Author POV
She gulped down like a million times, as she stared deep into his blank face, trying to read his expression, but luck didn’t seem to be on her side.
He suddenly chuckled softly, and stepped away from her. He looked so perfect, when he laughs, the world stops to listen to his sweet voice, how could a man be this handsome. Octavia stared at her prince charming in confusion, wondering what was happening, she just couldn’t bring herself to understanding the situation on ground, so she just gave him a blank face. Even if she was scared inside, she tried to look brave, she didn’t wanna give in so easily.
“You are really a scared cat. You needed to see your face just now. Wait! Were you thinking that I was going to hurt you?” He asked her, as he chuckled, which only lasted for a few seconds, before it slowly dissipated into a huge frown.
Octavia stared blankly at him blankly, as the thoughts of the young man, playing pranks on her, filled her head.
“Cmon let’s go already.” He said, dragging her with him, as he led her deep into the forest. She just couldn’t protest, as she followed him, leaving everything to fate, to decide on. She didn’t want to object, knowing that it was going to be pointless.
She couldn’t stop staring at the man, as he dragged her away, so many thoughts, conflicting on her mind. Maybe he’s finally taking her to where he’s going to murder her, maybe this was the end of it all, maybe she wasn’t destined to have a life of her own, maybe she was destined to end up this way.
Kai finally stopped walking, and as Octavia glanced at him over his shoulders, she found him smiling at nothing. For some reasons, her fear and nervousness, suddenly dissipated slowly into excitement. Even if she didn’t know why he was smiling, she just find it more exciting, watching the man she’s kind of having a big crush on, smile in her presence, the feeling is one she’d never felt before in her entire life.
He waved his hand in the air, and in the next seconds, there were what looked like shooting stars, welcoming them beautifully. Her face brightened, as a smile found its way to her face, she felt her heart, racing, not in fear or terror, but in pure excitement, she couldn’t believe that she was watching shooting stars, for the first time in her entire life. She has read about it in books, especially the werewolves books she read, where a she wolf, watches the shooting stars and sunrise with their mates, and she had always wished that one day, she’ll get to experience it.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” His sweet and eloquent voice, jolted her out of her trance. Snapping out of her deep thoughts, her lips slowly curved into a beautiful smile, showing her dimples, which made her more beautiful. She found herself nodding her head in affirmation, she knew what she was doing was wrong, she know she wasn’t supposed to talk to any stranger, but she couldn’t help the invisible force, that kept drawing her to the handsome man. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll turn out to be her mate.
She smiled widely, as she reached out her hand, and touched the beautiful light, and she just couldn’t help, but marveled at the sight of them. She knew that may be the last time of seeing such thing, so she made up her mind, to savor the moment, and live with the memory for the rest of her life, even in her grave.
“Do you like them?” His voice rang through again, making her tilt her head to look at young man, who wasn’t even looking her way, but had his gaze fixated on the beautiful artificial shooting stars, his lips curved into a smile.
How could he even asked if she likes it? This was her first time of seeing something this beautiful, her first time, of feeling like she’s really in existence. Staring at handsome man, different thoughts filled her head, he was the first to know of her existence, after her family and mother Lia, he was the very first person, to see her face, she just couldn’t help, but concluded that the young man, may be her mate, she prayed he turned out to be the one.
“I love it.” She finally spoke for the first time since they both got there, as her eyes stared deep at the beautiful sight before her, she wished she could watch them forever, but to her, that was the dreams, that will never come through for her, if wishes were horses, then she’d wish to be happy, but what her life, has already been planned, even before she was born. A drop of tears escaped her eyes, as her whole miserable life, came playing right in front of her, like a movie. When she was growing up, she’d always thought she was going to grow amongst people, and have many friends, but unlike other kids, luck never seemed to be on her side.
“Why are you crying?” He asked, as he tilted his head to look at his enchantress, his brows arched confusingly, as the thoughts of her, filled his mind. He know he wasn’t supposed to be like this, but then, he couldn’t stopped himself from feeling bad, seeing her in tears.
She shook her head negatively, as she tried to cover up her pains, with a smile, but it was obvious anyways. Anyone could tell that she was going through alot, just with a glance at her. In as much as she needed someone to talk to, she couldn’t bring herself to talking to a stranger, right? She so much wanted to let her pains out, she needed someone to hug, and find comfort in, she needed someone to give her an assurance, that everything will be fine, just that, could calm her down, but she couldn’t bring herself to wanting all that, from the stranger.
“Why are you always out every night?” He asked the most difficult question to answer, after a long silence. She snapped her head to look at him, as he stared back at her, with curiosity, written all over his face, he gave her a questioning and curious look.
She stared blankly at him, as his question rang in her head…
