Damn! Her proclamation sent my mind into a beautiful trance as she waved me good bye. I never thought I could be happier with this woman, but she have the power to make me fall in love with her every passing day.
If I had my way I’ll never take my eyes off her- not even for a second, because she is a wonder to me.
Even though I was late, I was still feeling uneasy about leaving. She had promise to call me if anything happens, so I got into my car and drove off.
I put my airpod on and asked Siri to put a call through for me. The phone rang and in a second, someone picked up from the other side.
“You had something to tell me?” I asked.
“Yes sir. Unfortunately, the package you had gifted Mr Gracía is dead. And I’m afraid, I’m not the only one who knows about this, sir” the voice on the other end informed.
“What? That can’t be… I specifically requested that his sentence should hold off until I’m able to neutralize my own pending threat. How did this happen?” I asked in disappointment and fury.
“I heard he tried to escape and was killed on sight” the voice answered.
I brushed my hair back with my fingers in frustration and concern.
“Sh’t… sh’t sh’t sh’t sh’t!” I cussed angrily before ending the call.
This is not good- this is not good at all. I only made a request to Mr Gracía when I handed Carlos over to him. All I wanted was for him to hold off his revenge for just a little while, until I deal with Sophia here.
Now, Carlos is dead and he was the only thing keeping Sophia from releasing those photos to the press. Fu’k!… she might even do worse than that, I thought as I recalled her earlier threat.
I need to go back home and make sure Livy gets out of that house unharmed. But before I could finish my thought, my phone rang and it was Livy calling.
“Hello?” I asked nervously, but all I heard was a squeak of fear from her, followed by a crash.
“Hello?! Olivia, hello?!” I called out in panic.
“So… So… Sophia, please calm down and let’s talk this out amicably. Let’s not do anything we both would regret later.” I heard Livy say through the phone.
No. This can’t be happening. Sophia must have heard about Carlo’s death and now she’s out to punish me in the worst way possible.
In fear, I swayed the steering causing the car to drift and in few seconds, I was on the other lane rushing home to my wife.
I didn’t end the call, somehow Livy’s voice and response- no matter how disturbed and frightened she sounded, kept me sane and hopeful as I rushed to get to her.
I found myself praying that she keeps talking so I’ll know she’s still ok, and I heard everything- everything Sophia said to her. I could feel Sophia’s hatred and spite through the phone, and it was nauseating to listen to.
I drove my car like my entire world depends on it, and it did. It wasn’t long till I alerted the attention of the traffic cops, so they engaged me in a car chase, asking me to slow down. I didn’t, I sped even faster and can’t tell how many km/hr I was launching at.
When I got to my property, I pressed the remote to gate before I even came face to face with it, and was thankful it opened in time. If not I would have rammed it over.
I let the cops in as well, but when I got to the house, I rushed inside without giving them an explanation as to why I was speeding.
My legs move at the same pace with my heartbeat as I ran at a great speed, skipping up to 2-3 stairs at a time.
I got to the door panting as I turned the knob, but it didn’t budge. So, I stepped back and rammed through the door without thinking twice and it burst open.
I immediately scanned the room for my Livy and found her on the floor, with Sophia hovering over her with piece of sharp glass about to launch at… oh fu’k!
Livy?!
Sophia is really about to hurt and possibly kill my wife in cold blood?
“Sophia, stop!!!” I growled in fury.
And losing all self-control, I launched towards Sophia in seconds and pushed her with so much force, throwing her across the floor and crashing into a wooden cabinet.
I rushed beside an unconscious Livy and examined her thoroughly. She was bleeding from her head and that made me even angrier. I cupped her face with so much bitterly that I growled like a hurt animal as I shot a glare at Sophia who’s trying to regain her balance.
I was so furious, I really wanted to hurt Sophia. But Livy was bleeding a lot and I had to get her to a hospital immediately.
“If you ever come close to my family ever again- I swear by everything pure and good, I’ll kill you myself!” I cited with so much spite and hatred I could muster at the moment, and I meant it.
I then quickly picked Livy up and carried her in my arm downstairs. One of the police officers who followed me inside the mansion- met me half way down the stairs as I was taking Olivia down to my car, called for an ambulance.
The second officer rushed towards me and helped me put her securedly inside my car, but kept staring at me suspiciously.
I don’t have time for much explanation, so I simply said, “My wife is 10weeks pregnant and was almost murdered few minutes ago. The culprit is still inside, so any further questions you have would be answered only after my wife have gotten the necessary health care service she needs at the moment.”
I didn’t wait and longer before I entering my car and drove off. I was drove for just 5mins I think, before my sight started getting blurry. I weeped off the tears that were trying to escape with the sleeve of my shirt.
This was all my fault, I never should have left her alone. I’ll never be able to forgive myself if anything were to happen to Olivia or the baby.
I have to get to the closest hospital real quick, I can’t afford to lose any more time.
