Octavia POV
“Why are you always out every night?” He asked me the most difficult question, which I never wanna think about.
I snapped my head to look at him, with a blank expression on my face? How can I possibly bring myself to tell him that this is the only time I always have to go out? He will think I’m weird, if I tell him that for the past years I’ve been into existence, I’ve never seen what the sunlight look like, he will think I’m being crazy, right? Just how can I tell him that I’ve been locked up inside the room, ever since I was born?
“It’s ok if you don’t want to talk about it.” He finally spoke up.
Just how much I’ve wanted this, I don’t wanna talk about anything that’ll hurt me, I just wanna enjoy this moment.
“So, can we be friends?” He asked calmly, as he tilted his head to look at me, with an anticipating look on his face.
His words rang in my head, as I stared at him blankly. I was shocked, ever since I’ve been into existence, no one had ever asked me that question, no one ever asked to be my friend, and to see this heavenly cute man, standing here and asking to be my friend, that’s a dream come through, that’s the opportunity I’ve been looking for these whole years, the opportunity to get to meet and make friends with people, outside my home, and now that it is here, I wouldn’t be foolish to let it slip off my fingers, just like that, yeah?
“Hey cmon, not that I’m gonna eat you up, I just want us to be friends, like hang out together in the woods like this, watch this fake shooting stars together, and we can also run race sometimes, if you want to. I just wanna keep you company, nothing at all.” He chuckled.
I couldn’t help, but admired him, just how could someone be this handsome? I know werewolves are said to be really cute, but this stranger, standing before me now, I doubt if he’s just a werewolf.
He snapped his fingers on my face, snapping me back to reality, and that was when I realized that I’ve been staring at him nonstop. Oh gosh! He caught me.
So, what do you say about being my friend, huh?” He asked again, but this time, he was looking into space, with his hands folded at his back.
I stared at him for minutes, contemplating on whether to accept the offer or not, too many negative thoughts, cam conflicting on my mind. In as much as I wanted to accept the offer wholeheartedly, I felt myself, holding back, as mom’s words, kept hitting at me. ‘Don’t trust anyone Octavia, they can seem to be nice, but they’re just doing that, to get to you, and when they do, you’ll end up regretting it.’ ‘If one day you go out to the woods, and run into anyone, remember not to talk to him or her, no matter how friendly they appear. Wolfs can be dangerous, they seduce their preys.’ Her words rang in my head, and I just couldn’t help, but think twice.
“You’ve already disobeyed her, by talking to him in the first place, so why not push through with this? Remember we need this, and besides, he doesn’t look that bad. Please let’s give this a try.”
Leia, my wolf spoke in my head. What the heck is her problem, huh? I didn’t remember asking her to give me an advice.
“Hey, what are you thinking? I’m not a bad person, ok?” He jolted me out of my trance.
Tilting my head to look at him, I finally nodded my head in affirmation.
“Friends…” He said with a warm smile on his face, as he stretched forth his hand for an handshake.
“Friends.” I smiled, taking his hand, but retracted almost immediately.
We talked about random things, before I finally left the woods. My angers have disappeared, all I could think of, was my new friend. It’s really fun, having a friend, and I’ve been missing alot all these years since I didn’t have one. Striding down the woods, something caught my attention, it was the same aura, that intimidating aura, I can never forget, that strong and killing aura, that can scare anyone away.
I stopped walking, and looked around to see if I could get a glimpse of him again, but he wasn’t anywhere near. I know what I’m doing is dangerous, but I just couldn’t help, but want to see his face, I just wanna see what he looks like, I wanna know if he’s more handsome than my friend. That’s crazy, right?
“Cmon let’s go take a look.” Leia urged me, as she crawled out through my eyes to come see for herself.
“Can you just stopped talking Leia? You’re annoying.” I huffed angrily, before going to a direction, which leads to God knows where. I kept walking down the woods, sniffing, just so I could get where the scent was coming from.
I was still walking down the woods, when a net from nowhere, trapped me, and the next thing I know, I was already on my knees, covered with the big net, making me unable to move.
“Argh!” I winced, as I tried standing up, but fell on my knees again. Oh please save me, moon goddess. I won’t disobey mom again if you save me this one more time.
“That was what you said before, but you did it again, look what you’ve got us into now.” Leia snapped at me angrily.
“Just the hell Leia!” I snapped loudly.
I heard growls around me, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me that I was in trouble. Raising my head slowly, I froze on my spot, as I was welcomed with a huge grey wolf, staring at me, with a deadly look on its face. Soon, the growls doubled, and that was when I realized that I they were more than one, they were six in numbers. I’m finally dead.
The net that was used to cover me, was lifted from my body, and my heart skipped. The only thing that was stopping them from pouncing on me, was the net, and now that its gone, oh I’m so dead.
“What do we do Leia?” I asked inwardly, I turned around slowly, trying to see if there was anyway out. There’s no way I can fight these huge wolves, right? Making use of my power here, will only wreak havoc, so I better run for my life, or let them kill me.
“I don’t know, we can’t fight them, let’s run.” Leia said inside me, and I scoffed.
I finally spotted an escape route, and as I made to run for my dear life, one of the huge wolves, charged towards me, before dropped dead on the ground, even before it got to me, while the remaining ones took steps back, with frightened look on their faces, like they just saw something scary.
“Don’t look back Octavia, let’s run.” Leia snapped at me, and I made to run, but stopped in my track, as one of the wolves double crossed me.
Shifting into my wolf form, I made to attack it, but stopped in my track, as the wolf moved back frightened, followed by a loud howl behind me, freezing me on the spot.
Turning around to see where the scary howl came from, my heart sunk into my stomach, as I was welcomed with a very huge and beautiful wolf, standing behind me…
