Gwen Fox looked at her for two seconds, “You can make up your mind in a few days.”
He finished, his hand pulling over her suitcase, “It’s a bad day for cars.” Yolanda Taylor glanced at her suitcase, “I have plenty of time.”
“Then I’ll wait with you.” People were coming and going at the airport, and Gwen Fox was indeed right, the line for a cab was over twenty meters long, so if she insisted on waiting, she should be able to get a cab in two hours.
But she had an appointment at two o’clock, and Yolanda Taylor couldn’t afford to wait.
She inclined her head at Gwen Fox beside her, “You’re despicable, Gwen Fox!”
“Well, you’ve said that many times.”
He said it coolly, as if he didn’t care.
Yolanda Taylor stopped talking as well and turned away from the line of waiting cabs, “I have a client appointment in an hour and a half, and I’m not going to have lunch with you.”
“You’re not having lunch?”
“I’ll have my assistant order takeout.”
Gwen Fox gave her a look, “Hmm.” After getting into the car, Yolanda Taylor sent a message to CoCo before closing her eyes on the side of her head.
She didn’t want to see Gwen Fox or have any conversation with him.
It was quiet inside the car, and after the car got off the highway, it stopped at a traffic light.
Gwen Fox inclined his head to look at Yolanda Taylor beside him, she seemed to have fallen asleep, the coldness on her face was much less, the whole person looked very gentle.
In fact, her character has always been gentle and patient, in the three years she was with him, she never even lost her temper, and when she occasionally had a bad mood, she was able to adjust herself after half a day.
Only after that winter four years ago, everything changed.
The green light in front of her lit up, and Gwen Fox withdrew her gaze and restarted the car.
Twenty minutes later, the black Lincoln pulled up to the curb.
Yolanda Taylor, however, hadn’t moved yet; she was indeed asleep, having slept poorly last night, and was up at six this morning to catch her nine o’clock flight.
The cabin was well heated and drowsy, and she fell asleep not long after she got in.
It was one of the few times in over a year that the two of them had been at peace, and Gwen Fox couldn’t bring himself to wake her up; if he could, he would have liked her to sleep a little longer, so that at least he could grudgingly reassure himself that Yolanda Taylor didn’t really hate him all that much.
However, it was not to be, Yolanda Taylor’s cell phone vibrated and she woke up with a start, looking out the window of the car at the familiar, after two seconds of being stunned, Yolanda Taylor came back to her senses.
She lifted her hand to unbuckle her seatbelt and pushed the door straight open and got out of the car and around to the back.
Gwen Fox helped her take her suitcase down, and without a word or a look at him, she dragged it inside the store.
The Borden City winter wind was so strong it made your face hurt when it blew over.
Gwen Fox stood beside the car, looking at Yolanda Taylor’s back without looking back, the calmness of that half hour was torn apart, and his heart began to ache again.
Soon, Yolanda Taylor had turned around and went inside the store.
He lowered his head and lit a cigarette, and stood there for about a minute before he stubbed it out and got back into his car to leave.
After that day, Yolanda Taylor hadn’t seen Gwen Fox for another three days.
In fact that was just as well; she didn’t want to see him, much less have her wish.
She’d had an indescribable panic on her mind all morning before Quentin’s call.
Yolanda Taylor’s hands shook when she saw the caller ID, and she knew that something had happened to Dika Rothstein.
Dika Rothstein was indeed in trouble. The problems with the shipment were so serious that Dika Rothstein had been taken away straight away in the morning.
It’s not just a matter of failing that shipment anymore. If no one can prove that the shipment wasn’t Dika Rothstein’s, he’s going in and he’s going to have a hard time getting out.
Quentin was very direct, probably guessing that Yolanda Taylor didn’t understand the relationship, he used very shallow words.
Hanging up the phone, Yolanda Taylor’s face is very bad.
CoCo came in, just wanted to ask Yolanda Taylor tomorrow’s wedding decoration she will not go to the scene, but did not want to see her face white sitting there, lost in thought, so CoCo was shocked, she rushed in: “boss Yolanda, what’s wrong with you?”
Hearing CoCo’s voice, Yolanda Taylor came back to her senses, but when she thought of Quentin’s last words, her face still looked bad: “I’m fine, I won’t go to tomorrow’s scene, I have something to leave for a trip right now, if there’s anything you call me!”
She said, she had already shut down her computer and picked up her bag and got up to go out.
“Oh, I know.”
Yolanda Taylor was already out of the office when CoCo’s words fell.
She dialed Gwen Fox’s number as she made her way to the curb, no one answered the first time before she got through the second, “Dear, what’s up?”
“I need to see you.”
“Yes, you come to FG.”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t want to bullshit, “I’ll be there in half an hour!”
Just after hanging up the phone, a taxi just happened to be approaching, Yolanda Taylor quickly raised her hand and waved it down.
At the same time, FG’s high-level conference room.
Gwen Fox put his cell phone down and coldly swept a glance at the people in front of him, “You still have half an hour.”
As soon as his words fell, the executives under the stage were all startled, and after glancing at each other, they all didn’t dare to talk nonsense, and one by one they got up for no more than three or four minutes to finish the key points of the report.
Half an hour later, Yolanda Taylor got down from the taxi.
She didn’t like coming to FG, and she remembered vividly the first time she came over to Gwen Fox.
Lamar Fox hadn’t died yet, Gwen Fox was still the general manager, and that day her father, Kipling Taylor, had been hospitalized, and she had come to borrow money from Gwen Fox.
The receptionist said she could not go up without an appointment, she stood there in a hurry, just ran into Lamar Fox who came over to inspect, Lamar Fox let his secretary give her two hundred thousand dollars without saying a word.
But he didn’t just give her 200, 000 dollars, he also gave her a slap in the face.
Said what this little thing do not need to trouble to Gwen Fox, in the future she again have this kind of thing, directly to find him, and Gwen Fox also do not like someone always ask him for money, he is trying to the two of them a long time, do not want them because of this little money to produce what misunderstanding.
Lamar Fox had a kind smile on his face when he said those words, but for the life of her, Yolanda Taylor couldn’t forget the sarcastic look that the receptionist looked at her from the sidelines.
She couldn’t remember exactly how she left that day, only that her entire self-esteem had been reduced to its lowest point by Lamar Fox’s three words.
She’d obviously come to borrow money, but Lamar Fox had made her out to be a money-grubbing vampire who was with Gwen Fox just to get money.
“Miss Taylor?”
The gentle voice of the receptionist came and Yolanda Taylor snapped back to her senses as she looked at the smiling receptionist in front of her, all different from the one she had seen all those years ago.
Yet she knew deep down that her coming to Gwen Fox this time was no different than making a fool of herself.
Yolanda Taylor collected her thoughts and nodded, “Okay, thanks.”
As the words fell, she lifted her leg and followed the receptionist into the special elevator.
Until the elevator door closed, the receptionist was politely standing in that elevator doorway looking at her and smiling.
It was different from back then.
