Gwen Fox watched her hit herself hysterically and his whole body was stunned when his eyes landed on the tear on the corner of her eye.
He watched as the tear ran down her cheek as if it were running down his heart, burning him all over.
He raised his hand and clasped her hand, holding back the bitterness in his heart, pulling the corners of his mouth and smiling a bit: ”Engagement ring is just that, throw it away, what’s the point. Anyway, you lied to me once, this is even a lesson I gave you.”
“What’s wrong with me lying to you?!”
She raised her hand and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, looking at him she couldn’t help but laugh sarcastically, “Gwen Fox, you really are awesome! When you cheated on my feelings back then, why didn’t you think that you would also have today?!”
“Do you think I’m still the Yolanda Taylor from back then? Being obedient and waiting for you to come back?”
“Hahaha! Don’t dream Gwen Fox!!! I’m here to settle scores with you this time, not to find you to get back together and make up! Get it straight okay? I don’t love you now, I’m hating you now, so please get this straight!”
I don’t love you now, I’m hating you now.
For the first time, Gwen Fox felt that words could hurt.
Word by word, every word of hers was like a thousand-pound stone hitting his heart, smashing him so hard that his blood splattered across the floor and he was in pain.
“The person I love now is Primo Jones. The person I’ll be with in the future is Primo Jones, not you Gwen Fox. You’re nothing more than a- in my eyes nowadays.”
“Shut up!”
Yolanda Taylor’s mouth was covered before she could finish her sentence.
But while he covered her mouth, he missed her eyes.
Inside the eyes that were once filled with tenderness and love, there was now only anger and hatred.
He couldn’t listen to what she was saying, and he couldn’t face the look in her eyes.
Gwen Fox never knew that Yolanda Taylor didn’t have to do anything, just looking at him like that was enough to kill him.
He’d been so full of joy that day thinking she’d finally changed her mind, but back in the fitting room there was nothing.
She knew he loved her, she knew he couldn’t let her go, she knew he couldn’t bear it, so she used his reluctance and intolerance to hurt her.
He’d never known that Yolanda Taylor could be so cruel.
Now, she was even more ruthless.
Tearing the brutal truths of those pasts out in front of his eyes, forcing him to face them.
“Dear, you don’t say angry things like that.”
He lowered his head against her forehead, trying to awaken the love she once felt with such tenderness.
But there was none, still nothing but hate.
Gwen Fox’s hand trembled, Yolanda Taylor directly peeled away his hand, looked at him and sneered, “Gaslighting? Gwen Fox, when, you will also deceive yourself and others like this?”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s entire body stiffened.
He raised his head to look at her, and within those eyes that were always high and cold, there was now only regret and overwhelm, “What do you have to do to forgive me?”
“Forgive you?”
Yolanda Taylor laughed outright when she heard his words, “Gwen Fox, you were the one who said in the beginning that I, Yolanda Taylor, owed you more than I could repay in a lifetime.”
“Now, I’ll pay you back for this sentence.”
A lifetime, so long, too long.
He wanted to bargain, but when he remembered the hatred inside the bottom of her eyes, he didn’t have the courage to open his mouth.
He never knew that he would actually have a day like this.
“This is my house, I’m giving you one minute to leave, and if you don’t, I’ll only be able to call the police.”
Yolanda Taylor calmed down and took a step back, looking at him coldly from a distance of half a meter.
Gwen Fox looked up at her again, “You’re determined to marry Primo Jones?”
“I live a clearer life than you do, and I’ll take my revenge, but I won’t condemn my own life either. I love Primo Jones, I marry him, it is a matter of course.”
I love Primo Jones. I married him. It was the right thing to do.
He never knew that Yolanda Taylor could be so eloquent one day.
Every sentence, every word, slammed down on his heart.
He suddenly realized that probably from that fire, he was forever in her debt.
Gwen Fox didn’t know exactly how he’d managed to leave Yolanda Taylor’s apartment. When he came out of the elevator, he reached for a cigarette, but he couldn’t feel his hand inside his shirt for a long time.
He subconsciously looked up when a pack of cigarettes appeared in front of him.
His eyes landed on Xenia Davis’ body, and his complexion chilled, “Why are you here?”
“Waiting for you, of course, Young Master Fox.”
Gwen Fox frowned a little, “I haven’t settled my score with you from last time.”
Xenia Davis blanched, but soon, she responded, “There’s something that I thought you might be interested in.”
“There is nothing about you that interests me.”
He said, lifting his leg and walking away.
Xenia Davis chased after him behind her, “Aren’t you curious as to why your parents just happened to get hit by a Kipling Taylor DUI back in the day?”
Hearing her, Gwen Fox finally stopped, “What do you know?”
“That depends on what Young Master Fox is willing to give.”
“Xenia Davis, did you think I wouldn’t dare to touch you?”
Seeing this look in his eyes, Xenia Davis’ heart trembled, “Don’t think too badly of me, I actually don’t want to ask you to do anything excessive.”
“Don’t bullshit me.”
Xenia Davis’s face stiffened, but she finally opened her mouth and said her request.
Yolanda Taylor and Primo Jones’ engagement party was still being talked about days later, and Yolanda Taylor, who was the one involved, started preparing for her new studio after the engagement party.
The original crew that was in Oman City was moved over by her, all except Taryn.
Yolanda Taylor knew that Taryn’s boyfriend had settled down in Oman City, and there was no excuse for her not coming over.
Because of the publicity from the engagement party, Yolanda Taylor’s wedding planning studio has gone through the roof, and many people have come to ask about it even before it’s been renovated, and some people have gotten hold of Yolanda Taylor’s private number and are already asking for prices.
Yolanda Taylor has been receiving a lot of calls in the past few days, but the studio renovation is not yet completed, plus she also wants to take a few more days off, she simply let someone post a notice that she will not take any wedding until the opening.
That was how her cell phone finally sort of died down, but it didn’t completely, and occasionally people still called to check in, but it was a lot better than it had been before.
Yolanda Taylor was in the middle of revising a design when Beth Garcia’s call came through.
She usually sketches out her designs when she has an idea, and then goes back and revises the ones that are most relevant to the client’s requirements, so that she doesn’t have a headache.
She has been back in Borden City for more than two months now, and this is the first time Beth Garcia has contacted her privately.
Yolanda Taylor was grateful for the help Beth Garcia had given her back then, so when she heard the other woman say she wanted to ask to meet, she didn’t say no.
