Chapter 66 Plan gone wrong

Book:Twenty Years In Bondage Published:2024-6-3

Astrid POV
After walking in the woods for what seemed like forever, I finally got to the route, which I took back to the castle, and in a few minutes, I was already at their doorstep. Thankfully, there were no guards around, so it wasn’t difficult, breaking into their house.
Alpha Khalid actually made them live in a part if the castle, after he found out the truth about him and Octavia. Normally, guards are supposed to be here at all time, I wonder why they’re not here now. Well, that’s to my advantage.
After looking around the dark place carefully, to be sure nobody was watching me, I was able to break the door, with my daggers, and soon, I burst in. Stepping into the place, I was welcomed with a very beautiful living room. Wow! They’re living in such a beautiful place, but too bad, it’ll only last for a short time.
I made sure I walked carefully, and soon, I was already walking through the hallway, that leads to God knows where. The house is damn complicated, but one thing I’m sure of, is that I have to get this done, once and for all.
I kept opening the doors one after the other, but was always met with an empty space, and shit! My time is being wasted, and I’m already getting pissed.
Once I got to the last door, I froze in my spot, as a voice cut through my ears like a sharp sword. Shit! The guards are here.
“Who are you?” Came one of the guards voice, followed by footsteps, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me that they were already walking towards me.
Taking a deep breath, I turned around, and watched as they kept walking to me, and soon, they charged at as they took out their swords, ready to attack me.
In one swift, I jumped and made a walk on the steps, as I landed on my two feet behind them.
They turned swiftly, and started running to me again, but this time, I took out my daggers from where I tied it to my legs, before throwing it at them, as it flung in the air, before getting stuck in their throats.
I sauntered to them, and forced the daggers off their throat, making their blood spill on my face, as they both fell dead on the ground. I made to open the door again, but the footsteps, drawing closer, pulled my attention, and snapping my head to look at what was happening, I found out that I was already surrounded by about not less than fifteen of the guards. Shit! I’m in for some deep shit now.
They charged at me, and without thinking of fighting with them, I jumped up and started somersaulting in the air, till I got to the window, and without thinking twice, I jumped down through the window, before vanishing into the woods. Damn! I can’t believe those fools dare to ruin my plan…
Moon POV
It’s been months, since Khalid has been like this, and it’s really killing me. I wish I can help him, but too bad, I can’t do anything about it.
It’s still early in the morning, and I have to go to school today. I’m writing exams today, so staying back at home, is what you wouldn’t expect me to do, right?
I yawned tiredly on the bed, and stretched my arms above my head, before spranging up to a sitting position. Once I sat up on the bed, I ruffled my hair crazily, and yawned one more time, before swinging my legs down the bed, after which I got on my feet, before dragging my tired feet into the bathroom. I’m so damn tired, been reading all night. I know you may be thinking otherwise now, but trust me, I do read for exams too, it’s not only humans that do read for exams.
Stepping into the bathroom, I had a long relaxing bath, and once I was done, I stepped out into the room, and started getting dressed. A few minutes later, I was all ready for school. I took a one last glance at myself on the mirror, and flashed a smile, before storming out of my room, not after picking up my backpack.
Stepping out of my room, I looked to my right hand side, where Khalid’s room is located, and let out a sigh, before walking towards it. Even if he doesn’t want to see anyone, I still can’t go a day without seeing his face.
Once I got to his doorstep, I took a deep breath, before placing a knock on the door and as expected, I got no reply.
I pushed the door opened slightly, and peeked in, to see him sitting on his usual seat, not raising his head. I sighed softly, before opening the door widely, and walked in.
“Good morning your highness.” I greeted, trying to make sure I don’t say anything that’ll make him flare up. Well as expected, he didn’t acted like I was around, as his gaze was fixated on Octavia.
“I came to tell you that I’m going to school. I may be a bit late before I get back home, I and Jack are going to see his sister.” I said, and pursed my lips, hoping to get his attention.
“Hmm.” Was all he hummed. I sighed softly, before turning around, and with that, I left his room.
Once I got outside, I met Jack, waiting for me, and I smiled, before walking down to him.
“Good morning.” I flashed him a smile.
“Good morning my lady. You don’t look happy today, what’s happening?” He asked, giving me a suspicious look.
“It’s nothing, let’s get going already, we’re running late.” I said, as I opened the door, and hopped in, before fastening my seatbelt.
After a few seconds, the door to the other side opened, and he hopped in, before turning on the ignition, after which he revised the car, and drove out of the compound, and soon, we were on our way to the school.
“If your mood has anything to do with your brother, you have to calm down, he’ll be fine.” He glanced at me and said, while I just nodded.
After driving for what seemed like forever, we finally arrived the school, and he parked at the garage, before we both alighted. Stepping out of the car, I almost froze at who I saw…
