Rosy was stunned as he closed in on her trying to kiss her. As she was in a daze, he whispered, “Say something. I don’t want our first kiss to be like this.”
That snapped Rosy back to her senses as she closed her eyes and sniffed him taking a deep breath.
As their lips were just an inch apart, she inadvertently looked at a corner and pushed William apart with widened eyes.
“Is she one of your exes again?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Stop pretending! She must be one of your past flings, otherwise, why would she be glaring at us like that.”
“I told you I don’t have any exes or flings.”
“Oh really, then why don’t you explain the photos in the newspaper last time.”
“That was probably done by Pete’s ex-girlfriend. I have nothing to do with her.”
“You are lying. Pete said you guys had a history together and you are neighbors and all that.”
“What do you want me to do to make you believe me?”
“I don’t know.”
William sighed and tried to hug her, but Rosy pushed him away.
“Don’t! Don’t touch me when we are in a public place.”
“Alright, I won’t,” William said, holding his hands up in mock surrender.
Rosy just glared at him.
“Let’s go back, shall we?”
“Okay”
“Don’t be mad at me anymore.”
“Depends on your performance” Rosy pouted, making William smile.
They went back to their private room completely disregarding Supriya who was fuming with jealousy and humiliation at being so thoroughly ignored.
Albert and Tessa watched them in surprise at their chemistry and then at Supriya recording the entire thing.
Tessa then texted Rosaline. “Next step.”
It was around 1 am when they all left in several groups. William volunteered to drop Rosy off on his way amidst all the boohoos.
When they reached Tessa’s house, William asked her to wait up inside. He walked over to her side and opened the door while she was still confused.
“I’ll walk you to the door.”
“You don’t have to.”
“I know.”
“Your friends are fun.”
“Yours as well. I did not expect everyone to get along so well.”
“Me neither.”
“So, you and Jack..”
“Please don’t.” Interrupts in haste.
“I was going to say, you are closest to Jack, after Tessa Johnson.”
“Hmm. Just call her Tessa, please.”
“She will be my employee soon, so it’s better I don’t change it.”
“I had forgotten about that.”
“Where are you going to work?”
“Are you offering me a job?”
“Not yet.”
“Really?”
“Ya, it’s not the time yet.”
“OH”
“Don’t worry. When the time is right, I’ll make you an offer you won’t be able to reject.”
“Why did I not notice you are such a narcissist before?”
“I’m confident.” Shrugs indifferently.
“Are you confident I’ll accept your offer?”
“At least it’ll be tempting enough to make you pause.”
“Hahahahaha”
He stared at her passionately, making her stop as she covered it up by coughing and avoided his eyes.
“It feels like everything stands still when you laugh.”
“We are here,” Rosy said looking up to him.
William leaned over as he moved her fluttering hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear.
Rosy gulped audibly when he intentionally brushed his knuckles on her cheek and played with her ear.
William leaned in for a kiss but stopped an inch from her face waiting for her reaction.
