The door slowly opened, and the figure of a woman was shown. She looks scared and nervous because he was caught peeking by Maximus and Luna. It was unexpected because she thought that she would not get noticed outside. She did not know that Maximus has a sharp sense.
“Sally?” Luna asked after seeing the familiar face of a nurse.
What is she doing here? Luna thought. No one knows who the patient at the VIP wards except her and Doctor Reyes. She suddenly remembered Sally came out of Doctor Reyes’s office. Did she also know about it? She thought.
Sally looked at Maximus and Luna. She froze when she saw how handsome he was. The patient in the VIP ward was not a woman because it was a man. She immediately avoids looking at Maximus when the man glares at her.
“Why are you peeking, lady?!” Maximus’s voice became authoritative and cold. It makes anyone who hears him scared and hides.
Sally lowered her head. She was too nervous. She peeked because of what she learned at the information about the VIP ward. She was very curious about the patient, especially the doctor who was assigned.
When Sally discovered that the information about the VIP ward was manipulated by the hospital, she felt surprised. She is not a doctor but a nurse. What is more shocking was seeing her name as the assigned doctor instead of Luna. Now, the patient was also not a woman but a man, a handsome man.
“No, no. I am sorry. I didn’t mean any harm. I just noticed that I have not seen Luna around yesterday, so I tried to follow her to know if she changed the schedule or wards. I am so sorry please forgive me, Sir. I am just worried about my friend” She explained with a worried expression. She did not dare to look at Maximus’s sharp eyes. His eyes were like a knife that might stab her if she dares to look at him.
The truth is, she was here to investigate and to know the truth about the VIP ward so she can report anything to Liza and avoid losing her job.
“Really?!”, Maximus said while raising his left brow and glared at Sally.
“Maximus, please. Do not scare her. She is my friend, Sally” Luna stopped Maximus from glaring at Sally.
She knew Maximus hated liars and privacy invaders.
Maximus did not talk. He just made a gesture that he wanted Sally to leave them immediately. Luna held Sally’s hand and guided her to the door.
“Are you okay?” Luna asked her with a worried tone. She held her friend’s hands and squeezed them lightly.
Luna decided to scold Maximus when she got back inside. She thought that she needed to say a word to Maximus for scaring her friend.
“Y-yes. Thank you so much, Luna. By the way, who was that handsome man?” She smiled and hugged her friend.
“He was a very important friend of the Lucas family. I am not allowed to tell you who he was, as Doctor Reyes’s orders. I am sorry, Sally” Luna felt sorry for not telling her who was that man to her.
“Hey, no it is fine. If that’s Doctor Reyes’s orders, then it is very confidential. Let it be our secret, okay? I’ll be going now. Take care, Doctor Lu” Sally said with a smile on her face.
Luna went inside when Sally started to walk away.
Sally once looked at the VIP ward again and remembered what Doctor Reyes said when she came to his office to ask about her name that was assigned to the VIP ward.
“The patient under the VIP ward should be under your care, but when the patient admitted at that time, you had your day off, so we assigned another doctor and nurse,” Doctor Reyes said at Sally after asking but the reality was Doctor Reyes hides the truth. It was strictly ordered that the information about Maximus Frost and his doctor should be kept confidential.
Sally did not know that the patient in the VIP ward had requested to change the duty nurse.
“Then why did the information on the computer not updated?” She asked because it was already three days since the patient got admitted.
“Because he is a very important person, slash, a very friend of the Lucas family. We did change the information to keep the patient’s identity. That was all I could tell. I cannot answer any more of your questions” Doctor Reyes said to stop Sally from asking her furthermore.
“Oh, I see. Thank you, Doctor. I shall take my leave now” Sally opened the door and saw Luna.
At that time, she did not have any idea why Luna was the assigned doctor and nurse at the VIP ward.
Sally gets her phone in her pocket then dialed the number of Liza. The other line rang three times before it got answered by Liza.
“Hello?” Sally heard the sweet voice of Liza.
“I am here to tell you something about what I had discovered at the VIP ward,” She said while holding her phone tightly.
“Good. Meet me after your shift” Sally suddenly noticed that Liza’s voice suddenly changed.
She is about to meet the evil woman, again.
Inside the VIP ward, Luna was scolding Maximus for scaring her friend, Sally. She was also asking Maximus not to scare Sally on later dates.
“Why are you scolding me? You are still not my wife yet or are you perhaps practicing how to be my wife? I am glad if that’s so” Maximus teased Luna with a serious tone.
Luna blushed with confusion on her face.
For Pete’s sake. Why does he keep on reminding me about marriage and becoming his wife? Luna thought.
“I told you before, I will not marry you,” Luna said.
“If you do not marry me, you will regret it” Maximus talked back.
“How do you say so?!”
“If you do not marry me, you will never see my handsome face anymore and I will never contact you again,” Maximus said. This time, he is serious, and Luna noticed his mood.
Is he going to leave her again?
Luna did not react or do anything. She just looked Maximus in the eyes. She can tell that Maximus was not joking and he was telling the truth.
