A total stranger

Book:The Wingless Fairy (The Alpha's Luna) Published:2024-6-3

Ariella’s eyes opened, and she found herself in an unfamiliar place, where was she? Ariella looked around, and it slowly dawned on her that she was in a hospital.
The last thing she remembered was her and that man locking gazes and him saying something like “Mate.”
A headache hit Ariella hard and she groaned lightly.
She tried to move, and her leg slightly touched someone, Ariella found Daisy resting her head on the end of the bed she laid on.
“Oh, thank goodness you are awake,” A doctor said, immediately he entered and saw Ariella looking around.
“How do you feel?” The doctor made to touch Ariella, but she flinched and moved back.
“It’s okay, I’m just trying to check you,” The doctor reassured.
Ariella calmed down a bit and allowed him to check her, since Daisy was here with her, she felt safe.
Meanwhile outside, Jason kept pacing around, he brought her here since morning and up to now, she was yet to wake up. He felt his heart in pain, he was in discomfort. She had to be fine for him, he needed her to be fine.
Jason couldn’t wait for the doctor to come out and tell him what was going on.
“What’s with her? Is she fine? Why is she not waking up?” Jason bombarded the doctor with questions immediately he stepped out.
“She’s fine, Alpha, she just woke up. She’s malnourished and needs lots of rest, and also she has a deep wound on her back that’s not yet completely healed. It seemed like a part of her flesh was forcefully removed from her back, and she has to eat plenty of fruits that contain vitamins so she can heal properly.”
“Aside that, she’s perfectly okay.”
“How deep is the wound?” Jason asked politely, trying to suppress the surge of anger he felt inside him when he heard his mate had a wound on her. Everest (Jason’s wolf) was raging in anger, ready to devour whoever it was that hurt Ariella.
“It’s a very deep wound, Alpha.”
Jason lost his cool and grabbed the doctor tightly by the collar before saying,
“Do anything you can to make that wound heal, I don’t want to see even a tiny scar on her.”
“Do you understand?” Jason roared, and the doctor nodded in response before Jason finally released the doctor’s collar.
Jason predicted that the deep wound the doctor talked about was inflicted on his mate after her wings were cut off. He was going to tear to shreds whoever it was that touched her.
Jason heaved a sigh to calm his raging anger down before finally entering the hospital room.
Jason’s heart began to beat fast immediately he saw her face. His angel sent from above was finally here with him. He just knew from the first day he saw her that he really loved her, and she was going to be his mate.
Jason noticed her friend was still asleep, she rested her head on the end of the bed.
Jason noticed how Ariella shifted uncomfortably when she saw him.
“Hey, you are finally awake. How do you feel? Are you okay?”
Ariella shifted back when Jason raised his hand to touch her face. Jason felt a sharp pain hit his chest, and he groaned loudly in frustration, startling Ariella.
“I am sorry to have startled you, I just thought of something,” Jason lied.
Ariella kept looking at Jason in a strange manner without uttering a word, and that got Jason worried. Couldn’t she talk anymore?
Jason was about to say a word when Ariella bypassed him and finally spoke,
“Why are you not with your wife?”
Jason belly danced in pleasure at the sound of her beautiful tiny voice.
“I don’t have a wife,” Jason chuckled awkwardly. He wasn’t putting on a wedding ring, so why was she assuming he was married.
“You are lying. You were the groom at that wedding, I saw you.”
Jason hissed in annoyance. How could she call him a liar? Jason couldn’t answer her question anymore. Him telling her that he left his wife to be at the altar because of her would make him look bad, and he couldn’t do that.
****
Ariella noticed her heart beating fast when he stepped in. Why was her heart beating this fast? It all felt foreign to her because it wasn’t something she had felt before.
Although she was drawn to him, she couldn’t help but move her face back when he tried to touch her.
He groaned unexpectedly and that startled her. Was he short-tempered?
Yes, he helped her, but she couldn’t trust him that easily yet deep down within her, she felt relaxed and not tensed around him.
Ariella couldn’t help but notice he was still in his expensive tuxedo. Yes! He was the groom at the wedding, and that beautiful woman who commanded those wolves to attack her was his soon-to-be wife.
Ariella was shocked back then when she saw wolves in real life. Was she in a wolves’ kingdom?
Ariella kept wondering how the wife of this man felt, knowing her husband left her to be in the hospital with a total stranger. She felt bad and just had to ask,
“Why are you not with your wife?”
He lied that he had no wife, but she was certain that he was the groom at the wedding. Why was he lying? His wife was beyond beautiful, and he was supposed to be happy he was getting to someone that beautiful.
“You are lying. You were the groom at the wedding, I saw you,” Ariella insisted, and she heard him hissed. Ariella waited for some seconds for his reply, and when he didn’t, she decided to let him be. There must be a reason why he wasn’t admitting to being married.
After all, she was a stranger, and she wasn’t supposed to poke nose into his affairs. Little did she know that he cancelled his wedding because of her.
Ariella’s stomach suddenly rumbled, and she pouted her mouth because of how embarrassed she felt.
Jason laughed at how cute she looked and gently rubbed her hair playfully while Ariella stiffened.
Jason quickly understood that she wasn’t comfortable with him yet and immediately comported himself.
“Food is on it way, okay?”
Jason had earlier sent his driver to go get some fresh fruits and food for his mate and her friend.
No sooner than Jason finished saying that, the driver walked in with two baskets in his hands and bowed to Jason.
One basket was filled with various fruits and the other was filled with pasta and omelette enough for two persons with plates, cutlery, and water alongside a bottle of wine and two wine glasses.
Daisy, as though sensing food was brought, woke up and began to rub her eyes lazily while yawning.
“Ariella!” Daisy called happily and went over to hug her after she noticed that Ariel was awake.
Jason smiled inwardly, “So her name was really Ariella.”
“Serve them the food,” Jason ordered, the driver bowed and began to serve the food. Ariella observed the tone which he spoke with, he spoke like a king or president. So full of himself.
“Can we trust him?” Daisy asked Ariella and turned to look at Jason, indicating she was referring to him.
“Let’s give him a try,” Ariella replied without giving Daisy a definite answer. Daisy nodded, and they began to eat the food that was served by the driver.
Jason was awed by how bold the ladies were, they just talked about him like he wasn’t present there and went on to eat like nothing happened. They were Indeed interesting.
“Baang!” The door opened and someone barged in. Jason’s mother looked so furious, like she would snap Jason’s neck at the moment.
“Mum? What are you doing here?” Jason stood up immediately, he knew his mother was upset, but she couldn’t be here right now. He didn’t want Ariella to know he abandoned his wife to be on the altar.
“Can we talk outside, mum? Please.”
“Don’t tell me that! How could you abandon your wife to be on the altar because of her, a total stranger?”
