Julia is Keen on salvaging the whole situation. He can’t let anything happen to his brother and Theresa’s relationship.
While his parents were yet to find answers to give to Junxie’s questioning glares, he spoke up.
” What are you saying, Aunt Luciana? You flopped and yet want to drag my parents into the mess you caused?
You have already done a lot of harm. Don’t make things appear more complex than they are right now. You have bruised Theresa’s ego and I expect that you should humble yourself and apologise to her.
Theresa Mo and Junxie are two pure people who are fortunate to meet each other. Why are you trying to cause chaos in their love life? Why are you always so mean with your words?”
Paula disapproved of what her mother did. She frowned at her mother and knew that her father had lost face before his nephews and their women.
“I had a discussion with my brother. Luciana, did you eavesdrop on our conversation?” Li Guang asked.
“You don’t have to interrogate Aunt Luciana like she was a criminal. I am not supposed to be here. I will leave now” Theresa Mo said and stood up.
She walked out unrestrained and Junxie Li followed her. Julia looked at Rita and said ” let’s go”.
Rita, who was more than eager to return home, quickly stood up and went after Julia. But they met Junxie Li talking in low tones with Theresa.
” Julia, get me the boys,” Junxie Li instructed. He turned again to Theresa and continued talking in low tones.
When the boys arrived, Junxie put them in the passenger’s seat and held the door for Theresa Mo to step in. She did and he shut the door before walking over to sit behind the steering.
Carol and Cheng Li walked out but one would see that they were sad. The way the day ended was something they never envisaged.
Cheng Li saw his sons drive off with their women and his grandsons left without a goodbye hug from him.
When has something like this ever happened? Li’s family are well known to have a bond that never can be broken.
But he is afraid of what will happen to the present and next generation of the family. Can they be what their ancestors were having a woman like Luciana in the family?
Ms Anna Hu called Lanre that they should meet that day. It was a day off work and he said he would drive over to the address.
His two weeks off duty was almost due. He doesn’t want to leave his research halfway to travel.
He had called his parents and informed them that his coming over was still under probability. He is not certain if he would still be able to attend.
If Ms Anna Hu has called him, it implies that she has some good news for him. He drove to Ms Anna’s place.
She had told him to meet her in a secluded place, far away from the city. Lanre arrived in no time. He was dressed in a black pants over a blue shirt with a backpack.
He wore a shade and combed his hair to the back. He looked disguised. Ms Anna Hu was sitting at a corner, her artistic makeup and a transgender dress she wore made her totally unrecognizable.
Lanre walked into the hotel and looked around. He sighted a man sitting at an angle and he beckoned to him.
Lanre walked over but had no slight awareness that the man he was walking over was Ms Anna Hu.
” I’m glad you made it, doctor Lanre” the fellow that Lanre assumed was a man spoke.
Lanre stood and didn’t respond to him. He looked closely and smiled faintly. “Hello Mr Anna Hu ” Lanre responded and took a seat. He deliberately used the title ‘Mr’
The latter smiled. The doctor is smart. He recognized her at once. They shook hands and Lanre ordered drinks.
The drinks were served and Ms Anna Hu brought out a few documents from under her clothes. She placed it on the desk, and Lanre picked it up and placed it immediately on his backpack.
“The summary of all I could get is found in those documents. But there’s someone who has the remaining answers to your questions” Ms Anna Hu explained.
” Thank you for helping me with the clues,” Lanre declared. He transferred a sum of money to her account and they both said goodbye.
Lanre waited for Ms Anna Hu to leave first and remained seated till he finished his drinks. He wants to know and he won’t rest till he gets answers.
