Gwen Fox frowned a little, glancing at Ham Rodriguez, wanting to say something, but Yolanda Taylor was already walking away with Heather.
He finally said nothing and lifted his leg to catch up.
Never mind, he was on his own.
Walking out of the hotel, an oncoming gust of wind stopped both Yolanda Taylor and Heather in their tracks.
Heather inclined her head at Yolanda Taylor, “I didn’t push her.”
“I know.”
Yolanda Taylor just felt a lump in her throat, but she didn’t know what to say.
She understood how Heather felt, she was the same way back then.
Gwen Fox quickly chased her out, Heather glanced at Gwen Fox, “Yolanda, you have to realize that Gwen Fox and Ham Rodriguez are essentially the same kind of person, Ham Rodriguez did this to me today, and some other day Gwen Fox will do the same to you. ”
“Heather!”
Gwen Fox’s face was covered in gloom, Heather heard him and looked at her before smiling, “You might be a little luckier than me though, neither are good people, but Gwen Fox at least loves you.”
She said, drawing back her hand, “I’m off before Gwen Fox eats me later.”
She finished, turning around and walking towards the door in no hurry.
Yolanda Taylor wanted to go after her, but she knew that it might not be good for her to do so, and that Heather should need to be left alone to calm down.
Gwen Fox came forward with her jacket and draped it over her, “It’s cold out here, let’s go back.” Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “Gwen Fox, you and Ham Rodriguez are really one of a kind.”
After she finished speaking, she broke away from his hand and walked straight ahead.
Gwen Fox’s face turned white, only to feel that all the efforts of these days were destroyed by this farce today.
Undeterred, he went after her and followed Yolanda Taylor to her car.
Gwen Fox opened the flap, which slowly rose, separating the compartment into two worlds.
“I’m not Ham Rodriguez, I wouldn’t do this to you.”
He reached out to touch Yolanda Taylor’s hand, but realized her hand was cold.
Gwen Fox took her hand in hers, “Dear, I’m me, Ham Rodriguez is Ham Rodriguez, and I will never be him.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t want to talk, but Gwen Fox beside her kept yakking away, she finally couldn’t help but speak up, “It’s only been so long Gwen Fox, have you forgotten that you did this to me once too? Do you want me to remind you?”
As she said that, she suddenly laughed a little, “You’ve done worse things than Ham Rodriguez, have you forgotten so quickly?”
At her words, Gwen Fox’s face suddenly went white, “Dear-”
“You’re all like that, do as you please, when you don’t like it you’re rags, throw it away as much as you like, when you like it you pick it up and force people to keep it.”
Yolanda Taylor closed her eyes, “But from start to finish, what did we do wrong? We just fell in love with you guys because we did.”
She had made mistakes too, so now, she was going to change them.
The night outside the car window nickers, and Yolanda Taylor suddenly remembers that this was the scene that day, Heather sipping her wine as she says, “But I’ve loved Ham Rodriguez for thirteen years, thirteen whole years, and that’s enough time to have a baby and get married if you’re in ancient times! He still doesn’t love me.”
Gwen Fox looked at the side of her face, he wanted to retort but couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
Yolanda Taylor wasn’t wrong, he had been this cruel once.
Neither of the two spoke, and the carriage grew quiet.
Yolanda Taylor has been silent, Gwen Fox thought Yolanda Taylor fell asleep, he moved a little, moved to her side, but did not want to her inclined head to look at him.
Inside those eyes was anger and hate, and his heart stung as he lifted his hand and took her into his arms, “We’re going to be okay, Dear, we’re going to be okay.”
“Yeah?”
She laughed a little, thinking Heather was really right, this was farcical.
It was still early when they got back to the cottage, just before nine, and Yolanda Taylor gathered her clothes and went into the bathroom.
Gwen Fox sat on the edge of the bed, looking at the closed door to the bathroom with a hidden look on his face.
He now resented Ham Rodriguez a little bit, tonight he and Yolanda Taylor had a good time, but because of that Jane made such a mess.
He didn’t know Heather, but he knew there was no way Heather would do something like that.
He couldn’t believe that Ham Rodriguez didn’t know, that Ham Rodriguez knew, and yet he still made Heather apologize in a way that looked like a joke to outsiders, and that ended up with Yolanda Taylor bringing up the old story with him.
He didn’t want to bring it up at all, it was like a scar that went deep into his bones, and every time he tried to snap at it, it hurt like hell.
But it was always brought up around him, indirectly, directly, and he couldn’t avoid it if he wanted to.
Yolanda Taylor soon emerged from inside the bathroom, and when she did, Gwen Fox was sitting on the edge of the bed wondering what to think, her face a little hostile.
Hearing her footsteps, he raised his head to look at her, and when his line of sight landed on her face, the hostility on Gwen Fox’s face dispersed a lot.
He inclined his head to look at her, wanting to say something but having no way to say it, in the end he also went into the bathroom.
Probably remembering herself back then, Yolanda Taylor witnessed such a farce, and having not dreamed about the past for a long time, she suddenly did tonight.
She sat up from the bed with a sweat stain, and the suffocating despair inside the dream extended all the way to reality.
Beside her, Gwen Fox woke up as well, lifting her hand to turn on the light and looking down at her, “Another nightmare?” Gwen Fox looked down only to see Yolanda Taylor’s face pale as she sat there, her whole body still shaking.
He reached out and hugged her, “Just a dream.”
“Not a dream.”
She snapped, “It’s the truth.”
His hand froze, “Let me get you a glass of water.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say another word and watched his back.
After waking up in the middle of the night, Yolanda Taylor was a bit of a mess the next day.
The alarm clock on her bed went off so loudly that she frowned and turned it off.
She was just getting up when Gwen Fox came in; it was Saturday.
But inside the store, it was busier than usual on Saturdays, and she had to go to the store.
Yolanda Taylor went into the bathroom to wash up and when she came out Gwen Fox had just finished answering the phone, “Are you going over to the studio?”
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor looked up at him and faintly answered, “Uh-huh.”
She seemed to have come out of last night’s incident, but she was even colder in person.
Gwen Fox’s face sank, and her grip on her cell phone tightened a few points.
At nine thirty, the car was parked at the curb in front of the store, Yolanda Taylor unbuckled her seatbelt and was just about to get out of the car when Gwen Fox, who was on the side, suddenly spoke, “I’ll come over to have lunch with you at noon.”
“No, I’m busy today.”
“Then I’ll bring you dinner.”
Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips for a second, “Uh-huh.”
She didn’t want to make unnecessary arguments with him, and after she finished speaking, she directly pushed open the car door and got out of the car.
Gwen Fox looked at her back, a few points of hard feelings surfacing inside her dark eyes.
At this time, the cell phone rang.
Gwen Fox looked at the caller ID, it was Lewis’s, he pressed answer: “What is it?”
“President Fox, our reserve price seems to have leaked.”
Gwen Fox’s eyes flashed, “I’m going back to the office now!”
