Theresa Mo said she was going out with Junxie and wouldn’t be able to accompany her to shop. Rosa said she was going to the same party as well.
That way, Theresa agreed. Whoever Junxie instructed to bring her to the party would wait or better still go. She would be coming over with Rosa.
Lanre was in the company of Tara for the entire day. They went for lunch together. And from there, he took her to shop for Junxie’s engagement.
She was going to accompany him there and he always wanted any woman around him to look good.
As they return to Lanre’s penthouse, he asked her on the way “What about your husband and baby? Is everything ok with your marriage?”
He asked, glancing at her briefly and concentrating on the steering. He knew everything cannot be fine for Tara to return to the city and feel free without behaving like a married woman.
Tara’s eyes became moist. Recalling her unpleasant marriage makes her feel sad and despondent. She sniffled and looked away through the window.
“I am only concerned about your marriage not to make you shed some tears. But if you don’t want to talk about it, fine, I definitely would understand” Lanre explained.
For a few minutes, none of them said anything to each other. Lanre concentrating on the steering and Tara still looking out of the window.
“I lost my baby to pneumonia and my marriage crashed when my husband became unfaithful” Tara summarized.
Lost her baby to pneumonia? That is too simple of an illness that a child should die from. Aren’t there strong antibiotics to use and proper medical care?
“How come? Pneumonia?” Lanre asked. “I don’t know what to say Lanre, I never would have thought she wouldn’t make it out of the hospital.
She was feeling alright until she started reacting at midnight. Despite the doctor’s intervention and all they could do she still didn’t make it..” Tara explained.
Lanre sighed. She’s right. Doctors don’t have some supernatural power to heal their patients. Sometimes after all they do, some patients still succumb to the cool hands of death.
It hurts the doctors as much as the patient’s relatives at times. After putting to practice everything learnt in medicine, and eventually seeing the patients die hurts sometimes.
“My condolences Tara. I didn’t know that you lost your baby” Lanre felt sober. Looks like he was bringing up a healing wound.
“It’s ok.” She paused. After some time, she continued ” after we lost our baby, Fidel’s attitude towards me changed.
Then I discovered he was seeing someone else. I confronted him and he confirmed it. We got divorce and I returned back to my country..” Tara explained.
Lanre said he felt unhappy with all she went through. But hoped she would move on with her life and don’t let her past bring a distraction.
Tara smiled when Lanre insisted that she give him a smile. He told her he wants her to return to the Tara he used to know.
Tara felt relieved after talking to Lanre. He is such a great guy. “Tell me Lanre, are you seeing someone?” She asked.
Lanre sighed softly. He can’t say yes or no. Yes because he was seeing Rosa and despite them being apart, he still loves her as much as when they were still together.
No, because, literally, they have separated. “Yes. I was seeing someone but we had some issues and have been apart for several weeks now” he answered politely.
“Do you still love her and want to return to her?” Tara asked.
The two friends drove in Rosa’s car. Instead of going to do the shopping first, Rosa said they stop by and have their hair touched by a salonist.
Theresa groggily agreed. She kept looking at her phone for Junxie’s call but he didn’t call her.
Since she wasn’t lonely, she was with Rosa, they would have some fun until she saw Junxie’s call.
Instead of doing something simple, the salonist ended up styling Theresa’s hair and leaving all it’s tips curly.
She looked at herself in the mirror and decided she liked the styling. It looks good and beautiful on her. She was fine with having smooth and straight edges.
But she liked this one. It made her look like a fairy princess. But the salon was a classic one and it would definitely cost them a fortune at the end of the day but she liked it even at that.
Rosa made her hair too, leaving no room for suspicion for Theresa. She was communicating with Junxie through chatting and her friend didn’t know.
Soon, they were done with the hair styling and some hair spray was applied. The scent of it made Theresa feel the spray was expensive.
Their bills would be much. She smelled feminine and her hair was glittering and shiny. Looking at it would make one want to feel it and caress it.
“There’s a boutique here. Let’s just get a beautiful dinner gown and get dressed. We shouldn’t be late for the party” Rosa suggested.
“That’s better. Junxie is going to call me soon I guess” Theresa quickly agreed. She searched through her bag to get her limitless card.
Junxie had given it to her before he travelled but she hadn’t really used it. This was going to be her first time using it.
She stretched her hand to the salonist to pay their bills but she was surprised what she said:
