Lanre went upstairs and had a quick shower. He was eager to sit behind his computer and see through the email sent to him.
He switched the computer on and logged into his email. There was the hospital record of his mother when she delivered her babies.
It’s an old hospital at the present. People hardly go there these days, especially when they have the city hospital where Lanre works and the Li’s hospital owned by Junxie’s family.
But the Rehoboth hospital where Lanre and his twin sister were born, though outdated, still has their old records intact.
That was how Lanre’s professional colleague got that information from the archive and sent it to him privately.
There laid his mother’s picture at the side. This was the woman whose picture he had seen before. But this time, it looks bold and the face clearer.
The face is somewhat similar to Theresa’s? Yes he gets it clearly now, when he first saw the woman’s picture, he felt he knew a face that is similar to it.
But now, it’s clearer. Why is there a semblance between his mother and Theresa?
Well, he shrugged it aside. The last person he expects to be his twin sister is her. He looks older than her and besides, people sometimes see others they share semblance with despite not being related to each other.
He put that thought behind him and checked through the file. The name there is indeed Ye Xiaoxi.
She was an unmarried mother who came to the hospital to give birth to her babies. She was twenty two at the time. Lanre squinted. That implies she should be around forty seven if she had been alive.
He looked further and the report stated that she gave birth to twins. The first was a boy who died a few minutes after he was born.
And twenty minutes later, her second baby was born , a girl. Lanre sighed, he is not dead, he is very much alive.
But why would someone separate him from his mother? Was his mother pregnant for another woman’s husband? It’s better to be called an illegitimate child than to have the child murdered.
Then who could his father have been? Lanre scrolled down and saw the name of the man who was his father…
Theresa returned home and met Junxie Li in his study. He didn’t go to the office, hence the office was brought to him.
Julia sent all the files and information he needed to write or leave a comment, a directive or an approval and had it sent to him.
He was busy and almost done when Theresa arrived. She had gotten into the bedroom and didn’t see Junxie.
She guessed where he could be and headed there. Like he predicted, she met him in his study.
She took a seat and didn’t say anything for some minutes. He seemed to have all his attention on what he was doing and didn’t raise his head up as well.
“Welcome home, Lu Jingli’s ex wife” Junxie Li teased and raised his head. He had a grin on and Theresa Mo just rolled her eyes at his words.
” Yeah, Junxie Li’s Fiancee now” she teased back and raised her ring finger up for him to see.
The two lovers laughed. Junxie’s laugh was just a chuckle and a broad smile. Theresa was loud and she blew him kisses across the table.
“So you are two hundred million richer my love?” Junxie Li asked, still having that smiling face on.
Theresa squinted. Kim Gonzalo must have told him how it went. She was going to break it down for him how they went but didn’t know he already knew.
“Kim Gonzalo told you already?” Theresa Mo asked. Junxie said yes. He not only told him but he had a recording of the argument.
Suddenly he started laughing again, “how do you feel when Lu Jingli and his lawyer are angry at each other? Wasn’t your Belly sweet?” He inquired.
Theresa Mo said he has no idea how she felt. Lu Jingli’s face was ashen when he gave up his house and shares of the Mo’s business and yet, the compensation wasn’t complete.
He made an irrevocable mistake when he decided to go to court. He should have gone ahead with his life and not have attempted inviting her over.
Now he has no house, no shares, no car and his mother also has lost her house. Looking at her wristwatch, she said Lu Jingli and his mother should be leaving their house by that time.
And true to what Theresa was saying, Lu Jingli and his mother were having a heated argument.
Lu Jingli had suddenly come and informed her that they were vacating the house. She shouldn’t ask him why but should produce the documents for the house immediately.
Cherry Lu was not willing to leave the house. This was her husband’s house that she inherited after his death. She had lived there for years.
And suddenly, her Son Lu Jingli walked through the door and said she should leave at once and bring the papers out.
Who does that? He would not talk to her nor tell her what’s happening. He can’t just say such senseless words to her.
” I am going nowhere Jingli. This is my house and I intend to live here till my death” Cherry Lu bellowed.
