The place was booked by Lewis, a French restaurant.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t really like French food, but she wasn’t about to tell Gwen Fox.
There wasn’t much point.
She hadn’t expected to run into Xenia Davis here, and she hadn’t expected Xenia Davis to be so downtrodden these days that she was reduced to working as a restaurant waitress.
Of course, as a waitress in this authentic French restaurant, the treatment is much better than that of a waitress in an ordinary restaurant, and the technical content is much higher, after all, those who like to come over here to dine are more Europeans, not to say that they can speak French, but at least they have to ask for English to be fluent.
Xenia Davis also did not expect to encounter Gwen Fox and Yolanda Taylor, she and Yolanda Taylor fight for more than ten years, although most of the time she is losing, but also not lost like today so embarrassing.
When she saw the two people, she subconsciously wanted to turn around and walk away, however, the windy weather of these past few days still made her a little timid.
This job was the best she could find, and if she lost it, she would have to go back to her old life of not having enough to eat, and Xenia Davis was really scared.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know how Xenia Davis had ended up in this situation, but she glanced across the table at Gwen Fox and somehow understood.
She suddenly felt that Xenia Davis was also quite pitiful, liking Gwen Fox for so many years, but never getting his favor.
The only time she had been the closest to Gwen Fox was when Gwen Fox used her to embarrass her.
Yolanda Taylor although always practiced with people, but also is not like to be pinched by the soft persimmon, Xenia Davis previously did those things to her, she today even if it is to fall on the well, but also is not what excessive behavior.
However, she suddenly lost the mood, after all, she herself was no better than Xenia Davis, so why laugh at others, let others also laugh at themselves.
She casually ordered some food and handed over the menu, “Just these two.”
After saying that, she looked down at the small short video of today’s wedding scene sent over by CoCo inside her cell phone.
Xenia Davis froze for a moment, not expecting Yolanda Taylor to not open her mouth to sneer at her.
But it was Gwen Fox she was more afraid of than Yolanda Taylor.
“Have you chosen, sir?”
Time passed and Xenia Davis had to speak.
As soon as the words left her mouth, the man inclined his head to look at her, and the look inside those dark eyes was so cold it sent shivers right through her.
“These two.”
Gwen Fox looked at her coldly for a moment, and after ordering, she placed the menu aside.
Xenia Davis collected the menu cards and turned to leave, not daring to linger a second longer.
“You’re not curious anymore?”
Gwen Fox looked across the table at Yolanda Taylor and couldn’t help but frown.
He’d always known that she and Xenia Davis didn’t get along, and he’d heard that they’d been fighting each other since high school and on and on.
During the three years they were together, Xenia Davis hadn’t missed out on Yolanda Taylor’s problems.
Sometimes she would put up with it, sometimes she couldn’t, so she would take his hand and beg him to help her out.
Those eyes of hers, when she looked at you, she didn’t even have to ask, so most of the time, she would just look at him and say a word or two about her grievances, and he would help her out.
This is probably not considered begging, at most it can only be considered pampering.
In fact, it’s not really begging, seriously speaking, Yolanda Taylor begged him only a few times, the only two times were after the separation.
He remembers those two times very clearly, so much so that when it’s quiet at night, he often remembers the way she looked at him that day, desperate and mournful.
He also did not know how he was ruthless at that time, he protected the woman for three years, real or fake, ordinary people should have a few points of compassion, but he did not.
Thinking of the past, Gwen Fox’s face is not very good.
Yolanda Taylor heard his words, turned off the cell phone screen and looked up at him, “Curious about what?” She said, paused, and looked at Xenia Davis, who was entertaining guests not far away, “Xenia Davis?”
“Uh-huh.” He answered, his dark eyes looking straight at her as if he was waiting for her to ask.
However Yolanda Taylor didn’t ask, she just smiled faintly, “I fought her for so long when I was younger, it’s actually rather pointless now that I think about it. I’m no better than her now, and since we’re all jokes and half-assed, why should I bother to joke about people and add to my own embarrassment?”
She said she was a joke.
Hearing her say that, Gwen Fox’s face stiffened.
Everyone was not yet seventy or eighty years old, and they all remembered exactly what they had said back then.
”Who’s the joke, Miss Taylor you need to know yourself.”
She remembered, and naturally he remembered.
It wasn’t a very good meal, after all, Gwen Fox thought Yolanda Taylor would be happy to see Xenia Davis down on her luck, but her reaction wasn’t anything special, she even laughed at herself for being a joke too.
After all these years, she remembers all the times he stabbed her in the heart.
So now, she was going to give it back, one at a time.
The car had just come to a stop when Yolanda Taylor unbuckled her seatbelt and got out.
Without looking back, she went straight from the garage inside the villa.
Gwen Fox sat in the car, looking at her back, he suddenly wondered if she would ever look back at herself again.
Will she?
Would she?
He realized that he was becoming less and less confident.
December was half over, and the year was drawing to a close.
Every year at Christmas, Yolanda Taylor and the girls are busy, doing their business is like this, this kind of holiday is the earning thing, so the vacation can only be after the holidays and then rest.
Yolanda Taylor recruited a wedding planner, intends to retire to the background, only as a planner, not as a director.
When Gwen Fox came, she was already ready to go, these days Gwen Fox will come over to pick her up for dinner, CoCo and they are used to it.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t refuse, she was suddenly a glass of plain water when she faced him, whatever he did was tasteless to her.
“The company’s annual meeting is this Friday.”
Hearing him say that, Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “Do you mean for me to attend?”
“Uh-huh.”
He was backing up the car, not looking at her, or perhaps afraid to.
Those eyes that used to be filled with love and tenderness were now only flat cold, and every time he looked at them, he felt as if his heart had been plucked out and ached.
He sometimes even wanted her to hate him passionately, and he didn’t want her to let him cut her down in such a bland manner.
They were stuck inside a dead end between the two of them that she wouldn’t come out of, and he couldn’t talk her out of it.
“I don’t want to go.”
Yolanda Taylor leaned back in her seat and looked sideways out the car window at the night.
“It won’t be long.”
Hearing him say that, Yolanda Taylor inclined her head and looked straight at him, “What do you want again?”
