After dinner, Mr Lewis asked Mark Anthony to follow him to his study, he promised her daughter that he was not going to give Mark Anthony a hard time. Victoria stayed at the living room watching television. Mr Lewis pointed at the sofa and asked Mark Anthony to sit. Mark Anthony thanked him and sat down. Mr Lewis looked at Mark Anthony and said, “Victoria told me that she proposed to you?” Mark Anthony smiled, “yes dad she did, it was the best day of my life, I waited for her for twenty-six years. The first day I saw her I knew that she is my wife.” Mr Lewis was beaming, “I am satisfied with you son, and I don’t want to hide anything from you, when my company was facing bankruptcy, I tried to commit suicide, Mr Johnson approached me for cooperation provided my daughter Victoria marry his son, James Johnson. Victoria agreed to marry James Johnson for two years, their marriage was in name only.”
Mark Anthony smiled brightly, “thank you dad for telling me, the first time I found out that Victoria was married to James Johnson I was so sad and confused at the same time since I knew how much James Johnson loved Serene Logan. When Victoria told me why she agreed to marry James Johnson, I thought she was brave and kindhearted. I am so glad that she will be my wife and I am proud of her. I love Victoria with my soul dad. My relationship with my dad is not good but I am willing to forgive him for Victoria’s sake, she wants us to reconcile. I have never had a father figure in my life, I spent my life in boarding schools.” Mark Anthony’s eyes became red, Mr Lewis hugged him and said, “the Lord has blessed you with two fathers, don’t be sad son.” Mark Anthony laughed and hugged him back tightly.
“Dad, are you available this coming Saturday, I would like to come with my dad for betrothal gift.” Mr Lewis told him that he would be available then they went to the living room. When Victoria saw them laughing, she was relieved, she switched off the television and smiled at her father. “My beautiful daughter I am satisfied with my son in law, I am so happy.” Victoria rushed to her father and hugged him; she was so happy that her father approved of Mark Anthony. Should her father told her that he was not satisfied with Mark Anthony, she would listen to her father and forget about Mark Anthony. She trusted her father with her life. Her father was smiling from ear to ear, he told her that the Anthony family would be visiting them on Saturday for betrothal gift. Victoria was over the moon.
Mr Lewis excused himself and went to his bedroom. Victoria went to the kitchen to make tea. She came back with two cups of tea in a tray. Mark Anthony thanked her and said, “I am so happy that my father-in-law approved of me, I love you so much Victoria, I love you with my soul.” Victoria smiled shyly and said, “I love you more my handsome Mark, I am so happy that you are mine.” Mark kissed her and said, “I will visit my dad tomorrow, I will give you feedback afterwards.” They finished drinking tea, then Mark Anthony left. When he reached his home, he sent a text to Victoria saying that he arrived safely, and he missed her already. Victoria was so happy, she sent him kisses and wished him good night.
At the Michael residents it was Jason Michael’s birthday, but he was not happy, his company, Michael Group was facing difficulties. He was scared to contact his best friend Timothy Anthony because previously he gave him billions of rands, but he failed to pay him back. He woke up and kissed his wife and went to the living room, her lovely daughter Macy Michael was going to the living room as well. “Happy birthday daddy, may the Lord bless you with many more years.” said Macy smiling brightly to her father. Her father kissed her in both cheeks and said, “thank you my lovely daughter much appreciated. Why did you wake up so early today?” Macy smiled and replied, “I wanted to give you breakfast in bed daddy, I know that the company is facing difficulties I wanted to cheer you up and put a smile on your face.” Her father was beaming, “you indeed put a smile on my face, thank you so much my lovely daughter.”
At that moment his phone rang, “happy birthday my friend, how is your day?” asked Timothy Anthony laughing. Jason Michael was stunned; it’s been a long time since he contacted his best friend. Jason Michael replied, “thank you my friend, my day is looking good my daughter Macy cheered me up early in the morning, I am expecting great things to come.” Timothy smiled and said, “I am so glad my friend, how is your business doing?” Jason Michael sighed and said, “the business is not doing well, my competitor is very strong I lost so much money.” Timothy Anthony was shocked to hear that, “let me know if you need help my friend.” Jason Michael was reluctant to tell him since he was owing him billions of rands, “I need help my friend but when can I begin to ask for help from you since I haven’t paid my previous debt, I owed you.” Timothy Anthony laughed and said, “you are my best friend I will be available every time when you need me. How much do you need? Also, I am in good mood, when I was at His Wings restaurant, I saw my elder son Mark with his girlfriend, I am expecting good news.” Jason Michael was aware that Timothy Anthony was trying so hard to reconcile with his son Mark to no avail. “I am so happy for you, my friend; Mark will come around. If you can lend me one billion rands I think everything will be alright.” Timothy Anthony told him that he would transfer the money within five minutes. “Enjoy your day my dearest friend and best wishes.” Then he hung up.
