When she came out from the bathroom, it was already almost eight o’clock, Gwen Fox put her on the bed and pulled the quilt over her before picking up her cell phone and asking someone to send food over.
This apartment is only forty or fifty square meters, Yolanda Taylor lying on the bed, can clearly hear what he said.
She remembered what Gwen Fox had just said inside the bathroom and just felt her whole body go cold.
How could he still have the face to ask her to give him a child?
How dare he?
Thinking about that child that she had never met, Yolanda Taylor finally couldn’t hold back her tears.
After so many years, that thing was like a thorn in her heart, stabbing deep, usually nothing, but once someone touched it, it made all her limbs hurt.
Gwen Fox finished her phone call and came back to see Yolanda Taylor on the bed, her whole body shrinking.
Her head was tucked inside the covers and he couldn’t see her expression, only looking at it for a moment before realizing that the covers were shivering.
Gwen Fox stiffened for a moment, and he wanted to go over and pick her up, but knew that if it wasn’t for him, she probably wouldn’t be this uncomfortable.
There were clearly two people inside the room, but one stood too afraid to come forward, and the other cried silently inside the quilt, so that the silence was like the calm on the eve of a storm, depressing and agonizing.
I don’t know how long it took for the quilt covering Yolanda Taylor to stop shaking before Gwen Fox lifted her leg and walked over.
He sat on the edge of the bed and just raised his hand and slightly lifted the quilt, allowing Yolanda Taylor’s face to be exposed.
When he saw Yolanda Taylor’s face, he just felt as if his heart had been captured by something hard, smothered in unbearable pain.
Probably too tired, Yolanda Taylor fell asleep, only her face was streaked with tears, even the tops of her eyelashes were adorned with tears.
Gwen Fox went downstairs and got a wet washcloth and wiped the tears off her face a little at a time.
Yolanda Taylor was awakened when the doorbell rang.
She opened her eyes and looked at Gwen Fox, who was sitting beside her, her eyes a little blank, probably unresponsive.
“Dinner was brought over, I’ll go downstairs and get it.”
Gwen Fox retracted his hand and looked at her as he spoke, then turned and went downstairs.
Yolanda Taylor watched his back until he disappeared down the stairs before she propped herself up on the bed and sat up.
With the events of an hour ago fresh in her mind, she looked inside her closet for a dress to put on.
She was zipping up the back of the dress with her hands behind her back when Gwen Fox came up.
“I’ll help you.”
Yolanda Taylor turned her back and pulled the zipper up herself, then crossed to him in her slippers and went downstairs.
It was almost nine o’clock now, and Yolanda Taylor was a little sick to her stomach from hunger.
She took her own meal at the table and ate it in silence.
Gwen Fox sat beside her and looked down at her for a moment, but finally said nothing.
Neither of the two spoke, and the inside of the room was quiet.
Yolanda Taylor had just put down her chopsticks when the doorbell rang.
Gwen Fox gave her a look, “I’ll get it.”
She didn’t say anything, she just didn’t move and just watched as he walked to the foyer and opened the door.
“Hello, is this the delivery Miss Taylor ordered?”
“Uh-huh.”
Gwen Fox looked at the paper package, reached out and took it, closing the door and putting it in front of Yolanda Taylor’s eyes, “You’re not feeling well, shall we go to the hospital?”
He knew he had hurt her in the beginning, Yolanda Taylor just looked at him before ripping the paper bag open and taking the medicine out of it.
Gwen Fox’s face paled when she saw the box of pills and he reached out and snatched them up.
“Give it back!”
Yolanda Taylor looked up at him coldly and held out her hand, motioning for him to give back the emergency pill.
Gwen Fox’s hand with the medicine got closer and closer, the box of pills was crushed in his palm and he still didn’t give it back to Yolanda Taylor, “You can’t take it!”
“Give it back!”
She repeated again and Gwen Fox’s face sank as he took that pill box and went straight into the bathroom.
Yolanda Taylor realized what he was going to do and jumped out of her chair in a hurry to catch up.
By the time she got to the bathroom, Gwen Fox had already squeezed all the pills inside into the toilet.
She reached for it, but couldn’t grab anything, and was stopped by one of his hands.
“With a swipe, the pills were blown away by the water.
Yolanda Taylor was shaking with anger, she was ovulating today and Gwen Fox hadn’t done anything about it just now inside the bathroom.
“It’s about time we had a baby.”
He held her hand and looked back at her.
“Slap,” Yolanda Taylor raised her hand and slapped him as the words left his mouth.
She used all the force she could muster as the slap landed on his face, and five slap marks quickly surfaced on Gwen Fox’s cheek.
“In your dreams!”
Yolanda Taylor gritted her teeth and turned to walk up the stairs.
Gwen Fox raised his hand to touch his face and inclined his head, and there were five fingerprints on his cheek inside that mirror.
He raised his hand and touched it, then turned and walked up the stairs as well.
“Not going back to the villa tonight.”
The response to him was undoubtedly silence.
Yolanda Taylor was fast asleep, and Gwen Fox tentatively touched her face, and when she didn’t move, he moved back toward the bed before carefully circling the person in his arms.
He was afraid of waking her up, and he didn’t even dare to amplify the strength of his embrace.
When his cell phone vibrated, Gwen Fox frowned and unhappily let go of his hand, picking up the cell phone on the side.
Seeing the caller ID, he lifted his leg down the stairs before pressing the answer button, “It’s me?”
“Ask Yolanda Taylor where Heather went for me.”
The call was from Ham Rodriguez and Gwen Fox didn’t even think about it, “She doesn’t know.”
“Gwen Fox, I’m not negotiating with you right now! If she doesn’t talk, I’m going to have to take her to court and put her in jail until Heather shows up! Don’t you forget how that lot ended up in Primo Jones’ hands this time!”
Ham Rodriguez is mad, he can’t find Heather, he’s hard on himself and he doesn’t want to make anyone else feel better, “She doesn’t love you! Don’t you fool yourself Gwen Fox, she loves Primo Jones!” “It’s Heather who doesn’t love you!”
Gwen Fox simply cut off the phone, but Ham Rodriguez’s words kept echoing in his ears like a magic spell.
He wanted to smoke, but only when he felt in his pocket did he remember that he hadn’t smoked in six months.
Ham Rodriguez’s words had ripped the brutal truth out and put it in front of his eyes, something he’d never wanted to face, but he’d held his head down to face it.
Gwen Fox craned her head to look up, and after a long moment, he lifted his leg and walked up.
Yolanda Taylor was already asleep, and it was only after she was asleep that she didn’t have an icy face for him.
Under the light, that palm-sized face was much softer.
He couldn’t help but feel his eyes burning as he remembered the three years or so that she had followed him.
She used to love him so much, but now, she only hated him.
Just thinking about it made Gwen Fox feel like he was going crazy.
Afraid that he wouldn’t be able to resist doing something if he stayed any longer, Gwen Fox turned around and left the apartment downstairs after leaving the night light on.
The night wind was a little cool, he went into the kiosk downstairs and bought a pack of cigarettes, just stood there in the aisle and smoked one after another.
It wasn’t until the third one was smoked that Gwen Fox walked to her car.
