Yolanda Taylor hadn’t realized that she would actually be brought back here by Gwen Fox after all these years.
She hadn’t actually looked back on her time inside this villa for many years, none of it had been good after all, even though it was back when she had separated from him and she hadn’t looked back on the almost year she had spent here.
But now that Gwen Fox had brought her back here, everything was familiar and unfamiliar, and the things that had been weighing her down in the deepest recesses of her mind were suddenly spilling out like water whose floodgates had been opened.
Yolanda Taylor woke up from her dream, the room was pitch black, she subconsciously raised her hand to turn on the bedside night light, but when she reached over to the side of the bedside table, she found that it was empty.
She frowned for a moment, half remembering that she wasn’t inside the apartment.
She turned on her side and felt for her cell phone, flicking the screen on and checking the time.
It was just after four in the morning.
Yolanda Taylor fumed for a moment before putting her phone back aside and laying back down on her bed.
Bad old stories were like nightmares, there were so many bad things between her and Gwen Fox, but he had to drag her down to remember them.
Waking up again, Yolanda Taylor was awakened by her cell phone ringing.
She hadn’t slept well the first part of last night and her head hurt a little when she opened her eyes.
She checked her phone for the time and realized it was already seven thirty.
Gwen Fox had gotten her away for eight days, and she hadn’t been able to do anything for those eight days, and with January coming up, she still had two wedding designs that weren’t even out.
With that in mind, Yolanda Taylor propped herself up on the bed and sat up.
After washing up, Yolanda Taylor realized that there were no clothes in the guest room that she could wear.
With a cold look on her face, she slammed the empty closet door shut and lifted her leg out and went straight to the master bedroom.
The door was unlocked and opened as soon as she twisted the handle.
Just as she pushed the door open, Yolanda Taylor saw Gwen Fox, who had just come out of the wash.
He stood in the bathroom doorway looking at her, “Are you in a hurry to get back to the studio?”
“Getting my clothes.”
She said, crossing over to him and heading straight into the checkroom.
As expected, the checkroom was almost entirely filled with clothes in her size.
She picked out a few at random, carried them back to the guest room, changed and went straight downstairs.
Gwen Fox’s movements were faster than hers, and she was already sitting inside the dining room.
The maid who came over at an unknown time was serving breakfast, Yolanda Taylor’s footsteps paused, but in a second, she continued to walk downstairs.
Just as she walked to the middle of the stairs between the first and second floor, Gwen Fox ran over, “It’s still early, eat breakfast first, I’ll take you back later.”
“No need, I called a car.”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s hand grasping her arm tightened a few points, and her black eyes sank.
Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “Let go.”
He didn’t let go, just looked deeply at her.
The two people just stood there for a while, after about five or six seconds, he loosened his hand, “Wait for me for a while.”
With that, he turned and ran up the stairs.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t wait for him and went straight downstairs.
The car she’d called hadn’t come yet, though, and Gwen Fox was already in front of her in her car.
“I’ll drive you.”
He leaned over and pushed open the passenger door, inclining his head to look straight at her.
“No need.”
Yolanda Taylor stood there, not moving.
Gwen Fox didn’t look very good as he looked at her for a moment, “I’ll help you get rid of the reporters outside the studio.” Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor finally inclined her head to look at him.
Gwen Fox always knew how to be able to get her to give in, and she didn’t want to give in, but she more than anything didn’t want to make another trip to the police station today.
That’s what those gossip reporters did, they liked to pick on the soft targets.
Peak commuting time, the car is not good, she looked at her cell phone above there are three people to take their turn to send a car, pursed her lips, and finally got into the car.
Just as she got in the car, Gwen Fox handed her a bottle of warm milk: “Auntie prepared it, sugar-free.”
Yolanda Taylor was a bit lactose intolerant, and drinking milk containing lactose often gave her diarrhea.
Hearing his words, she glanced at the milk in his hand for a long time before reaching out to take it.
Having barely eaten anything last night, her stomach wasn’t very comfortable this morning.
But if this person today wasn’t Gwen Fox, she wouldn’t have let herself suffer so much.
Seeing her take the milk, he finally started the car without saying anything else.
In the morning, the sky of Borden City was not very good, gray and cloudy, just like not waking up.
The car had just driven out of the villa area when Yolanda Taylor saw a car following her.
Gwen Fox was not to be messed with, but Gwen Fox’s news exclusives were compelling enough that there were plenty of people who rushed up to get beat up for money.
But Yolanda Taylor’s face is not very good, she knows what this means, means Gwen Fox simply did not let people to care about these things, in the future, but where she did not follow him around, then these gossip journalists are like disgusting followers like follow her.
Yolanda Taylor’s frown tightened at the thought.
When the car stopped, Yolanda Taylor didn’t know what she was thinking about, Gwen Fox inclined his head to look at the side of her face, and could clearly see that her frown was deep.
He actually knew what she was thinking, but there wasn’t anything he could do other than that so she could look at herself or keep her by her side.
A minute or so of red light passed and the green light came on.
Gwen Fox withdrew her gaze and stepped on the gas to start the car.
The sight of the familiar street scene was all it took for Yolanda Taylor to retrieve her thoughts, carrying the bag in her hand as she waited for the car to stop.
But in two minutes, the car stopped on the street next to her store.
The plaza wasn’t crowded yet at less than nine o’clock, and most of the businesses weren’t open.
She unbuckled her seatbelt, didn’t say a word or look at Gwen Fox, pushed open the door and directly got out of the car.
Just as she stepped out of the car, Gwen Fox in the driver’s seat opened his mouth and called out to her, “Let’s have dinner together tonight.”
The sentence he used was not a question, but an affirmation.
Gwen Fox was not asking her, but informing her.
Yolanda Taylor slightly inclined her head to look at him, said nothing, and directly lifted her leg to go inside the store.
Why would she want to eat with him?
It was ridiculous.
CoCo was the only one inside the store, no one else was back yet.
Yolanda Taylor looked back outside and didn’t find any reporters.
“Boss Yolanda, why are you here so early today?” CoCo turned on her computer and propped herself up on the front desktop to look at her with her head inclined.
Yolanda Taylor smiled, “Came back to catch up on pictures.”
She said and paused, “By the way, when you opened the store, did you find any reporters or anything like that?”
“Yes, here, on the second floor.”
Yolanda Taylor looked in the direction of her finger and realized that there were actually two men in the aisle on the second floor.
She couldn’t help but frown a little and glance at Gwen Fox, who hadn’t left yet.
He was sitting inside his car talking on the phone, and when he saw her looking over, Gwen Fox put the phone straight down and looked straight at her through the half-open window.
But Yolanda Taylor only looked at him for a second before withdrawing her gaze and turning back to her office.
