Diya PoV:
“Diya,” Shourya said.
I opened my eyes. Shourya looked at me as if I have escaped from a mental asylum. I found me leaned towards a pillar, and he is away from me. Does it mean this is all a dream? Didn’t he kiss me?
“Is everything okay?” Shourya asked, and I nodded.
I went inside the room and laid on my bed, thinking about the article against Shourya. I felt that I focused on my family than on my job. Tomorrow I should go to a temple where Ranveer will be visiting with Ala. I planned to irk him and make their relationship public. I have no intention of insulting Ala or her character, but I should bring out Ranveer’s real character before the public.
Shourya PoV:
Diya went inside the room and laid on the bed. I smiled, remembering my first kiss, which I gave to Diya just before a few minutes noticing her staring at my lips. However, I confused her, and she assumed that it’s her illusion. I found disappointment in her face. Does it mean that she expects me to kiss her? Wow, that would be romantic!
The next day I went shopping with Diya. I carefully observed her selection of dresses to understand her likes and dislikes. Of course, I know her preferences and dislikes already, but I still want to know more and more about her.
Suddenly a girl came to me and snapped her fingers at me. I came out of my thoughts and looked at that girl.
Oh, God! She is my crazy friend, Geetha. She is the one who knows about my love for Diya. What if Geetha reveals everything to Diya? Damn it! I cursed me for coming to this shopping.
“Shourya, how are you, man? What are you doing here? As far as I know you hate shopping. Then what made you to come here?” Geetha said, and I noticed Diya standing beside me.
“Who is she?” Diya said, and I found a smirk on Geetha’s face.
“I am his ex-girl friend, Geetha,” Geetha said, giving me a shock and provoking Diya.
This crazy girl decided to kill me. I don’t know how my Diya would react now. Only from the past few days, we became close to one another. I tried a lot to make Diya fall for me. But, Geetha ruined everything.
“Oh, I see! Nice to meet you. I am Diya, Shourya’s wife,” Diya said, stressing the last words.
Wow! Diya is possessive for me. I love this side of my wife. Diya suddenly held my arm, showing her right over me.
“Shourya, can you select a sari for me?” Diya said.
Selecting sari?? Me? I don’t know anything about sarees. But, if I say no, Diya may get hurt. I nodded, and Geetha burst out laughing. Diya glared at Geetha.
“Mrs. Shourya, being his wife, don’t you even know that he know nothing about stuff like sarees, dresses etc.”
“No problem, Geetha. Whatever my Shourya selects for me, it will be good on me. Because he is my husband and a husband knows well what suits for his wife. And a wife always feels happy to wear what her husband likes. Being an unmarried girl, you can’t understand this,” Diya said, and I noticed the pain in Geetha’s eyes. Sometimes we talk a few things for fun, but the situation changes entirely based on another person’s perspective. Diya was unaware of Geetha’s past, and assuming that she was my girlfriend, intentionally Diya talked that way.
“I am sorry, Geetha. I didn’t mean to hurt you,” Diya said, immediately realizing her mistake.
I decided to cut off the topic and select a sari for Diya. But I am unaware whether she will like it or not. We saw many sarees, but I didn’t want anyone. We bought the dresses selected by Diya and went to another shop. Geetha smiled at my efforts in choosing a sari for my wife.
Finally, I selected white coloured sari with a red border for Diya, but she blushed, seeing the sari. I looked at Geetha, but she stopped looking at me. I didn’t understand what happened to both of these girls.
“Don’t you like this saree?” I asked Diya.
Diya smiled but didn’t say anything. Her cheeks turned crimson red making her more beautiful.
“I love whatever you love,” Diya whispered, mixing her blush and cuteness into her answer.
I asked them to pack the sari. But sales girl said that sari is from a pack of three sarees and can’t buy a single piece. She showed two more sarees, which is white but with green and blue borders. Every saree is white in that pack except the color of the edge. I saw the box where something is written that made me feel shy.
“A pack of three sarees for the first night.”
I gulped, and then I understood the reason behind Diya’s behavior. There’s a ritual in India after the marriage, i. e., First night for the three nights. And the new bride preferably wears a white sari with a border for the ritual. I looked at Diya.
“Pack three of them,” Diya said.
We took the sarees, and Geetha gave a hug to me before bidding bye to us. We were in the car, leaving home, and Diya held my hand.
“Geetha is my friend, Diya. Nothing more than that. She just played a prank on you saying that she is my ex girl friend,” I said.
“It’s ok, Shourya. I trust you. If there’s anything like that, I am sure that you will share that with me. I didn’t take her words seriously.”
“By the way, do you have any past love, Shourya?” Diya asked, and I didn’t understand what to say.
“I loved someone in my college days,” I replied, and she gave a fake smile.
I think she got hurt. But she is the one whom I loved.
“Why didn’t you marry her?”
“I didn’t propose her. It’s a secret love. Very few in my circle knows about my love. I admire her for her courage and humanity. I love her so much,” I said.
I looked at Diya, and I noticed a few water drops escaping from her eyes, which she wiped off immediately. I felt happy to see her shedding tears for me.
“Diya, are you ok?” I asked.
“Yes. Do you think I will get upset knowing your past love? I mind the least about that,” Diya said very seriously.
Really? Just now, I saw tears in your eyes, my dear wife. I decided to tease Diya, but without hurting and making her shed tears. Her tears hurt me a lot.
