Few minutes before lunch time, Markian’s secretary called him to inform him that his food had been delivered, so Markian asked for it to be brought in.
He was quite disappointed that Livy hadn’t delivered it herself, but was still grateful that she prepared it anyway.
Heather
This was the first time in a week I received anything from Livy, and it was a text ordering me to head over to Castlehill.
Does she really think she’s now a big shot?
After everything that had happened back at the hospital, I could only conclude that she must be sick in the head or something, so I kept my distance as she requested.
My sincere love and care for her ended that day and I just didn’t know how I would react if I saw her again.
So, why is she asking me to come to the company?
If Markian needed me, he would have texted or called me himself since he knew just how much I now detested Livy. I ignored the text and continued with my business.
I decided few days ago that I wanted to open up a Destination Spa and big projects like this needed sponsors and advertisement. So, I was meeting up with potential business partners who were interested.
I thought it would be a good idea to try it out and this means I’ll be very busy from here on out, so I’ll have very little time to waste.
We continued the meeting for few more minutes until I receive another text from her, but this time it was disturbing.
‘Markian would really die by my hand today if you don’t come to Castlehill and stop me before noon’.
I was frozen for few seconds as I read the text 3 more times just to be certain.
What the hell did I just receive? I wondered as my hands became shaky and unstable.
“Gentlemen?… Shall we continue this meeting some other time, please? I’ve got urgent matters to attend to. Thank you so much for your time.” I requested urgently, as I dismissed myself from their presence and left the restaurant in haste.
I got into my car and put a call to Livy, to find out if she was just trying to get on my nerves or she was being serious.
“Livy, what the hell? Why the fu’k would you joke by threatening Markian’s life?” I asked furiously the moment she picked my call.
“It’s not a threat.” She replied coldly through the phone.
I felt chills all over me and wondered if demons and possessions were in play here.
“What?” was all I could manage to ask.
“In few minutes, Markian would be served a lunch box which I had prepared and added poison to. If he eats it, he’ll die instantly and his blood would be on both our hands. But if you hurry up and reach Castlehill on time, you maybe able to stop him from eating the food and save his life.” She stated clearly without missing words.
Her words, the way she said it all sounded very disturbing. I felt like I was just dragged into a scary movie where the villain is a mental patient.
Right here and right now this bitch had just added me in whatever sick joke she was trying to playing.
“Have you suddenly lost your mind?! Why are you doing these? Why the hell would you want to kill your husband?!” I yelled in pure anger.
I heard she’s been stealing money from Castlehill, but I dare not bring up the matter to Markian again because he would just ignore me.
“I don’t. I’m just trying out to see if his fate is to be killed by me. If you can make it in time and save Markian, then I’ll disappear from all your lives. But if you can’t save him and he dies, he’ll be the one disappearing from ours. It’s either me or him.” She replied vehemently.
I knew it. I knew this wench belonged in a mental institution since the day she tried to kill herself. But I never imagined that Markian would be a victim of her insanity.
Fate? Saving? Disappearing? Who in their right minds talks like that!?
“Bitch- you listen to me. If anything happens to Markian, I swear on my life, I’ll destroy you.” I uttered sternly.
I don’t care about anything anymore and I was damn serious. If she so much as hurts any member of my family again, I’ll hunt her to the ends of the earth and make her pay.
“You’ll have to save him to do that then, because if Markian dies, Castlehill becomes mine. As we speak, I’m invincible enough and can’t be touched by you nor your family.” She replied with a wicked laugh that set all my nerves on fire.
I ended the call immediately and turned on my car, enroute Castlehill. I was very angry and genuinely scared for Markian’s life at the same time.
Livy have caused him more harm than good, and the worse part is that I was the very person who persuaded him into giving their marriage a chance.
If anything happens to him, I won’t be able to forgive myself.
I first had to make sure this wasn’t a prank and that Livy was only joking, so I called M. Winfrey mansion and asked if Markian took his lunch to work this morning. But the maid said he didn’t, and that Livy prepared the meal and took it to Markian’s office herself.
My mind went on a frenzy and I couldn’t shake off the awful feeling that Livy might be telling the truth.
I had to call Markian right away, and when he didn’t pick up his call the first time, I panicked. I called the second time right as I was just few blocks away from Castlehill, then he answered.
“Hello?” he replied, and I felt a little bit of relief.
“Hello?! Markian? Oh, thank God your alive.” I stated in a rush.
“What?” he asked confused.
“I called your home and they said Livy made lunch for you? Please… do not taste anything that witch sets before you, I’m almost at the company. I’m on my way to your office.” I stated hurriedly before ending the call.
I soon pulled up at Castlehill’s entrance and rushed inside. I had heels on so I couldn’t run, I just walked very fast to the elevator and pressed the floor of Markian’s office.
I barged into his office with such haste that I didn’t even reply to his secretary’s comment that he was having his lunch.
“Markian, please don’t eat that!” I yelled out loud, scaring Markian’s secretary who followed me in.
Markian looked up at me and I could tell he was surprised at my outburst, but most especially it seemed like he hadn’t started eating yet.
Thank God…
