Beatrice Fumed in wrath, her eyes darkened, and she raised her hand upward,
“Mistress, the people of the kingdom await you,” Agnes interrupted and broke her mistress concentration.
Beatrice looked at Tracy with anger still evident on her face and said,
“On a second thought, I won’t kill you in an instance, I’ll make sure you get a slow and painful death.”
Beatrice charged out of the prison with anger still boiling in her. That stupid girl made fun of her, and she was never going to let that slide easily, all in the name of trying to get her to tell her where the royal bracelet was. If Tracy wasn’t going to tell her where the bracelet was, then she’ll look for another means to find the bracelet.
Wait! The bookkeeper. The bookkeeper should know where all those beautiful magical artifacts were hidden for safety purpose because he had books that contained the history of them all.
Beatrice smiled relieved, finally she was just about close to discovering where the bracelet was kept.
In no time, Beatrice was on the balcony facing the people who were gathered at the gate and were waiting for her.
“Those of you who want to be on my side, who promise to serve me and see me as their one and only ruler, move to the right and those who will stupidly stay die hard loyal subjects of late Sabastine, move to the left,” Beatrice ordered but no one moved. The people stared at her without moving an inch. Maybe they needed some seconds to think about it.
There was no kingdom without a people, so Beatrice required people who she would rule over. Beatrice only wanted to separate those who would serve her from those who would boldly oppose her orders.
She desired to kill those who still decided to stay loyal to Sabastine despite him being dead.
“You are a bad person, I hate you!” A little boy shouted at the top of his voice, and Beatrice’s eyes beamed with fury.
The anger that was caused by Tracy’s action, which she had suppressed, came out and even stronger this time around.
Beatrice left the balcony and flew to where the little boy stood. The little boy and people that stood close to him all moved back in fright. The little boy tried to hide from Beatrice by clinging to his mother’s leg.
But Beatrice pulled the boy’s ear in a hard way, and the little boy began to cry. That cry added more fuel to Beatrice’s anger, she hated kids, and she pulled the ear even harder.
“I’m sorry, please, don’t hurt him. He is just a little boy,” The little boy’s mother knelt and pleaded, but Beatrice only looked at her and continued what she was doing.
“Let my son be!” Someone said and pulled Beatrice’s hand away from the boy’s ear. Beatrice wanted to attack but calmed down when she saw that the person who pulled her hand away from the little boy’s ear was the bookkeeper.
So he was even married, it still felt like it was yesterday when he was appointed as the bookkeeper of the kingdom. It was a generation something, after a certain bookkeeper dies, his offspring takes over.
This boy was only but a teenage child when his father died, she hasn’t been banished from this kingdom yet. He was appointed the bookkeeper of the kingdom almost immediately after his father died, he was supervised by King Sabastine and, surprisingly, just as a teenager, he did more excellent than his late father.
Beatrice considered this to be a perfect opportunity to find the royal bracelet. No father wanted his kid to be hurt and would do just anything to protect his family.
“I’ll spare your son only on one condition, and that’s if you’ll tell me where the bracelet is kept,” Beatrice negotiated.
The bookkeeper was stunned. That was a huge request for him to do. The day he was sworn in, he took an oath of secrecy and no matter the circumstances he’ll keep to the oath.
The bookkeeper’s wife looked at her husband with pleading eyes that were begging him to just tell her where the bracelet was, so their son would be spared but when she saw the determined look on her husband’s face, she began to cry. She knew that look, it was a look of “if I die, let me die.”
The bookkeeper’s wife knew her husband’s mind was made up and regardless of what she said to him, he wouldn’t listen to her.
Oh! How could she forget?
She married him because of his integrity. He was a man of high principle and no matter the cost, he wasn’t going to lose his integrity for anything.
“I’d rather die than show you where it is hidden,” The bookkeeper boldly snapped at Beatrice, she was taken aback. She had thought that convincing him was going to be easy because of how much he wanted to see his son safe, but seeing how determined he was to die with the secret, there was absolutely no reason why she should waste her time trying to convince him further, he was better off dead.
“Very well then, if that’s how you want it,” Beatrice held him tightly on the neck and some visibly lines of smoke came out from her hand and entered him. As the bookkeeper choked, his face changed, his face began veiny and his eyes were red until life was squeezed out of him. Beatrice let go of his neck and he fell down dead.
The people around gasped in shock. Fear gripped them after witnessing the death of the bookkeeper. It wasn’t a beautiful sight to behold. The bookkeeper body looked white and dry as it laid on the floor.
“You caused your father’s death, boy!” Beatrice smirked evilly at the little boy, whose cry intensified after seeing his father’s body on the floor dead.
For the bookkeeper’s son, Beatrice decided not to kill him because the sight he just witnessed was enough to hunt him for a lifetime.
He caused his Father’s death by opening his little, lousy mouth to say nonsense.
“I repeat for the last time, if you are on my side, move to the right but if not, move to the left.”
Seeing the way Beatrice killed the bookkeeper, over half of the people moved to the right, thereby choosing to serve and be loyal to her, while the remaining people, including the bookkeeper’s wife and son, stood on the left ready to die for their king.
None of the greedy elders stood by the left-hand side, they all decided to serve Beatrice and be loyal to her. If King Sabastine were to be alive, he would be greatly disappointed in them.
Beatrice flew to the balcony and took a container that had a little content in it. The liquid content in that bottle was inflammable, since those people were die – hard followers of Sabastine, they deserved a hard death.
Beatrice took the bottle and flew to the people who stood by the left side, she dragged the little boy away from his mother, but the stubborn little boy still went back to his mother. She wanted not to kill him, but he still chose to die with his mother
Beatrice poured the liquid around those people on the left and on their body, then she cast a spell that’ll make none of them escape.
Beatrice took a match stick, lit it up and threw it at them. The fire began to burn, many cries and plea were heard. Many of them tried to run out of the fire, but it was too late, they were trapped in the fire, there was no way of escape as Beatrice created an invisible wall that kept them trapped in the fire.
