When Yolanda Taylor put down her chopsticks, Gwen Fox across from her couldn’t help but frown, “Full?”
The amount of rice she ate today was only one-half of her usual amount, and associating it with the fact that Yolanda Taylor’s mood seemed to have been off since she came out of the mall, Gwen Fox felt more and more out of place.
Yolanda Taylor sipped her soup and gave a soft “hmmm”, looking up to see him looking at her, she added, “Beth Garcia said today that I’ve gained weight again, I’ve gained ten pounds in the past two months, and my weight is going up a little fast, so I’m trying to get it under control. ”
Gwen Fox looked at her for a moment, “You’re not fat.” “But if you keep eating like that, you’ll gain weight.”
He didn’t say anything else, “Then you finish that bowl of soup.”
“Okay.”
During this time the maids always had soup four days a week, and Yolanda Taylor, who used to be one of the people who didn’t drink much soup, was now used to it.
It’s just that the soup that she used to find delicious and flavorful now tastes tasteless in her mouth.
She bowed her head and finished the bowl of soup, drew a paper towel and wiped the oil stains around her mouth while speaking, “I’m full, I’m going up to read some information.” Gwen Fox nodded, “Don’t read if you don’t feel well, Dr. Harvey will be here at eight.”
Yolanda Taylor wasn’t uncomfortable anywhere, if she had to say, she just had a hard time with her heart.
It seemed to her that fate always liked to play tricks on her, she wanted to let herself off the hook and let Gwen Fox off the hook and start over and get on with her life.
But none of it seemed to work, there was always one thing after another that surfaced that she couldn’t handle.
It was hard for her to convince herself to let it go, let it go, people die like lights, even if she did get revenge on Gwen Fox what’s the point, her mom can’t come back to life either.
Yet today, someone told her that Gwen Fox’s so-called revenge back then was nothing more than bullying and hate transfer.
Her dad was obviously a victim too, but Gwen Fox pushed everything onto them.
Yolanda Taylor felt like she was going crazy, she really was.
“Dear, Dr. Harvey is here.”
Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment when she heard Gwen Fox’s voice.
She blinked for a moment before realizing she had tears under her eyes.
She hastily drew a tissue and pressed her eyes before responding, “I know, send Dr. Harvey in.”
As soon as her words left her mouth, the door to the room was pushed open.
A man carrying a medical kit followed Gwen Fox in, Yolanda Taylor sat on the couch and smiled faintly at the man, “Dr. Harvey.”
“Mrs. Fox, President Fox said your stomach wasn’t feeling too good, can you tell us how?”
Gwen Fox had sat down next to her, and the scent of his body came over her, overwhelming her.
But she was only able to pretend that she didn’t know anything, “Nothing, just a little nausea and some bloating at times I guess.”
Dr. Harvey nodded, “That’s not a big deal, just pay attention to some rest in general.”
He said, pulling out his listening device, “Ma’am is it convenient for me to listen to the echoes of your belly?”
“Uh-huh.”
Five minutes later, Dr. Harvey said the same thing.
Gwen Fox stood, “I’ll see Dr. Harvey off.”
Yolanda Taylor nodded and watched the two walk out one after the other.
“President Fox, stay.”
At the entrance to the villa, Dr. Harvey turned back and raised his hand to block Gwen Fox’s continued stride.
Gwen Fox stopped and looked at him, “Is it normal?”
“President Fox don’t worry too much, Mrs. is already ten weeks pregnant, some pregnancy reactions are normal.”
Dr. Harvey said and added, “At twelve weeks, President Fox can bring Mrs. to the hospital for a checkup.”
Gwen Fox nodded her head, “You go back.”
“Okay, President Fox.”
Dr. Harvey had left and Gwen Fox stood in the doorway but never moved.
He had lied to Yolanda Taylor.
The so-called March Agreement was just to stabilize the fetus, and after three months, he categorically could not let her go.
But he also knew that after three months, he had a hard battle ahead of him.
The harmony of these days has given him the illusion of going back to the beginning, and he covets Yolanda Taylor’s gentleness, and the two of them getting along so well.
Gwen Fox didn’t know how much longer he could keep this lie to himself.
Yolanda Taylor finished her shower and came out, Gwen Fox had already returned.
She let her hair down and walked over to the dresser, looking at herself inside the mirror, remembering Beth Garcia’s words, she couldn’t help but look down at her breasts.
“What are you looking at?”
The man’s voice came from behind her, Yolanda Taylor hastily retracted her eyes and raised her hand to touch her face, “Nothing, today Beth Garcia said I’ve gained weight.”
Gwen Fox pulled her hand down and squeezed it herself, “That’s better.”
She inclined her head at him and lifted her hand to take his, “Gwen Fox.”
“Hmm?”
“Are you really going to let me go in three months?”
He looked at her as well for a few seconds before speaking, “Is it bad that we’re like this?”
He said, leaning down and hugging her.
Yolanda Taylor looked ahead and mumbled, “Is it good?”
“Good.”
He kissed her sideways, his breath a little hot, as if trying to prove something.
But after kissing her for a moment, he suddenly stopped, “I’m going to take a shower.”
With that, he let go of her, “I’ll do what I promised you.”
“Go take a shower.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t continue the conversation and turned to walk up to the bed.
Yolanda Taylor was asleep when Gwen Fox came out of the shower.
He walked over to her cautiously, thinking about what she’d just said, only to feel a pang in his heart.
She wanted to leave.
Yolanda Taylor was awakened by a nightmare and sat up violently from the bed, followed by Gwen Fox.
She was still shaking from the nightmare.
Gwen Fox turned on the night light, raised his hand and hugged her into his arms, “Did you have a nightmare?”
“I had a nightmare, Gwen Fox.”
She raised her hand to catch his hand holding her, so strong that her fingers pinched the back of his hand straight up, her nails almost pinching out cuts.
Gwen Fox looked down and kissed her, “Just a nightmare.”
Yolanda Taylor blinked, tears running directly from the corners of her eyes, “But it wasn’t like a nightmare.”
It was like it was real and it really scared her.
“Don’t be scared, it was just a dream.”
Yolanda Taylor cried for a while before she spoke, “I want some water.”
“I’ll pour it for you.”
He said, turning to get out of bed, but he didn’t want Yolanda Taylor to pull on his hand.
Gwen Fox turned around to see her looking at him with teary eyes.
He only felt as if his heart was hit hard by something, “Good girl, don’t be afraid, I’ll carry you over.”
With that, he carried her entire body like a small child.
After drinking the water, Yolanda Taylor calmed down emotionally.
She also had to go back to bed and just sat on the couch leaning on Gwen Fox’s shoulder, having a word about the past.
“Dear–”
Gwen Fox thought she was going to say something embarrassing about the past and couldn’t help but call out to her, but she didn’t want to hear all of her talking about what happened during those three years.
She said how she fell in love with him, how she loved him, how bad-tempered he used to be, and how hard it was for her every time he got angry.
Then her voice trailed off, and in the end, it was completely silent, and Gwen Fox looked down, only to realize that the person in her arms had fallen asleep.
He looked down and kissed her cheek, “Good girl, I love you too.”
