Yolanda Taylor looked at the smile on the edge of his lips and just felt like it was a small knife sticking into her body.
“You get out, I don’t want to see you right now!”
He frowned a little when he heard her say that, “You’re not fit to be so agitated right now.”
“Gwen Fox, you’re in no position to say that!”
She said, raising her hand and catching the glass of water on the side and throwing it straight at him.
He didn’t dodge, so he let the glass hit him on top of his forehead.
Warm water ran down his face, some splashing onto Yolanda Taylor’s hands.
She sneered, “What a shame to see half the blood.”
Gwen Fox gave her a look and drew a tissue from the side to wipe the water from his face, “You’ll get well if you want to come after me in person.”
With that, he turned and left the hospital room.
After seeing him leave, Yolanda Taylor finally couldn’t help herself, biting her arm and crying.
Those three years of amnesia were ignorant, but now once she regained her memory, everything from the past just rushed out, and all the emotions seemed to stop just like when that fire burned.
Now whenever she closed her eyes, she could remember the tragedy of her mom’s death.
That was the sight Dika Rothstein saw when she pushed open the door.
Startled, he rushed over to her, “Yolanda?”
At the sound of his voice, Yolanda Taylor stiffened in her hospital bed.
She raised her hand and wiped the tears from her face before raising her head to look at him, “Dika, I remember.”
Seven short words, but after seven years of hatred.
Dika Rothstein was stunned for a moment, suddenly understanding why she was like this.
He drew two tissues from the side and handed them to her, “I’ll take you away, okay?”
Yolanda Taylor reached for the tissues and wiped away the tears on her face before she spoke in a single word, “I’m not leaving, why should I?!”
In the past, she was the one who was stupid enough to want to die in front of his eyes, thinking that if she died, Gwen Fox would suffer.
But she realized now that if she died, she was really dead, and he was still alive, and he probably didn’t even feel half as guilty.
“Yolanda–”
Dika Rothstein tried to talk her down, but realized that he couldn’t say anything.
He knew that Yolanda Taylor and Gwen Fox were separated by one of her mom’s lives, and there was no way she was going anywhere.
“I’m sorry, Dika.”
Dika Rothstein was the person she owed the most.
But there was nothing she could do, nothing she could really do, to let the past just fall to dust.
Once Gwen Fox wanted her to live and die, now she wanted Gwen Fox to live and die.
Between her and Gwen Fox, perhaps from the beginning, it was destined to be a lose-lose situation.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, I just want you to be happy.”
Yolanda Taylor was stunned for a moment when she heard his words.
Happy? She probably wouldn’t feel that emotion for the rest of her life.
Yolanda Taylor ate a lunch inside the hospital and then had Dika Rothstein do the discharge paperwork to take her away.
Gwen Fox was right behind her when she was discharged.
Yolanda Taylor gave him one look before getting into Dika Rothstein’s car with her cane.
As the car drove away, Gwen Fox stood in the doorway of that hospital and watched her car drive away.
Yolanda Taylor looked at Gwen Fox in the rearview mirror and suddenly remembered that one day after they had separated, she had run into Xenia Davis and him, and she had stood in front of the hotel like that, watching his car drive away.
Would Gwen Fox feel bad? Hard would be right; she’d been hard that year, too.
Yolanda Taylor tugged coldly at the corner of her mouth, withdrew her gaze, and inclined her head to look out the car window.
After three years away, Borden City had changed quite a bit, and the scenery outside the car window flew by, unfamiliar yet familiar.
After that day, Yolanda Taylor felt like she’d disappeared for those three years again.
It wasn’t just Beth Garcia and Jerome Perot who couldn’t find her, but even Gwen Fox.
The wedding planning company she owned for those three years has closed and the staff has been laid off.
Dika Rothstein is still in Oman City, but Yolanda Taylor has disappeared, and no one knows where she went except Dika Rothstein.
When Gwen Fox found out that Yolanda Taylor had disappeared, he went to Dika Rothstein like a madman, holding her against a wall and asking her where she had gone.
Seeing him like this, Dika Rothstein suddenly laughed: “You want to know?” “Where did she go!”
“I’m not telling you!”
As soon as Dika Rothstein’s words left his mouth, there was a sudden gust of fist wind in his face as Gwen Fox’s fist landed on the side of his head, and a layer of ash fell from that wall.
He looked at Gwen Fox and his heart skipped a beat, if that punch had landed on his head, he would have been smashed straight into the ICU.
He raised his hand to break Gwen Fox’s, “There’s no use asking me, she’s not talking to anyone, you can’t find her and I can’t find him.”
Saying that, Dika Rothstein sat down on the sofa and poured himself a glass of red wine, “Back then, you held back to prevent her from leaving, and also killed her mom, forcing her to burn herself in a fire, all these scores, she remembers them clearly, and you don’t need to be anxious, sooner or later, she’ll come to you to settle the score one day.”
After saying that, he snorted coldly and kicked the couch beside Gwen Fox, “Get lost!”
With Yolanda Taylor gone, Gwen Fox unable to find anyone, and Lamar Fox once again critically ill, he was only able to make it back to Borden City from Oman City.
In the heat of July, Lamar Fox suddenly suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in the middle of the night on the twelfth, only this time he wasn’t as lucky as the previous times, and was sent to the emergency room for more than two hours, but in the end, he still couldn’t be saved.
Once Lamar Fox was dead, Daniel Fox and Craig Fox tried to blow Gwen Fox off the stage before he was even buried.
Gwen Fox, who had to deal with the aftermath of Lamar Fox’s death and fight for the family fortune with his two ill-intentioned uncles, was only able to send Lewis to find Yolanda Taylor.
Gwen Fox was at Lamar Fox’s wake when Lewis’ news came back.
“Young Master Fox, I found out that Miss Taylor was at the airport in Ritter City this afternoon with President Jones of the BEST Group, they were on a flight to Borden City at 5:00 p. m. today, and the plane was at 8:00 p. m. when it Landing.”
Hearing Lewis’ words, Gwen Fox frowned, “She’s with Primo Jones?”
Lewis on the other end of the line wanted to speak, “There’s one more piece of news, Young Master Fox.”
“Speak.”
He vaguely had a bad feeling, and sure enough, the next second, Gwen Fox heard Lewis on the other end of the phone speak, “Rumor has it that Miss Taylor has already gone to London with President Jones to meet the elders last week, and the two are planning to hold an engagement ceremony on the twenty-fifth of next month.”
“What did you say?!”
“Taylor, Miss Taylor and President Jones are together.”
Even through the phone, Lewis still felt Gwen Fox’s anger as he struggled to finish his sentence and was about to say something when the call was hung up.
Gwen Fox directly smashed the phone, his dark eyes looked at the phone on the floor, remembering Lewis’ words, his face was as cold as the cold snow on the high mountains.
