There’s a man-made waterfall at an extreme end. Everywhere was having the smell of a Ross flower. The light was bright and Theresa Mo wondered why she hadn’t been here on a cool evening.
The land looked vast and there was an event hall located nearby. She looked towards the hall and wondered why Junxie didn’t come get her in.
Anyways she walke+d closer and saw two bodyguards standing outside the door. They bowed slightly before her and held the door for her to step in.
Theresa Mo walked in and was surprised to see everywhere dark. She was scared. She wanted to turn around and Walk out when the spotlight suddenly shone on her.
The light was on her alone. She became more scared and puzzled. Still not sure of what was happening, she was retracing her steps backwards.
She can’t see beyond the circled light around her. Perhaps someone was watching her from the dark. She was still in that frightened mood when she suddenly saw Junxie walking towards her.
The spotlight was turned on him as well. He looked gorgeous like a prince who was to ascend the throne.
He wore a designer red suit and black pants. His hair glittering and he put a hand in his pant’s picked as he walked closer and stood before her.
“What’s going on here, Junxie?” Theresa asked. So uncertain of where she is standing, Junxie walked to stand before her and stare at her calmly without saying anything.
She looked beautiful and gorgeous. He admired her. She’s like a princess who’s going to Meet her suitor, the crowned prince on a royal visit.
While Theresa Mo waited for a reply, she suddenly saw Junxie Li went down on one knee and opened a red heart shaped box, nestled within the box is a velvet couch which houses a twenty karat gold ring.
Theresa was dazed. A ring? Junxie was going to give her a ring? Her eyes fixed on the ring in the box and gradually looked back at Junxie’s face.
Junxie Li removed the ring and he’d it between his thumb and index finger “Will you grant me the pleasure of being my wife?” He asked.
Still kneeling on a knee. He looked at Theresa. The latter’s eyes welled up in tears. She subconsciously took her hand to her mouth, sealing her agaped lips.
“I love you Theresa, Marry me!” Junxie Li said further. Theresa Mo tried fighting back the tears, Junxie is proposing to her?
Still in that dazed State, she stretched her left ring finger and Junxie slipped the ring through.
He stood up and hugged her. She tiptoed and kissed him. Junxie took over, placing his hand on her slim waist, capturing her lips.
Just then the light came on and Rose petals descended on the two lovers. There were applauds but the lovers seemed lost in their world.
The earth seemed to stand still as they kissed each other passionately. The Rose petals kept pouring down until Theresa, shyly pulled away and smiled.
Junxie also smiled. They were lost, staring into each other’s eyes. The people present applauded more. Finally, Theresa looked down, too shy to keep looking into his eyes.
That was when she saw the people present. Julia was there with Rita. They appeared to be a couple in love with each other.
Lanre was there in company of a woman that Theresa had never met. Rosa was beaming with a smile. Theresa squinted, oh Rosa she knew all along? Paula, Junxie’s cousin was there with a certain guy as well and they all smiled.
Theresa Mo now perfectly understands why Rosa was insisting she look good. Besides, when did she arrive? Didn’t she say she was going to the restroom while she was waiting for her chauffeur?
“Let’s have a toast to celebrate Junxie and Theresa’s engagement” Julia Li declared. Everyone walked over and took a glass while wine was being poured.
Junxie Li took two glances, one for himself and the other to his beautiful Fiancee. He poured wine and gave one glass to Theresa.
” To your health and happiness together” Lanre chimed and held his glass high and others joined as the sound of glass clicking against each other was heard.
Junxie and Theresa crossed their arms together at the elbow before sipping the wine. It was a beautiful sight as the party began in earnest.
Theresa was the happiest woman present. She least expected that Junxie had such intentions in his mind when they had lunch in his office.
“Congratulations Theresa” Rita said and walked over, giving her a sweet hug. Theresa Mo was happy and held her for a few more minutes before letting her go.
In Junxie’s company, they say a few words to everyone present. When they got in front of Rosa, she was smiling a megawatt smile.
“You were a part of the surprise Rosa, and you didn’t leave me a clue?” Theresa accused. Rosa shrugged and didn’t defend herself.
” She was acting according to my script. It was meant to be a surprise, and I really wanted it to appear so” Junxie chipped in.
Theresa smiled and held Junxie’s hand. “You deserve to be happy Theresa, and I am happy for you” Rosa said and congratulated them.
