Ranita frowned and growled, “What do you want?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Shannon had already grabbed her arm and was about to push her. Ranita swung her hand and pushed Shannon away, shouting angrily, “Get away from me!”
“Don’t touch me!”
“Ahh!” With a scream of pain, Shannon fell out and hit the backup fire extinguisher safety box on the opposite side. The sharp corners made a heavy collision sound.
“It hurts so much!” Shannon exclaimed as she fell heavily to the ground with a thud.
“It hurts so much… Ranita… help me…” Shannon twisted her face in agony. “Please call an ambulance for me. My stomach hurts so bad…” She pleaded with Ranita through ragged breaths. “I know you hate me but please think of my innocent child.”
Ranita was taken aback by what had happened.
She disliked Shannon but didn’t want to harm a pregnant woman directly.
“Ranita, I beg you! Please save me… Help me call an ambulance,” pleaded Shannon desperately while gasping for air. “I know you hate me but please think of my child who is innocent.”
Just as Ranita was about to pull out her phone, an angry shout interrupted them, “Ranita! What did you do to Shannon?” Holly rushed over like a gust of wind and pushed Ranita hard against the corridor wall causing numbness in her spine.
“Brother! Quick check on how’s Shannon doing,” Holly said anxiously like ants on hot bricks before screaming again, “Oh no… there’s blood!”
With Holly’s screams ringing in their ears, Ranita also saw blood stains on Shannon’s white dress …
Ranita moved her lips and looked at the silent Brendon, explaining, “Brendon, it wasn’t intentional…”
But before she could finish her sentence, Shannon interrupted, crying, “Brendon, it has nothing to do with Ranita. It’s all because of my clumsiness. She didn’t push me hard; I just couldn’t maintain my balance and fell!”
“It’s my fault…”
Holly gritted her teeth while glaring at Ranita furiously. “Shannon is still defending this woman even now! I heard everything just now. She begged for help calling an ambulance but this bitch didn’t move at all; it’s clear that she wants her life!”
“Brother! Call the police quickly and have them arrest this woman!”
Brendon’s face turned icy cold.
He looked at Ranita with eyes filled with shards of ice, deeply hurtful.
“Let’s take Shannon to the hospital first. We’ll talk about the rest later.” Brendon bent down and picked up the barely conscious Shannon, striding away.
As soon as Brendon left, Holly slapped Ranita hard across her face.
“Bang!”
The loud noise jolted Ranita awake. She quickly raised her hand to stop Holly’s hand from hitting her again and slapped it away. Her eyes were sharp as she warned, “Holly, if you dare touch me again, you’ll regret it!”
Her face stung from the slap and her hand throbbed where Holly had grabbed it.
“Let go of me!” Holly struggled but was powerless without her bodyguards around to intimidate her. “If my brother finds out about this, you’re in big trouble! Let go of me, Ranita!”
“Holly, I’m warning you not to touch me,” Ranita pushed away Holly’s hand.
Holly gritted her teeth in anger. “You’re done for this time, Ranita! My brother saw with his own eyes how you bullied Shannon and made her get hurt.”
Did he see it in front of his eyes?
Shannon’s familiar trick.
Yet, Brendon believed it nonetheless.
But there was no need to explain these things to Holly.
Holly was just a lunatic, and no matter how much she said, it would be a waste of breath.
With these thoughts in mind, Ranita didn’t go home and turned to leave.
“Ranita, where do you think you’re going? Stop right there!” Holly saw Ranita about to leave and hurriedly caught up. However, to Holly’s surprise, Ranita went to the hospital.
In the emergency room, Shannon was in such pain that cold sweat streamed down her face. But she refused to let other doctors treat her until Carlee arrived. It was only then that she grabbed Carlee’s hand and fainted.
