he wheels on the bus(car) go round and round. Round and round. Round and round. All day long.
All day long was an understatement.
I was waiting not so patiently for this long ride to finish already! Seriously! I have things to do, goddammit!
I really do! Like… see my parents, see Samantha…
See Ayato…
And yeah, other things too!
Oh, goddamm! Stop this car already!
Screech.
“We’re here.”
God has finally heard my prayers. Hallelujah! Now, I have to take a shower, change and go to Samantha. Or I should give her a text to see if she’s not busy or something.
Getting out of the car, I slammed the door shut after me and proceeded to go to the trunk along with Diana to get my things. After we managed to take out all the luggage that was in the trunk, I hugged Diana.
“Thank you for this week. It’s been wonderful,” I smiled, Diana hugging me back. We pulled away from the hug a few seconds later, and I gripped my luggage, pulling it towards me.
“Oh, it was nothing. I’m glad you all could be there for Ayato’s birthday,” She grinned at me, a happy expression laying on her beautiful, doll like face. She is so beautiful. His dad is handsome too, no wonder why their son is gorgeous. “He has so many friends that care about him. And a beautiful lady as his girlfriend.”
I looked at her, my eyebrows raised. I giggled, the compliment taking me slightly aback. “Thank you.”
Diana chuckled, taking her things. “Now don’t let that get to your head. I’m still keeping an eye on you too. Maybe both eyes.”
She walked away with her things and into their house. I looked after her for a little bit then proceeded to take my luggage and walk away from the car.
As I was walking, I felt the luggage being snatched away from my hands, and then Ayato’s face popped out of nowhere, my things in his hands.
“Hello,” He gave me a boyish grin. I chuckled at him, and tried to get back my luggage. “Nu-uh! Don’t think so, princess.”
I furrowed my eyebrows, my nose, wrinkling my nose in mock disgust at the new nickname he gave me. But I have to admit that it’s cute.
He saw the look I was giving him when he called me princess, his lips stretching out into a big and mischievous smile.
“Oh sorry, you don’t like being called princess…” He made a pause in which my eyebrows went from furrowed to raised up to the highest point they could get to on my forehead. I was being dramatic right now by the way. “-Cherry?” He finished his sentence… question, making a groan of annoyance escape my lips.
“Not again with that nickname.”
“Old habits die hard, baby.”
“But you haven’t called me that in a long time. It’s already dead,” I retorted back.
“Well, it has come back to live, Cherry,” I rolled my eyes at the wink he threw in my way when he finished his sentence.
“Whatever, Anders.”

Me: Hey Sam! Mom told me you want to talk with Ayato and I, right?
Sam: Yes.
Me: When and where?? ^^
Sam: Hmm… tomorrow, at my place. Sounds good? 5 PM or so.
Me: Very good ^^ … see you tomorrow Sam! ♡♡
Sam: Yeah, see you tomorrow.
I smiled, and put my phone down on my bed so I could stretch for a little bit.
My muscles were so stiff from sitting in that car for hours.
Thinking about it, I have good memories from there. Even if Sam kissed Ayato it doesn’t matter. We are together now, and Sam knows not to intervene between us.
A couple…
It still sounds so weird, new saying that.
Ayato and I…
A couple…
I grabbed a pillow from my bed and put it on my face so I could squeal without anyone hearing me. Of course everyone heard me, but I guess they chose to ignore it.
My parents ignored it. Jemima was quick to make a comment about it.
“Shut up! I don’t care if you’re happy to be with Ayato! I’m talking with Finn so SHUT THE HELL UP!”
“SORRY!” I screamed back.
“DON’T SCREAM! IT’S LATE!” I heard my mother scream.
“SORRY!” Jemima and I screamed in the same time. I could already see my mother shaking her head at us.
Ping!
My phone made a sound, announcing me of a new message. I threw the pillow I was holding away, and hurriedly took my phone in hope of a message from Ayato.
All my dreams were crushed when I saw who sent me the message in fact: Paula.
Furrowing my eyebrows and thinking what did she send me a message, I opened the text.
Paula: Hey! Have you seen Tyler’s eye? Damn… It’s black as hell. Did you have something to do with it?
Wait… Wrong question. Does Jemima have something to do with it? Or did Ayato find out about what Tyler did to you?
Wait… what?!
Me: What happened to Tyler????!?!?!!!!?!
Paula: Woah… Shouldn’t you feel happy that he got what he deserved for cheating on you?
Me: No! He’s a human with feelings! Yes, he did cheat on me… but he still is a human!
Paula: …… I don’t understand you….
Me: *rolls eyes* And I didn’t even want you to understand me.
Paula: Gross…
Me: What?
Paula: You’re one of those people who uses “actions” or whatever…
Me: huh?
Paula: The action thing with “*rolls eyes*”
Me: What’s with it?
Paula: …. You’re annoying me right now. I’m not going to talk to you anymore. Why did I even text you in the first place anyway?
Me: Because I’m awesome lol
Paula: And she also uses “lol”. Ugh…
Me: ya… cuz im cooooleeeer then uuuuuu
Paula: Yes* Because* I’m* cooler* than* you*…… Please learn your English.
Me: Lol… You’re one of those grammar police kind of people, huh?
Paula: You can say so.
Me: Figures…
Paula: Okay… I’m gonna call Juliet and ask how is she doing.
Me: What? Aren’t you living in the same house?
Paula: She’s out.
Me: WHAT?! AT 10:30 PM?!
Paula: Not all of us are like you… Staying in the house all day…
Me: I don’t stay in house all the time. I also get out… but I like to be alone so I could… recharge…
Paula: You’re a weird one, you know?
Me:Well… Whatever… You said you have to go, right?
Paula: Yes. Bye.
Me: Good night to you too *rolls eyes*
I waited for her answer more than five minutes. Nothing came.
I scowled at the conversation we just shared. A ‘good night’ would’ve been pretty nice… Oh well…
“Hello, Cherry,” a taunting voice said, and I groaned, raising my head up.
“Again with that nickname?”
“Yup.”
“Not you too, Jemima.”
She rolled her eyes and plopped herself down on my bed. Giving myself away from her so she wouldn’t fall on me, I fell off my bed and along with the fall Jemima’s laughter filled the whole room. With my face planted on the carpet beneath me, I scowled and got up with a groan.
“Can you please not do that again?” I asked, making Jemima laugh harder. I didn’t even say anything funny.
“Sorry, sorry,” She wiped the tears that formed in her eyes from the laughter with the sleeves of her shirt. “I won’t do that again. Promise.”
I glared at her, sitting down on the bed. “Yeah, you said that last time too. And remember how I bumped my head on the headboard and had a bump for almost a month?”
“Okay, you’re exaggerating now, and I said sorry!” She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air in frustration and annoyance.
Silence fell upon us, and I started playing with my fingers, feeling a little bit awkward as I searched for a subject to talk about in my mind.
Ah! I got it!
“Hey, Jem,” I called her and she averted her eyes from the wall to me.
“Hmm?”
“Umm, I wanted to ask. Did you have anything to do with Tyler?” I slowly asked, feeling curious and pretty anxious all of a sudden.
She blinked at me, on her face reading misunderstanding. Her face suddenly lit up, and she made a sound that signaled her finally comprehending what I said.
“Oh!” She exclaimed. “You mean if I hooked up with him? Nah. I was about to if I hadn’t found out that he cheated on you.”
I shook my head. “No, not that.”
Jemima furrowed her eyebrows, looking more confused than ever.
“Then what?”
“His black eye.”
The confused look that was on her face just a few seconds ago vanished and left place for a look of understanding to rest on her face. As if she fully processed what I had asked, the look of understanding, as the one of confusion did, disappeared. Her expression was now stoic, devoid of any emotions.
“No.”
“You’re lying.”
“No!”
“Yes, you are! What happened to his eye, Jemima?!”
She looked to the side, visibly pinching the inside of her cheek with her tongue. This was one of the habits she did when someone caught her red handed.
I let out a sigh of annoyance, tired of even hearing what she has done. But still, I had to listen to it being interested and all.
“Spill.”
“He hurt you. I hurt him. Simple as that,” She muttered under her breath, and I couldn’t help but let a faint smile show at the care she was having for me. Yet, my smile faded and was replaced by a scolding, disapproving and disappointed stare.
“Jemima-” I wasn’t even able to continue my sentence because Jemima cut me off, reading my thoughts.
“He is a human too! Human have feelings and can feel pain, blah blah blah. I’ve heard it before, but yet again I don’t care. He hurt you. I hurt him. End of discussion,” She furrowed her eyebrows in anger, raised herself up from my bed and rushed out of my room. I looked after her, and sighed.
What a girl…
***
It was currently 2 PM, and I had to go to the grocery store to buy something my mom asked me to. And of course some snacks would also be bought along the way.
In 3 hours I had to get by Samantha’s house so she could talk with Ayato and I.
Speaking of which, he sent me a message a few minutes ago saying he was at my house.
This guy…
I told him to be at my house by the time the clock hits four and a half, but no. He’s two hours and thirty minutes early.
“Oomph!” I bumped into someone, a startled sound leaving my mouth.
“Sorry!” I quickly apologized, taking a step back and raising my head to see whom I bumped into. My eyebrows shot up when my eyes recognized the face in front of my eyes.
“Adaline,” He breathed out, giving me a small smile. He slid his hands into the back pockets of his jeans, and looked at me in the eyes.
I frowned, concerned when my eyes set upon his purple-ish-black left eye. I extended my arm and cautiously tried to touch his eye. He flinched, leaning back in protest. I immediately took my hand back, letting my arm fall limp to my side.
“Are you okay?” I gave him a skeptical look when he nodded his head.
“Yes.”
“Liar. Jemima beat you up. How are you feeling?”
He huffed in what seemed a sad, fake humour.
“I had gotten what I deserved.”
“That’s not tru-,” I defended him, but he quickly interrupted me.
“It is, Adaline,” He shot back, his facial expression taking a major turn. His voice became small, low, insecure and full of guiltiness, giving out his true emotions. “Please, stop being so kind to me. I’m trying so hard not to let my greediness take over me and try to win your heart again. Please, Adaline. Let me get over you.”
He was facing downwards, a drop of water falling and splashing on the pavement catching my attention. As I raised my head along with him, I blinked in surprise.
His eyes were glassy, filled with unshed tears. In that moment, I could see his true emotions and thoughts. His walls were down, he was stripped from all the shields that protected him, leaving him naked in front of me, his feelings clearly visible.
My eyes burned, and my heart was beating fast and hard in my chest, awakening all kind of emotions inside of me that I didn’t want to be awaken. They invaded my brain, my rationality, and started to flow into my veins, spreading the feelings in my whole body, demanding me to hug him, to accept him, to give him another chance.
And yet I didn’t. I just stood there, watching him.
“Tyler,” I cracked out his name in a whisper, afraid that if I spoke louder my voice would give up on me and I would get into a fit of sobs and hiccups.
I saw a ghost of a smile at the corners of his lips, and he slowly examined my face, until he locked eyes with me.
He sighed, a single tear making its way down his cheek. “Goodbye, Adaline,” He whispered while walking away from me.
After a few seconds, I turned around and watched his retreating back. A small sob escaped my lips, and I tried to steady myself as my wobbly legs wanted to give up on me.
“See you, Tyler.”
***
“Ayato! Come on! Let’s go, please!” I said to my boyfriend, trying to peel his clingy self off me. “Ayato! Stop kissing my neck!”
“Mmm,” The sound vibrated on his lips, making a good kind of feeling go through the skin on my neck. I closed my eyes, and held Ayato’s shoulders, counting to ten. “You know you like it.”
“Ayato. Please. Samantha is waiting for us. After we finish all of this, I’m all yours.”
This seemed to do the work, Ayato retracting from me, giving me a hopeful yet naughty smile.
“All mine?”
I sighed, a smile coming onto my lips. “All yours.”
His smile grew bigger and he gripped my hand, dragging me to the front door and away from my house. I couldn’t even get to say my goodbyes to my family.
We arrived at Samantha, and Ayato eagerly knocked on the door. As we were waiting outside, I shrugged off Ayato’s hand not wanting someone to see our PDA. Ayato looked down, and with furrowed eyebrows tried to reach again for my hand.
I slapped his hand away, and gave him a look. He pouted, but listened to the words my expression left out nonetheless.
“Come in!” A sweet, high-pitched voice was heard from the other side, and I jumped for the doorknob. Gripping and twisting it, I opened the door with a big smile on my face, only to stop dead in my tracks, my smile being washed off by a hot wave of fear. My eyes grew wide while looking at the cold, dangerous and black gun pointing towards me.
I felt Ayato stopping right beside me, stiffening.
The tense atmosphere was cut by a high-pitched, bone-chilling giggle, making us stiffen even more.
“Well, well. I’m so happy you two could pay us a visit,” I gulped at the voice of the woman in front of my eyes, that was filled with pure evilness, goosebumps raising all over my body. In that moment, just a single thought was passing through my mind, making me realize that all of this was real.
Oh shit.
