Chapter 153 I’ll never lie to you again.

Book:Welcome To My Life Published:2024-6-3

Yolanda Taylor raised her hand and pushed him, but she couldn’t, he was holding her tight.
At this time, someone was taking pictures outside the half-open car window, Yolanda Taylor frowned slightly, before she could react, her forehead was kissed by Gwen Fox.
Her face went cold, “Get off me!”
“I know you don’t like it, but think about Dika Rothstein, after the wedding, he’ll be able to come out, so bear with me, okay?”
He was looking down at her when he said this.
The people outside looking at Gwen Fox only felt that he had a gentle brow and was calming Yolanda Taylor.
But only Yolanda Taylor knew that he was threatening her.
She looked up at him, and when her eyes crashed into those dark eyes, Yolanda Taylor finally stopped struggling.
“You’re holding me too tight.”
He loosened up a bit, but never quite let go of her.
Borden City wasn’t too big or too small.
It would take at least two and a half hours for the wedding car to make its way around the city.
By the time the car pulled up in front of the villa, Yolanda Taylor’s stomach had been hurting for over an hour.
From the time she woke up and put on her makeup until now, a full five hours or so, she hadn’t eaten anything except for some water.
Gwen Fox’s brows subconsciously furrowed when he touched her hand, “You’re not feeling well?”
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor only felt amused, “Didn’t you tell me to endure it?”
His face sank, “Where are you uncomfortable?”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t say anything, lifted her leg and walked directly into the villa.
the Fox family villa is full of people inside and out, but Gwen Fox’s real elders are not here.
He didn’t want Yolanda Taylor to toast anyone, so he didn’t let them come over.
Now that the Fox family relies on Gwen Fox, no one dares to call Gwen Fox’s bluff based on her status as an elder.
After entering the door, someone asked for a red envelope, Gwen Fox turned around and gave Lewis a wink, then took Yolanda Taylor up to the master bedroom on the third floor.
He turned and closed the door, blocking out all sound from outside.
Yolanda Taylor’s stomach ached and she didn’t want to argue with Gwen Fox, so she poured herself a cup of hot water and sat on the couch.
Gwen Fox closed the door and came over, squatted in front of her eyes, and caught her right hand: “Stomach ache?”
Her hand was as cold as ice, he took his palm and tried to warm her hand, but the next second, Yolanda Taylor pulled her hand back.
She didn’t say anything, just sipped at the hot water.
Gwen Fox watched her for a moment and turned to have food brought up.
Yolanda Taylor’s stomach was really hard, she didn’t embarrass herself any further, and after the food was brought in, she picked a bowl of porridge and lowered her head to drink it unhurriedly.
“You sleep a little longer, I’ll go out without disturbing you.”
Gwen Fox said, got up and went straight out of the room.
The second floor was bustling with activity, it was some of the people Gwen Fox had Lewis invite over, getting married was all about celebration, he didn’t like to be bustling, but he wanted to be with Yolanda Taylor for a long time.
Gwen Fox stood in the doorway for a while and turned toward the study.
He hadn’t slept all last night, and the thought of marrying her today was keeping him awake.
There was excitement and joy and a little bit of uncertainty.
He didn’t know if he had made the right or wrong decision, yet he had come this far, and right or wrong, there was no turning back.
Yolanda Taylor was woken up by Gwen Fox, and when she opened her eyes, she hadn’t reacted yet.
She stared blankly at Gwen Fox in front of her, the man’s eyebrows and eyes matched those of the man inside her dream, and for a moment, she didn’t know whether she was dreaming or had returned to reality.
“Gwen Fox.”
She called out to him, inside her voice was uncertainty and disorientation, her eyebrows and eyes were not as cold as in the past, reminding him of that one afternoon many years ago, when she had a nightmare and woke up looking at him in the same way.
Gwen Fox only felt a twinge in his heart and raised his hand to take her into his arms, “Dear.”
The familiarity of his scent jolted her awake, and Yolanda Taylor was shocked to realize that this was reality, not a dream.
She raised her hand and pushed him away as soon as Gwen Fox looked up, a coldness already on Yolanda Taylor’s face.
He hadn’t recovered from the cry of dependence she’d just given, and now that he saw her face full of coldness, Gwen Fox just felt like he’d been cut deeply, with blood dripping and pain.
Outside the door Lewis knocked, “President Fox?”
Gwen Fox looked back, “We should head over to the hotel.”
Yolanda Taylor looked up at him and got up to walk to the door.
Yolanda Taylor’s face finally changed for a moment when she saw the wedding setup.
But only for a moment, as she looked at Gwen Fox beside her and felt nothing but overwhelming irony.
What was this? Compensation?
But what kind of compensation was that to her?
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know where Gwen Fox had gotten so many people that the stage was filled with a thousand tables.
After the ring exchange, the emcee coaxed Gwen Fox to kiss her.
Under the spotlight, Yolanda Taylor watched Gwen Fox’s face come closer and closer, and she subconsciously tilted her head to the side.
The kiss landed on her cheek, and she looked at him, not moving or saying anything.
The scene she had envisioned the year she turned twenty-three was now realized, but she felt nothing but sadness.
The stage thundered with applause, and Gwen Fox looked into Yolanda Taylor’s eyes, and the hatred in them was like needles, sticking into him.
He pulled back, afraid to look at her again.
The two men popped champagne and the stage was filled with joy, yet Yolanda Taylor stood on the stage without a half-smile on her face.
The wedding lasted over two hours, and after the toast Gwen Fox took her straight out of the room.
The black limousine was in the darkness, Yolanda Taylor’s wedding dress taking up a large portion of the car seat.
Gwen Fox inclined his head to look at her, the shadowy light outside the car window shone on Yolanda Taylor’s face, making her look colder and colder.
He remembered that look he’d given her when he’d kissed her earlier in the spotlight and only felt his heart ache.
“Cold?”
He reached out and caught her hand at her side, and Yolanda Taylor jerked at it, didn’t draw it back, and stopped moving.
She inclined her head to look out the car window and spoke coolly, “Gwen Fox, are you satisfied?”
There was no semblance of joy within her tone, as if the person getting married tonight was not her.
Gwen Fox’s hand tightened slightly, only to feel that she, Yolanda Taylor, only had cold hands, while he even had a cold heart.
“Don’t worry, I’ll have Lewis send the evidence over to Dika Rothstein’s secretary tomorrow.”
It was only when she heard him say this that Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “I hope you do what you say you’re going to do.”
Gwen Fox’s eyes tightened, “Dear, I won’t lie to you.”
Yolanda Taylor let out a laugh, “You’ve lied to me not once or twice, even if you want to lie to me this time, I don’t have the leverage.”
When she said this, her person leaned against the back of that chair, her tone was cold, and the despair and self-deprecation that came through made people’s hearts clog up when they heard it.
Gwen Fox bowed her head, “I’ll never lie to you again.”
She didn’t say another word, just inclined her head and looked out the car window.
Lie or not, they couldn’t go back to the past anyway.
