Chapter 628: Wake Up!

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Adrian cried out desperately.
In the water, his eyes could not open and he could only dimly see a figure standing on the shore, who seemed to be smiling at him.
Adrian felt even more panicked. This person was trying to kill him.
He tried to remember the swimming technique, but his mind was so scrambled that he could think of nothing else but to reach out and flap his hand.
His body was getting heavier and heavier and his mouth was full of disinfected water.
Adrian felt like he couldn’t breathe and was beginning to lose consciousness.
He didn’t expect that he would drown in his own pool before he was old enough. If he told, Matias and the others would laugh at him.
Adrian closed his eyes and slowly sank.
Diana remained standing on the edge as she watched Adrian struggle, and a desperate look appeared on her face.
Only when she saw that he was about to sink did Diana prepare to reach down and pull him out. Before she could enter the water, however, she saw a figure rush in and jump into the pool.
Diana was too stunned to react and watched as Albina grabbed Adrian’s head, held him afloat and then swam to shore with him in her arms.
She snapped out of it and tried to step forward when she saw Albina turn her head and glared at her.
-I’ve already called people, and they won’t be long in coming, so be smart and leave me alone.
Diana was so startled by the hard look in his eyes that she unconsciously stopped in her tracks and did not approach.
Albina was soaked to the bone, her clothes clinging to her body and her bulging belly was showing.
With great difficulty, she knelt down and gave the boy artificial respiration, pressing on his chest and giving him CPR.
Albina moved with a regular rhythm, but Adrian was very pale and unresponsive.
Albina’s eyes were red and she stared at Adrian.
-Adrian, wake up, wake up!
Once again, Albina bent down to give him artificial respiration and, as she closed her eyes, her tears fell on Adrian’s cheeks.
Adrian’s eyelashes fluttered.
When Albina squeezed the boy’s chest once more, Adrian let out a gush of water from his mouth and coughed violently.
Albina was filled with surprise, and slipped her arm around his shoulders.
-Adrian, you’re awake.
Adrian opened his eyes and looked at Albina, soaking wet and in a terrible state of disarray before him. All the fearful aggression burst in his heart as he was looked into her red, worried eyes.
-Sister Albina, I thought I was going to die. I almost died, I almost died….. -he cried out in a loud, clear voice.
She was happy to have survived and kept crying with a trembling voice.
The maids, Antonio and Bianca rushed to see the two children huddled together in a wet state, and Diana standing on another side with a dry body.
They hurried to wrap the pair of children in large towels.
-Quick, take them to their rooms to change and take a hot bath. Go to the kitchen to make ginger soup. Quickly! -Bianca ordered quickly.
The maids immediately did as ordered.
Bianca finally looked at the bewildered Diana.
-Come back to the main house with me!
Diana’s eyelashes fluttered fiercely and her fingers trembled slightly. She pinched herself desperately before managing to calm down.
“Nothing will happen, no one has proof that I pushed Adrian into the water. That card was also written by Albina, I was just passing by and trying to save him, no one can prove that I tried to hurt him!”
Trying desperately to psych herself up, Diana followed Bianca back.
The hurrying figure of Antonio, Bianca and the maids undoubtedly caught the director’s attention.
The director shot straight to the entrance of the main house to see the maid carrying Adrian and helping Albina hurry up the stairs.
They moved so fast that the two went by like a flash, but there was still a clear shot of the two of them soaking wet and wrapped in large towels.
The comments were full of questions.
-What’s going on?
-What have we missed?
-Is there good drama?
-I thought the Espina family was an exception. I didn’t realize that they would also try to perform tricks later.
-What about Diana? Could this incident have something to do with Diana?
As everyone was filled with doubt, Diana was seen returning behind Antonio and Bianca.
Her expression seemed calm, not as if she had been caught doing anything wrong.
Bianca’s expression was very serious, the sweetness in her face was gone and her eyes jumped with anger, as if she was about to explode in the next moment.
-Diana, tell me, what’s going on?
Diana pursed her lips and looked at Bianca with innocent eyes.
-Mom, the thing is, I saw Adrian running to the pool after lunch and I thought it was strange. Almost everyone in our family knows that Adrian is afraid of water, and I was worried that something had happened to him, so I thought I’d follow him. When I arrived, I saw Adrian rolling around in the pool as soon as I got in and I was so scared I tried to save him, but Albina ran over and jumped in the pool to pull him out. Then you guys arrived.
Diana sounded angry when she said that.
Doria’s idea was that she could get rid of everyone’s suspicions through Adrian’s rescue.
Adrian would change his mind about her because she saved his life, and Antonio and Bianca and even Hector would treat her better because she was Adrian’s savior.
And Albina, the one who had invited Adrian to the pool, would become the suspect.
Even if Albina had proof of her innocence, because she had gone home and something had happened to Adrian, Antonio and Bianca would probably have associated her and distanced themselves from her.
It was a big move, but she didn’t expect that the opportunity to save the child would be seized by Albina and all her plans would go down the drain.
Bianca looked at Diana suspiciously.
-Are you telling the truth?
Diana nodded.
-Of course, you can ask Adrian if you don’t believe me.
At that moment, a maid came in and handed Bianca a card.
-Lady, we found this by the pool.
Diana’s eyebrows jumped as she pretended to look and suddenly said:
-It’s Albina’s handwriting, I’ve seen it before.
