Gabriel
In a split of second, I was able to move away from my father before he was able to bury his teeth on my neck. I heard my him growl as he saw me a few feet away from him. He ran and attack me again but this time, I am prepared.
I placed my hands in front of me. As he lunged at me again, I held both of his front legs and swung him, throwing him to the far side of the garden.
Wow! And I haven’t even shifted yet!
My father stood up and was in a fighting position once again. I prepared myself for his attack once again, still in my human form. He jumped at me and lunged for my throat. I held him again, this time, in his body and once again, swung him and threw him away.
I felt his wolf getting furious as he suddenly dodged me. Not expecting for this kind of attack, I stumbled down on my butt. I saw his wolf coming to me fast.
I changed into my black wolf and met him. I dodged him and he was thrown away again. This time, I attacked him. I jumped to his left and before he could blink, I was at his right. In a speed of light, I put my right paw on his neck while my left was on his belly.
As if realizing that he can no longer put up with the fight, he looked down in submission at the same time, I felt immense Alpha power.
I let go of my father, went behind the bush and shifted back to my human form. I went back to him in full clothes.
“Son,” he said as my mom walked towards him.
“Look, Dad, I’m sorry. That was not supposed to happen. My wolf just got angry.”
“You are now the new Alpha. First thing you have to do is to call for a pack meeting and prepare to appoint your beta and third-in-command!”
I nodded to him. “Pack meeting after two hours. Make sure everyone will attend.” I told everyone in our mind link.
I remembered my mate. Oh, well, I will deal with her tonight. I’ll make sure I will have her this time.
“What are you planning to do with Tiffany?” My Dad asked me.
“Nothing. I already ended anything she thought we have.”
“But you need a Luna and she is whom you need to —,” I cut him off.
“There is only one Luna this pack will have and that is my mate, Ri!”
“No! I don’t want you to —”
“I will not be told whom to mate. I will chose who I want!” I told him in a stern voice to dismiss the issue. He only bowed down not even looking at me though I still feel anger radiating from him.
One hour later…
Almost everyone was already in the clearing where we usually hold our meeting. My father will be the first to speak as he would introduce me to the pack as their new alpha.
I looked around for my mate or even her family but I can’t seem to find them.
“Maybe they are just somewhere.” I told myself. Having almost a thousand members, you can’t really see everyone at once.
I looked around once again. I noticed a smaller group separated from most of the members.
I know they are the Serene’s. They really felt different, I know. But I will make sure, everything will change.
Dad stood up in front of the make-shift stage, holding the microphone.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen! I would like to thank you all for coming at a short notice. Very well, this meeting is to inform you about a change of leadership. Earlier, my alpha-ship has been challenged and won by my son, Gabriel.” He looked at me and asked me to stand up as whispers broke out.
A few seconds later, a loud applause broke out as most of the teens applauded and shouted congratulations to me.
I stood up and took my father’s place in front of them.
“Good evening once again. As my father said, I am now your new alpha. I know most of you would think that it is not yet the right time because of the threats of the rogues but nevertheless, I am sure that I can handle it.
Now, I was told to pick my own beta. Then, here it goes. I would like to introduce you all to your beta, Jam Pierce.”
Jam is my best friend, son of Ralph, the former third-in-command, who has mated with a Serene named Bethany. However, he distanced himself from us since he found her mate also because of the discrimination of the original Gibbous.
Jam was shocked but smiled when I called out his name. He immediately went up the stage together with his mate.
I also picked out Topher as my third-in-command.
“Secondly, I want to change one practice we have. Starting now, Serene’s small group and the Gibbous larger group are gone. I order you to treat everyone, and I say EVERYONE, including the Serene’s equally.” I said the last sentence in my Alpha tone. “Failure to do so, a punishment will be given.” I smiled at everyone.
Lastly, about your Luna. As of now, I don’t have her yet.” I heard gasps from everyone. I cleared my throat and everyone was silent. “I know her but I made a mistake towards her. So as of now, I still have to ask her to forgive me before I introduce her to you.”
There were whispers once again. One member raised her hand.
“Yes, Allison?”
“Why wait? Don’t we all know it’s Tiffany?”
“No!” I said seriously. “It’s not Tiffany. If you must know, she is—”
“No!” My Dad cut me off as he shouted. I turned to him and glared. “I can’t let you mate with her. I won’t allow it.”
“Maybe you have forgotten something, Father. You are alpha no more!” I told him seriously.
I turned back to them. “I will be calling you for another meeting once I have her back and we are ready to introduce her to you.” I smiled and dismissed them.
“Disrespect me one more time, father or not, I will banish you from my pack, Dad.” I whispered to him which he replied with a growl. I growled louder and he bowed his head.
It’s 7:30 in the evening when I reached the pack house. I decided to go to the Paine’s. I need to talk to her. I need to ask for her forgiveness.
Hope was in my heart as I drove to the boundary of both our packs’ territory where she and her family live.
The hope and excitement I felt died out when I noticed their dark lifeless house. I breathed in the air. I still smell the scent of the family though it’s fading.
My heart pounded. Could something wrong happened? I approached their house and knocked on the door. When no one answered, I tried to turn their knob but it was locked.
“Where are they?” I asked myself.
“She’s gone.” Keifer said in my mind, sadness in his tone. He blocked me and became quiet once again.
I check the back of their house then I went back to the front but still I saw no sign of them. I saw someone approaching the house so I prepared and was on my fighting position at once. I growled at him but instead of fighting, he bowed his head and greeted me.
“Who are you?”
“Alpha, my name is Alistair, former beta of the Midnight Serenity pack and now the sub-leader of the Serenes.” He introduced to me. “I would just like to ask what were you doing here in the Paine’s, Alpha?”
“I’m looking for their daughter, Rianne. I need to speak with her.” I told him not minding if he would discover why.
“I’m sorry, Alpha but they, the Paines, are no longer here. They have left for the airport a few hours ago. They are bound to our former Luna’s homecountry, leaving me in-charge.”
“What? W-where are they going? What state?”
He shook his head. “They are headed to the Philippines, Alpha, but I am not sure what particular part of the country.”
“Philippines?” I tried to recall our past geography class but I can’t seem to recall that country though I have heard about it.
I thanked Alistair and headed back to my car. As soon as I arrived at the pack house, I went immediately to my room, opened my laptop and searched for the country, the Philippines.
As I have read the article about the country, my eyes focused on a particular figure, 7 107 islands. What?! How am I supposed to find my mate on that country with that number of islands?
I shook my head. No! I won’t give up!
“Alpha,” I heard Jam called me from my door. “your Dad has asked for you at his office.”
“Yeah, thanks. I’ll just follow.” I told him as I closed my laptop and got up. I went out of my room and headed for the office.
I saw Jam and Topher waiting for me inside the office as I got in. “What is it, Dad?”
“ROGUES!” One word is enough for me to understand what he wanted from me.
As if I was switched ON as I instantly change into an alpha mode. I started with my planning; talked to them with the strategies I have devised as well as organizing ways to defeat this long-time problem.
It was past midnight when we finally finished. I walked back to my room and jumped to my bed. I thought of my mate again. With all the problems with the rogues, I know I can’t follow and find her immediately. I still have to settle everything else.
I got up, went over my window and looked outside. I tried to connect with her, through our faint bond. Using my newly discovered skills, I reached for her mind. Putting all the longings and love unto it, I whispered into the air.
“I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, RIANNE PAINE!”
