Risa turned her head and saw her face. Her makeup was messy. She went to Liza and handed her a tissue.
“What happened?” Risa asked but before Liza answered, Shawn, started speaking.
“Everyone, the party is over. The wedding is canceled. Thank you for coming”
Everyone in the room was surprised. They all stopped talking. The noise was replaced by silence. They are wondering about what Shawn said in front.
Luna’s looking at Shawn while her husband Maximus looked at Luna and already knew the reason for her sudden mood change. He felt angry as he looked at Shawn.
Everyone at the party froze. Shawn’s parents did not expect his sudden decision while the whole Frost family was confused.
Why all of a sudden? Everyone murmured.
Maximus looked at Luna. He finally has an idea why his wife insisted on going home already. Something must have happened between Shawn and her because her hand trembled again.
“His memories were back” Luna whispered. Maximus can see her worried face for the man.
“Do not worry, I am here” He firmly held her hand and comforted her.
Risa and Franco went up to the stage to ask their son about the cancellation of his wedding. They cannot cancel the wedding because Liza already invested a large amount of money for their hospital needs. They might pay back double if they cancel the wedding.
“Shawn, why are you doing this?!” Risa asked his son.
Shawn looked at his parents with disgust. He was disappointed at them for not telling him the truth. They even sell their son’s happiness for their own benefit. He does not want to talk to them right now because of the raging feeling inside him. He might say something that they will never like.
“Shawn, answer us! Son!” Franco said, calling the attention of his son.
The guest started to talk to each other about what happened. Even though the media kept capturing their photos and articles, they are waiting for Shawn’s answer on why he wants to cancel the wedding at his engagement party.
Everything was fine and smooth a while ago until Shawn announced the cancellation of their wedding.
“I should be the one asking you, why am I going to marry the person I don’t even love? Tell me, why did you lie? Why did you all lie to me?!” He said with a cold and serious tone. Looking both at his parents with sharp eyes. He is making them scared.
Risa and Franco were shocked because of what they heard. They did not know what to explain to their son. This is bad timing. He regained his memories when he saw Maximus and Luna smiling and holding each other’s hands. It triggered his memories and gave pain to his heart.
“Son, we did this for your own good. Your father and I were getting old. We just wanted to secure your future” Risa explained.
“Future? Mom! you do not have to worry about my future! I can handle my life even without your help. Why did you do that? You separate me from her. I looked so stupid believing that all you have said was true. Did you think my memories will never come back so you took advantage of me?” He shouted.
Everybody can hear him. They were confused about what he was saying.
Separate from her?
Memories? Lie?
What did he mean?
Liza started to cry. The wedding is over. Her dreams of marrying Shawn and having a happy family with him will never happen and this is all because of Luna. Her heart was breaking. This is supposed to be a special day for her.
Why did Luna have to ruin the party?
Liza clenched her fist that was holding a wine glass. She heads towards Luna who was in the comfort of Maximus.
“This is your fault! You bitch!!” She was about to smash the wine glass to her face. She wanted to make her ugly so Shawn will never love her and for Maximus to leave her. She was so jealous of her.
Luna froze. Liza will go to hurt her.
Luna closed her eyes waiting for the wine glass to slap her face, but it did not. She opened her eyes and saw Maximus holding Liza’s wrist while protecting her from Liza by embracing and covering her head.
Everybody was shocked because of Liza. She was about to hurt the wife of Maximus.
Is she crazy? She is asking for death for wanting to hurt Maximus’s wife.
Maximus glared at Liza. If he did not catch her wrist, Liza would probably damage his wife’s beautiful face. He will definitely kill her if that happened even if she was Shawn’s fiancé. He will never let anyone hurt his wife.
“If you ever touched a single strand of my wife’s hair, you would never see the sun again!” Maximus said with authority in his voice.
He released her hand. Liza got scared because of his death glare. She slowly stepped back and stumbled on the floor. The wine glass that she was holding spilled into her clothes making her outfit messed. She felt that she looked like a laughingstock in front of everybody.
She looked at Shawn who was looking at Luna with a worried face while his parents did not help her or even looked at her.
Why no one is helping her?
Liza stood up by herself. She looked at Luna with disdain. She clenched her fist and uttered a word.
“You will pay for this!” She said and immediately walked out of the venue.
I’ll make you pay Luna! You will pay for this! Liza thought.
Maximus looked at his wife to see if she was hurt or got any bruises. He was worried a while ago. If he only knew that this would happen, he would never bring his wife to the party.
Shawn walked down on stage to ask Luna. He was worried about her. His heart almost stopped beating when he saw what Liza did. He was not able to move his body to rescue Luna because of Liza’s sudden reaction.
“Luna, are you okay? I am so sorry” He said when he got close to her. He was about to hold her hands to pull her into his embrace, but Maximus confronts him with a serious face.
“Shawn, I hope you settle everything with your woman to avoid incidents like what happened a while ago. She almost leaves a scar on my wife’s face. Everything that has something to do with my wife is important to me. This is also a warning, Shawn. Do not bother my wife anymore. She is mine!” Maximus said and left with Luna, leaving everyone stunned.
Shawn did not speak. He clenched his fist telling himself that he will not give up on Luna.
