Amelia’s POV
I laughed at Sebastian’s joke knowing it’s been almost 20 minutes since Xavier left. I knew he was just avoiding everyone in the room and I felt bad since I was the one who practically dragged him here. If I had known I wouldn’t have suggested that we visit.
“Hey.” I heard Sebastian call out and I looked over to him.
“You zoned out for a minute.” He added and I smiled.
“Sorry got a little distracted.”
“It’s okay.” He replied and I heard the door open I turned to face a frustrated Xavier his hair messy most likely from being under the snow cap.
“You must be Xavier.” Sebastian said standing up outstretching his hand.
“I’m Sebastian.” He added and Xavier shook his hand confidence radiating off him. He was intimidating even more so when he wanted to be and I knew Sebastian felt the power, control and confidence radiating off him.
“Xavier Persons.” He said giving him a small smile before pulling away sitting beside me.
“So?” I asked and he took out his phone showing me the screen, where I saw a list of problems at one of the restaurants Xavier owned, I remember glanced over to Xavier to see Sebastian trying to start small talk but I could tell it was the last thing Xavier wanted to engage in.
“Did you call the manager?” I asked and he looked over to me nodding.
“But I’m not getting to him.”
“Try again.” I said handing him the phone, he sighed calling the man once more mumbling something under his when he got no answer. He gave me a questioning look and I nodded causing him to call again. I looked at my phone screen and realized it was only 9:00 in the morning back home.
“You’re fired.” Xavier said into the phone the moment the man picked up before ending the call.
“Find me a new manager.” He told me as he scrolled through his phone. I rolled my eyes grabbing my phone, even though I was used to him doing stuff like this it never failed to annoy me.
“And find me a new personal accountant.” He said once the call he was making got no answer.
“Why is Bill getting fired?” I asked looking over to him.
“He didn’t pick up, it’s after nine in the morning back home what’s so important that my calls go unanswered?” He asked but I knew he didn’t expect me to answer.
“Bill calls you numerous times and doesn’t get through what’s the difference?” I asked trying to get him to think like an human being it was hard to find a personal account especially for him.
“I pay Bill he doesn’t pay me.” He replied his eyes still focused on his phone.
“You’re a jackass.” I said amused by his previous statement.
“And you love me so clearly there is something there.” He said glancing at me a smirk on his face.
“Did you just smirk?” I asked amused never seeing him performing the action and he chuckled as he continued to swipe through the phone.
“I’m not firing Bill until you sleep on it.” I added going serious once more.
“Amelia this is-” “It was a statement Xavier.” I said successfully hiding my smile that desperately wanted to be shown. He turned to me, his hand landing on my thigh as he leaned closer to me whispering in my ear softly.
“Please be reminded that your underwear is in my pocket and your sitting her panty less, do not tempt me to finger fuck your sass out of you.” A flutter ran through me as he pulled away leaving my mind scrambled I looked over to Sebastian who was busy with the television not really focusing on us.
“You guys are staying the night, right?” Sebastian asked turning to Xavier.
“No we’re leaving soon to go our hotel.” Xavier replied and Sebastian’s face pulled together in confusion.
“The roads are closed until tomorrow.” He pointed out and Xavier frowned, biting the inside of his cheek.
“Do you know anywhere within walking distance of here?” Xavier asked, this man must be crazy.
“No, why don’t you just stay here?” He questioned as Samantha walked in.
“I don’t want to intrude.”
“You’re not, I already had a room made.” Samantha said smiling brightly probably at the thought of him staying. Xavier looked over to me for any sign of me wanting to disagree before turning back to her.
“I’ll go get the bags.” He said hesitantly standing up and if possible her smile grew.
“Let me show you to the room.” Samantha said and I stood grabbing Xavier and I’s phone following her upstairs to end of the hall, where there was a door. She pushed it open to reveal a black and white room which was different from the design of the entire house. It was very modern in contrast to every other room.
“I designed this room hoping that he would visit.” She said looking inside instead of at me.
“Well, you guys can get some rest and if your hungry there is food downstairs.” She said clearing her throat.
“Thank you.”
“No, thank you, I know you’re the only reason he decided to visit.” She said
smiling before walking off. I stepped into the room closing the door behind me as I began to strip down placing my clothes on a chair by the bathroom door.
I placed my hair in a high ponytail before wrapping it into a bun deciding to wash it in the morning since, I washed it last night. I stepped into the shower turning on the water before moving under it, loving the warmness that engulfed me.
I wondered what was the reason behind Samantha leaving. Did Xavier’s father gain full custody, was the divorce one where she needed to be away. She really didn’t seem like the type of person to leave her family but then again you never really know a person from small talk. I was in the shower for a good twenty minutes when I heard the door to the room open and close.
“Xavier.” I called out from the bathroom as I continued to wash the suds from my body.
“Yes baby.” He replied opening the bathroom door.
“Can you get me something to wear please?” I heard his footsteps retreating as I turned off the water. Pulling the shower door open to see my towel on the rack I smiled knowing he brought it grabbing the towel I dried myself before wrapping it around my waist.
I saw my toothbrush on the counter and I smiled grabbing it. I began brushing my teeth when the door opened to reveal Xavier with clothes in his hands.
He moved behind me placing the clothes on the counter, his hand going to my hair undoing it letting it fall down my back. He held my hair back as I rinsed my mouth putting my toothbrush back in it’s case. His hands snaked around my waist holding me against him.
“I love you Amelia.” He whispered kissing my neck before pulling away. I grabbed the clothes off the counter walking to the bedroom looking at what he picked out. I lifted the tong up and laughed as I slipped it on before pulling on his oversized sweater and the socks climbing into bed. I picked up my phone scrolling through Instagram refreshing my feed every two minutes not really finding anything interesting to keep my mind busy.
After a good 15 minutes I heard the door open. Xavier walking in wearing a pair of boxers.
“Aren’t you cold?” I asked and he shook his head.
“The heater is on.” He replied amused.
“And?” I asked and he chuckled getting under the covers pulling my back to his chest his hand wrapped around me. I sighed enjoying how complete and content I felt.
“Amelia.” He called out after a brief minute and I hummed in response.
“Are you happy?” He asked softly playing in my hair daring me to drift to sleep.
“Yes.”
“Do I make you happy?” He asked a hint of sadness in his voice and I turned in his arms.
“Yes, you do.” He frowned kissing my forehead pulling me closer to him.
“You make you happy Amelia.” He said pushing back my hair, I smiled pecking his lips, thinking back to how we met I couldn’t really remember how or when I fell for him but I did. And every time he included me in his life in anyway my heart warmed.
“What are you thinking about?” He asked me his hand running up and down my back.
“Us.”
“What about us?”
“Just how weird it is-the amount of love I feel for you it’s just shocking.” I said not knowing how to turn my thoughts to words.
“Do you like Sebastian?” He asked after a couple seconds.
“It’s hard to say.” I replied since we didn’t really converse on anything that would give me an opportunity to know him.
“Is wrong that I dislike him?” He asked frowning.
“Yes but no.” I replied playing in his hair, he looked at me biting the inside of his cheek.
“Stop thinking about it, sleep once you’re refreshed-“amused and I nodded slapping his chest slightly.
“Yes.”
“The snow really changed you.” He joked pecking my lips.
“Shut up.” I whispered snuggling into his chest.
