Umberto’s ear was suddenly pinched and he was stunned for an instant.
Albina’s fingers squeezed his ear.
It didn’t hurt Umberto at all, knowing that Albina pampered him and didn’t want to hurt him, but he cooperated with Albina by shouting:
-Albina, be careful, it hurts.
His tone was sensual and made Albina’s cheeks turn red, then she quickly looked around.
She was afraid she would be embarrassed if Olivia, who always appeared without anyone noticing, heard them again.
-Don’t worry, Mom’s out for the night with some friends. She’s not at home.
Albina breathed a sigh of relief and pretended to give Umberto’s ear a fierce pinch.
-I’m not worried about mom showing up. You answer my question now.
-Fine, ask me.
Umberto saw that Albina was having trouble kneeling on the couch, so he put his arm around her waist so she could lean there.
Much more relaxed, Albina snuggled into his arm and asked earnestly:
-What happened to you today, does it have to do with my true identity?
Umberto hesitated for a moment and told only part of the truth:
-I found out something and I have some clues.
Albina didn’t expect him to answer truthfully, she froze for a moment, and her fingers unconsciously loosened from her ear.
-Really? Have you found my real parents? What kind of people are they?
It would be a lie to say she didn’t care. Now that John and Marisa had died, the relatives felt some animosity towards Albina, and although her grandmother had repented, she didn’t get along with Albina at all.
Albina always knew she had relatives with whom she had blood ties. If she couldn’t find them, she might ignore them and not care about them, but now that Umberto found them, it was impossible for her not to care.
A person was always curious.
Umberto noticed her nervousness and smoothed her hair.
-I’m not sure about this matter, I still have to investigate it further. I’ve only mastered a few clues now, when I find out in a few days, I’ll tell you about it.
Albina’s disappointment was obvious.
-Okay, then you’ll tell me a few days later.
Umberto grabbed Albina’s wrist to squeeze it.
-And if it turns out they are nice and want to meet you, will you say yes?
-If they just want to see me, I’ll accept it.
Albina was not an indifferent person. She put her hands to her cheeks and sighed.
-I don’t know what kind of life I would have lived if I hadn’t lost myself. But if I hadn’t lost myself, I wouldn’t have known my adoptive parents all my life, so right now I can’t explain my complicated feelings well.
-Understood.
Umberto stroked her hair, ran his fingers through the strands and touched the scar on her scalp. It was a long wound that had healed and was very rough to the touch.
Umberto’s gaze turned cold, as he didn’t even dare to imagine that such a long scar was on the head of a two-year-old girl.
Albina felt her scalp tickle from the touch of Umberto’s fingers and frowned.
-Stop it, you’re tickling me.
Umberto pulled his fingers out of her hair, pulled her into his arms and asked in a muffled voice:
-Albina, do you still have memories of your childhood?
-The memories from before you were two years old? -Albina asked, playing with Umberto’s fingers, “I don’t remember anything before I was two, but I have memories from after.
-I just touched the scar on your head, it hurt a lot, didn’t it?
Umberto’s voice was still muffled, his nose brushing her neck as he said this, oozing affection for her.
Albina’s heart softened at his touch and her pretty eyes filled with affection.
-I have no memory of when I was hurt, but after I learned of my adoption from my parents, I went to see the orphanage director and she told me in detail how she saved me.
It was a spring day and it was said that it had rained in the field and a lot of small wild mushrooms had grown.
The orphanage was very poor, so the director of the orphanage organized an excursion where volunteers took the children to the field to pick wild mushrooms and vegetables, which would serve as food for them.
To get the best and freshest mushrooms, the orphanage director went alone into the forest and found Albina covered in blood in the middle of a rich undergrowth.
The small body was lying on its back in the grass, apparently out of breath.
Frightened, the headmistress let out a scream of fright and sent the others to call the police, thinking that the child had been murdered.
Fortunately, the headmistress took pity on the child, who had suffered such torture at such a young age, and took off her coat to cover her. As she approached the girl, she discovered that she was not dead and was still breathing faintly.
He immediately drove his broken-down car to take Albina to the nearest hospital.
Thanks to the help of the headmistress, Albina survived. After surgery, she soon came to her senses, but lost all her previous memories, and it was not known whether it was due to a blow to the head or injury stress disorder.
Albina did not even remember her name.
The police came quickly, but in the end they discovered nothing, as Albina did not remember who had attacked her or what the person looked like.
The police were unable to find out anything about her family and eventually only took her picture to help her find her biological parents.
But then there was no news.
The director felt sorry for Albina’s suffering, so she took her to the orphanage, and it wasn’t long before Juan and Marisa came to adopt a girl and chose her right away.
Albina spoke softly and softly about the events, touching the scar on her head.
-I remember when I had this patch of hair all shaved off and showed a little scar like a centipede all those days, it was so ugly. When my father took me to Ramon’s house, Alex even laughed at me and bullied me.
She felt inferior for a long time because of this, but then her hair grew back to cover the scar and she regained her self-confidence.
Umberto listened to her description and his heart ached, as if squeezing tightly, thinking that when she was two years old, she was covered in blood and lying alone in the dense grass.
Had she not been saved by the orphanage director, Albina would have died peacefully in the grass where she rarely went, she would not even have been found forever.
Nor would she have met Umberto.
Umberto clenched his fists, and now he anxiously wanted to find out what had happened to Albina, and who had deliberately attacked an innocent two-year-old girl.
-Albina, sit down for a moment, I have something to do.
Umberto immediately got up and went to the courtyard with his cell phone.
