her organs were shifting in pain.
“Ranita!” The deafening voice echoed as Ranita looked at Brendon with a cold heart.
One disappointment after another.
Ranita’s heart had already carried too much pain and sorrow. She pursed her lips, suppressing all emotions and love deep within her heart. She sneered disdainfully, “We’re divorced, you have no say.”
“Mr. Stuart, please take your hands off.”
Brendon grabbed onto her fingers until they turned blue with veins popping out.
He was holding back his emotions.
Ignoring him completely, Ranita’s fingers were ice-cold as she pushed them off his hand.
“Brendon, we have nothing between us anymore. I’ll have children with whoever I want…” Before she could finish speaking, Brendon pressed against the wall forcefully, “You lied to me! Ranita… were you just playing games with me?”
Lied to him?
A smile appeared on Ranita’s lips; however it only made her eyes seem colder than ever before.
“When did I lie to you? I’ve always said that this child has nothing to do with you… you just didn’t listen and got carried away…”
Boom! A gust of wind swept by from beside Ranita’s ear as a fist slammed heavily into the wall.
The sound of bones colliding rang out.
Ranita’s heart skipped a beat along with it.
His fist was already bloodied and scraped, traces of blood staining it. Ranita moved her lips but ultimately didn’t utter the words of concern.
They had reached a dead end.
No amount of care would change anything; it was all just a joke. There was no need to disturb oneself needlessly.
“Don’t appear in front of me again!” Brendon hung his head and walked away. The fire door closed slowly, and his figure, bathed in light, gradually disappeared.
The stairwell was dark, and the smell was unpleasant.
Ranita, seemingly oblivious, leaned against the wall, unaware and unresponsive, standing there for a long time. After an unknown period, the fire door was once again pushed open, and this time it was Robert who arrived.
“Miss Bowman, the madam instructed us to take you home.”
Ranita regained her composure and declined, “No need, I’ll go home by myself.”
“Miss Bowman, this is the madam’s goodwill. You should accept it.” Robert raised his chin, his gaze unfriendly. Ranita dared not let him accompany her home.
“I said no need, or shall we go ask Brendon together?” If Brendon let her go, he wouldn’t trouble her. Robert probably came under Amiya’s orders.
“Heh… Since that’s the case, Miss Bowman, do as you please.” Robert, considering Brendon’s feelings, coldly snorted and walked away after pushing the door open.
Afraid that the stairs might be unsafe, Ranita opened the fire door to take the elevator. After a few steps, she unexpectedly came face to face with someone she didn’t want to see.
Brendon carefully supported Shannon, and Shannon, like a delicate flower, leaned against his arm. Their intimate posture stabbed at Ranita’s heart.
“Ranita…” Shannon timidly called her, softly saying, “You haven’t gone home yet? Are you okay? You don’t look well.”
“Do you want me to have someone send you home? You’re pregnant now; you should take good care of yourself…” Shannon bit her lip, bonelessly leaning against Brendon’s chest, appearing weak and innocent, evoking sympathy, but her words carried deeper implications.
Brendon didn’t glance at Ranita, but spoke heavily, “Don’t concern yourself with unrelated people; let’s go.”
