Yolanda Taylor was a little out of breath from his smothering, and finally couldn’t help but push him hard, “I can’t breathe!”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox also let go.
He looked down at her, the emotions inside the bottom of his eyes not yet fully retracted.
Yolanda Taylor froze for a moment when she saw the disenchantment and pain inside his eyes, but soon, she came back to her senses.
She had also turned around from yesterday’s events, and after a good night’s sleep, she was much clearer.
The sun was already shining brightly outside, and Yolanda Taylor checked her cell phone; it was almost ten o’clock.
She couldn’t help but glance at Gwen Fox, “Don’t you have to go back to the office?”
“Nothing much.”
He sat up as well, cuddling up a bit lazily under the covers.
Having just woken up, Gwen Fox’s hair was a bit disheveled, cutting down on the morose coolness he usually had inside.
Yolanda Taylor lifted the covers and got out of bed, the coolness of the air conditioning making her shrink.
Gwen Fox was leaning over the bed to take a phone call when she came out after washing up.
Seeing her come out, he tilted his head to look at her and responded carelessly to the person on the other end of the line, “Uh, just tomorrow night.”
With that, he hung up the phone.
Yolanda Taylor went into the checkroom and soon, she came out changing her pajamas into a dress.
Gwen Fox looked at her and her eyebrows twitched, the knot in her throat rolling slightly, “Lewis asked Augustus out tomorrow night.”
Yolanda Taylor ruffled her hair, “I know.”
She finished and sat down at her dresser, looking a little pale and hesitating to put on light makeup.
After breakfast, Yolanda Taylor went back to the studio.
Seeing her return, CoCo told her about the call from Robin City’s side.
Yolanda Taylor occasionally took orders from Robin City, but since she wasn’t always there, she was rarely asked by name.
But yesterday afternoon, someone said they wanted Yolanda Taylor’s designs by name, so they called to ask what Yolanda Taylor meant.
Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips and let CoCo communicate, “I may not be able to get away to go over there for the time being, I can produce the design, if the other party doesn’t have a problem with it, I don’t have a problem with it either.”
CoCo also worked in front of Yolanda Taylor for more than half a year, she understood what she meant by this, “I know, I will communicate with that side now.”
Yolanda Taylor nodded her head and went into the office.
She hadn’t turned on her computer for long when Primo Jones’s call came through.
Yolanda Taylor saw the incoming call, and that’s when she remembered that Primo Jones was the one who arrived first before Gwen Fox came yesterday.
Just because she knew nothing else had happened to her yesterday didn’t mean Angela hadn’t done something else to her.
Just to be on the safe side, she asked Primo Jones, “What was going on with me when you came in yesterday?”
Primo Jones was a little embarrassed as he thought about yesterday’s afternoon, “You were undressed, but covered, and the clothes that came off were thrown inside through the doorway, and it looked rather passionate.” Yolanda Taylor’s face was also a little hot, but there was no need to be euphemistic about her relationship with Primo Jones, so she simply asked directly, “Do you think Angela could have a picture of me in her hands?”
Hearing her words, Primo Jones was rarely baffled for a moment, “Angela was outside when I arrived, and I got there around 1:40.”
There might not be enough time for anything else, but the photo shoot would only take a few minutes.
Yolanda Taylor counted the time and pursed her lips, “I got it in my mind, thanks for yesterday.”
“It was nothing. Did Gwen Fox give you a hard time?”
“No.”
She didn’t want to say more about what happened between herself and Gwen Fox, and Primo Jones had the good sense not to ask.
Hanging up the phone, Yolanda Taylor recalled yesterday’s time, she left the wedding site around 1:10, talked with Angela in the cafe for about six or seven minutes, Primo Jones arrived at 1:40, a difference of about twenty minutes.
Angela had to get her into the room and undress her in those twenty minutes, which wasn’t really enough.
But the photo shoot was just a matter of minutes, and Yolanda Taylor had no idea whether Angela had a picture of her or not.
She couldn’t think of anything else to do with her eyes glued to the computer.
Gwen Fox came over to pick her up at less than six in the afternoon.
When Yolanda Taylor saw Gwen Fox, she took the initiative to speak for the first time, “Angela might have a picture of me in her hand.”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s face instantly sank, “She wouldn’t dare do anything.”
Yolanda Taylor looked up at him, that wasn’t the least bit convincing in the end.
If Angela really had her picture in her hand, no one could stop her from doing anything.
Yolanda Taylor had been distracted all day and didn’t react much when her hand was taken over by Gwen Fox.
“Don’t be afraid Dear, I’ve informed Augustus, she won’t dare do anything.”
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him and suddenly asked, “Do you know why she hates me so much?”
“Why?” If he remembered correctly, Angela and Yolanda Taylor weren’t at odds from the start.
He had a bit of a friendship with Augustus, Angela was his sister and he was with Yolanda Taylor at the time, and when they first met, Angela seemed to be on nodding terms with Yolanda Taylor.
Then after a few months, Yolanda Taylor was pushed inside the lake by Angela.
That time he remembers, business trip back to hear Yolanda Taylor cold, just off and on for half a month are not well, he was upset and angry, let Lewis to check, a check only to find Angela pushed her inside the lake.
He’d asked Lewis to knock Angela out then, and Angela hadn’t seemed to do anything about it, but six months later she’d done it again.
Only this time it wasn’t the lake, it was the pool, at a dinner party.
Angela had a good sense of proportion, not enough to kill Yolanda Taylor, but enough to make her feel bad.
He’d been so angry that he’d had Angela held down in the pool for the night.
Later, Angela seemed to have left the country, and Yolanda Taylor was left with only Xenia Davis, someone who had a hard time with her and set her up.
Yolanda Taylor asked out of the blue, and he didn’t know why.
“I had a friend from college, same high school as me, he confessed his love to me in high school and I rejected it. Then when he went to college, there was a rumor going around the school that I was your lover, and he was pushed down the stairs when he argued with someone rightfully, and the person still hasn’t woken up.”
Yolanda Taylor said this with little expression on her face.
Gwen Fox, however, couldn’t help but tighten her hand; she said nothing, but it was harder for him than saying everything.
A large part of the reason for this was him.
He was the one who intentionally went to the school to pick her up in the first place on a high note, and then when rumors like that came out, he intentionally let it go around for a while before letting Lewis take care of it.
Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips for a second, “Angela likes him, and she said that she won’t let me go as long as Rickey doesn’t wake up.”
After saying that, she shook off his hand and raised her leg to the car, pulling the door open herself and getting in.
This incident had nothing to do with Gwen Fox directly, but a great deal of indirectly.
She was very ignorant of what happened back then, and when she thought about it later, she also knew why with Gwen Fox’s ability, she was still able to let news like that spread inside the school for so long.
If he didn’t do it on purpose, who could help him?
