Chapter 554: All Enemies

Book:The Blind Wife Published:2024-6-3

Albina looked curiously out of the window seeing the tall and erect figure of Umberto, who remained very tense and seemed to be in a great rage.
Albina tilted her head to one side and looked at him curiously.
Who was Umberto calling?
After a few seconds, Hector answered urgently:
-Sorry, I was in the bathroom when I heard the phone ring -Is something wrong with Albina?
-Yes, I’m calling about Albina.
As soon as he heard Umberto’s hoarse and low voice, Hector’s expression tensed.
-Tell me.
Umberto’s tone was odd, was there really something wrong?
-Make a list of all the people your family offended before and send me this document. I want both the enemies of the company and the family as well as those who had personal grudges against you.
Hector stopped breathing for a moment.
-What do you need this for?
-To investigate why Albina was kidnapped back then.
Umberto didn’t hide anything, as he knew that Hector really cared about Albina and loved his sister, so the two of them were now on the same front.
-Okay, I’ll do it.
Hector didn’t hesitate in the slightest when he knew the reason.
The Espina family had prospered for so many years and had hindered so many people, so if Hector intended to do an investigation, he couldn’t do it by himself.
Now, with Umberto’s help, it would be better.
-Remember these are all the enemies before Albina was two years old, don’t send me the ones from the last few years.
-Of course I know.
Hector felt a little distressed, he wasn’t a child anymore, he didn’t need me to warn him over and over again!
After Umberto hung up the phone, Hector touched his wet and still frothy hair, and went back into the bathroom. When he came out of the bathroom, without drying his hair, he listed all the enemies of the Espina family who might have committed the murder before Albina was two years old.
It was already the wee hours of the night after finishing it.
He was surprised that the Espina family had many enemies back then, and they were the ones who could have attacked Albina.
Hector’s gaze turned cold and looked a bit grim.
If it really was one of them who had done it, the Espina family would never leave that person alone!
In the middle of the night, at the Santangel family home.
The phone next to his pillow vibrated and Umberto instantly opened his eyes without feeling sleepy.
He first looked at Albina beside him, and seeing her sleeping soundly, he gently approached her cheek and kissed her.
-Albina, I will avenge you.
Then he carefully lifted the comforter, as he was about to get out of bed, he realized that the hem of his pajamas was pressed by Albina’s arm.
He was afraid of waking Albina, so he took off his pajamas, picked up his phone and cautiously made his way to the study.
When Umberto left, Albina, who was already asleep in bed, opened her eyes. She looked at the pajamas under her arm and frowned as she remembered what Umberto had just said.
-What revenge?
“What did it mean, what was Umberto sneaking around at midnight without sleep?”
Actually, Albina was sound asleep, but since she was pregnant, she had to get up every night to go to the bathroom, and she had just wanted to go to the bathroom, but she was so sleepy she couldn’t open her eyes.
It was Umberto’s gentle kiss that woke her up completely, and she just heard his whispered words.
Albina frowned as she remembered the call Umberto had made in the courtyard.
Umberto was definitely hiding something from her!
But everyone had their secrets and Albina, knowing that Umberto wouldn’t hurt her, could only repress her curiosity and go back to sleep clinging to her pajamas.
After waking up again, it was already morning.
The sun was hazy outside, Albina sat up from the bed and her first reaction was to look beside her.
There was still no one there, just a rumpled nightgown.
She touched the comforter and noticed it was cold, so Umberto hadn’t been back all night.
It was half past six in the morning, normally Umberto had already woken her up for a walk.
Albina went to the study next door, in her pajamas, and when she opened the door, she saw Umberto lying at his desk.
The computer screen was still on and Umberto was sleeping on his arms.
A large man was curled up between a small table and a small chair, his posture would numb his arms in half an hour.
Albina was preoccupied just watching him sleep in an uncomfortable position, and when he had just taken a few steps, Umberto lifted his head from the table noticing the movement.
He had his hair a little messy and dark circles under his eyes that made his face even paler.
-Albina? -said Umberto with a hoarse voice.
He covered his face with his hands for a moment to wake up completely.
He got up, closed the computer naturally, approached Albina and put his arm around her to lead her out.
-Get out, there are quite a few electronic devices in the studio and the radiation is quite high.
Albina had spent so much time with him that, with just a small movement, she knew he didn’t want her to see what was on the computer.
She raised her head to look at Umberto.
Umberto sensed her movement and lowered his head to give her a smile.
-What’s wrong?
The dark circles under her eyes and the pale face made Albina’s heart ache even more and she didn’t want to ask him.
Umberto was hiding something from her, but she still worried about him noticing his tiredness.
Although Albina was not happy that Umberto was hiding something from her, she still grabbed his arm and pulled him into the bedroom.
-I didn’t sleep well last night, come with me to sleep again. I’m very tired, so I don’t want to go for a walk today.
Umberto looked at her small, tender face.
He was very attentive to detail, and he could tell whether Albina had slept well or not just by looking at her face.
Based on the glow of her skin and the clarity of her eyes, he was sure Albina had rested well the night before.
Albina was worried about him and knew he was tired, so she made up an excuse to let him rest.
Umberto was very moved.
-Okay, I’ll lie down with you.
He sat Albina on the bed and carefully washed his hands and face before lying down on the bed with her in his arms.
Umberto had only slept less than 20 minutes after the busy night before, and after talking for a few minutes with Albina, he fell asleep.
Albina raised her head in Umberto’s arms, and upon being assured that Umberto was actually falling asleep, she sighed and snuggled back into his arms.
As the two slept, Hector could not rest.
He woke up with something on his mind shortly after sending the email at midnight.
Today was the day he was returning to the Espina family home.
She had moved away from home since she had started college. Because he didn’t like living together with Diana, and as soon as he saw how happy she was living, he couldn’t help but miss his long lost sister.
Fearing that these feelings would build up and affect family harmony, he had made the decision to move out.
She had already promised Umberto that today she would tell her parents that she had found her sister Albina.
