Chapter 10 – Don’t close your eyes.

Book:The Beast Found His Love Published:2024-5-1

Xavier’s POV (on the day that the incident happened. before the incident happened.)
I sighed for the billionth time. I have no idea what I am supposed to do. She is scared of me. My mate is scared of me. I wouldn’t blame her as she saw me that day tearing the wolf into two. I cringed at the thought. Before I met her, I would not have cared about what others thought of me. In fact it made me feel good that the people feared me. It showed me the authority I had on people.
But the thought of my mate being scared of me made both my wolf and me want to crawl to one corner and cry our eyes out. My wolf has been quiet for the past 5 days. He completely shut me out as he was hurt by what had happened 5 days ago.
I had waited for her my entire life. Bella and I were supposed to be cuddling and loving each other unconditionally right now. Bella. Her name was amazing. Her soft voice was like honey to my ears.
It’s taking every ounce of control in me to stop myself from barging into our room and pull her close to me and kiss her till her lips swell. I had to keep my control. She is already afraid of me and that is the last thing I would want to do if I want to be in her good book.
I sighed again as I did not know what to do. But one thing I know is that I am never letting her go no matter what. I just got her. How am I going to get rid of the fear she has? How am I going to get her to trust me. Most of all, how am I going to make her love. Can she love a beast like me? I know she feels the sparks when we touch. I have seen it in her eyes.
I have not done anything in the last 5 days but constantly think about my mate that has been stuck in our room. I had no other choice but to lock her in our room as I did not want her to escape. I was not even able to sleep as every time I tried, her eyes that contain fear came into my head and I would jolt awake.
I wanted her to come and console me, whisper sweet nothings into my ears and calm both me and my wolf. I am yearning for her touch. She is so cute and sweet. She let me hug her when I asked her the other day as she understood my situation.
All of a sudden I felt a pain in my heart. I did not understand it.
Mate. trouble. Danger. Hurt.
My wolf started to howl at me. Without any other thought, I dashed out of my office and barged into our room. I scan the room, searching for my mate. There she was. I smelt blood. Her blood. I used my wolf speed to get to her. I kneeled in front of her as I took her into my arms. I shake her so that she would not fall unconscious. “Love, Don’t close your eyes, look at me. Please just don’t close your eyes. Stay awake.” I plead for her to stay awake. I kept shaking her body vigorously as I realised my body was also shaking. I saw blood in her right hand and picked her hand up. She had cut her wrist. That sight made my eyes wide.
I saw her eyes slowly closing. As I saw her eyes closing, A teardrop fell from my eyes to her cheek.
“Don’t close your eyes” I said as I shook her face.
