Chapter 133

Book:Billionaire's Exclusive Wife Published:2024-5-1

Cheney’s POV
I’ve been worrying about if she will hear those voices in the garden. But when I got back to the Jade Court, she wasn’t there. The servant said that she and grandpa talked. I always thought Grandpa wouldn’t say anything nice, so I went to the Plum Court. I ended up at the Plum Court, and Grandpa said he had kicked Krista out.
I was in a hurry, so I drove all the way out to look for it. Finally, I saw her get into a taxi. I thought she would go back to the Leaf Court, but instead, she came to the bridge
I found a parking space to park my car. When I came over, I saw her standing alone by the bridge, suspected of jumping into the river. At that time, my heart almost jumped out.
This woman has a method to stimulate my heart in a different way. Krista’s eyes are red. “I think you came to settle accounts with me.”
“What is it?” I frowned.
“Did you… didn’t you hear what the people in the Fischer’s mansion said?”
I disdain, “psycho.”
She stared at me. “Who are you… who are you talking about?”
“What about you? You don’t know that I was proud of you. With your personality, how can you dander to do such a thing?”
Her eyes turned red, and she turned her back on me. I walked up to her and looked at her. “You’re not going to cry, are you?”
She tilted her head, breathed, and then looked at me. “Why should I cry for a hypocritical person like you?”
“I’m hypocritical?”
“Yes, you clearly don’t believe me. If you believed me, I was in Flora’s room just now, you wouldn’t have kicked me out.”
“I’ll kick you out?” I asked, “I just don’t want you to stand there and look uncomfortable and let you go back to the Jade Court so that you don’t hear those ugly rumors.”
I stretched out my hand and hooked the tip of her nose. “Look at your hand, because of this little thing, your eyes are crying?”
She didn’t move, raised her hand, and tried to wipe her eyes with her sleeve. I saw her hand under her sleeve, bandaged with gauze. I grabbed her wrist and frowned. “What’s going on?”
She bit her lip and breathed, “Nothing.”
I grabbed vigorously and didn’t let go. “Nothing? I was bandaged. What happened?”
She frowned and said, “I burned my hands by the baking pan.”
“How did you get burned?”
“When I saw Flora scalded by the baking tray, I didn’t think of it at the time, so I took the baking tray away from her.”
“You…” I gritted my teeth and felt distressed. I stretched out my hand and poked her forehead. “Why are you so stupid?”
She looked up and gouged out at me. “What should I do? Do I pretend I didn’t see it?”
I stretched out my hand and pulled her into my arms. “It hurts.”
“Compared with the sadness in my heart, this pain is nothing.”
“Do you really care about what those people say?”
“What I care about is that they wronged me. In those years when my father took the blame, others always poked my spine and said that I was the daughter of a black-hearted designer. I really hate being wronged and hate it very much. Today, it wasn’t me, but they said I scalded Flora because they saw me take the baking pan away from Flora. If I really want to hurt her, why should I help her take the baking pan away? But why does everyone only believe a small part of the facts they saw?”
“Because they are narrow-minded.” Seeing that she is rarely so clever, I reached out and stroked the loose hair behind her head.
Krista didn’t move. “But why should I take the blame for their superficiality?”
“I won’t let you take the blame.”
She just asked, “Where’s Flora? Is she awake?”
“Not yet, Flora’s body is already a little weak, and she will be unconscious for a day every time she has a fever.”
Krista’s POV
My heart is heavy, and now only Flora can help me prove my innocence. But if Flora really moved the baking tray herself… Thought of here, I felt surprised in a cold sweat.
If Flora really moved the baking pan, maybe her purpose is to make people all over the world regard me as a bad person? I couldn’t help shivering with an aversion to the cold.
Cheney drooped his eyes slightly. “Why, is it cold?”
I recovered and shook my head. “If… I mean if even Flora said that I really hurt her, would you still choose to trust me?”
“How can you have such strange concerns?”
I frowned. No, this concern is not surprising at all. In that situation, it was the only possibility I could think of.
“I…” Before I could say anything, his cell phone rang.
I stop talking. Seeing that I stopped talking, he took out his mobile phone and took a look at it. “It’s Uncle Jacob,” he said to me.
He picks up his phone. “Uncle Jacob, it’s me. Okay, I’ll take Krista back.”
He put down his cell phone and said to me, “Flora is awake. Let’s go back together and let her clear your name.”
He took my wrist and left.
I stood in his way and said urgently, “You haven’t answered me yet. If Flora really said that I did this, would you still choose to believe me?”
He pinched my cheek and smiled speechlessly. “I believe you.”
“Really?”
He nodded seriously. “I believe you because you won’t lie to me.”
I’m still very upset in my heart. However, Cheney’s trust is like a shot in the arm for me. If Cheney chooses to believe in Flora, then I will never stay with him. No matter he uses force to stay with him, I won’t stay.
I got into Cheney’s car, we went back to the Fischer’s mansion and came to Flora’s room. Flora is a little weak because she has just used an anesthetic.
Seeing us, she whispered, “Cheney, Miss Krista, you look worried.”
Cheney said, “How are you?”
“Good… much better, there is no pain after the previous car accident operation, you can rest assured.”
Cheney looked back at me and then asked Flora, “What happened just now? The both of you made snacks, why did that happen?”
Flora was worried and asked, “Miss Krista, are you hurt too?”
I stretched out my bandaged hands and sipped my lips. “I only hurt my hand, it’s nothing.”
She frowned. “It must be very painful. I’m sorry. I wanted to help you at that time. I didn’t expect it, but it hurt you.”
“Help me?” I’m a little puzzled.
She nodded, “I saw that half of your body was attached to the operating table, and it was very close to the baking tray. I was afraid that the baking tray just came out of the oven would burn you, so I pulled the baking tray aside. But at that time, I also ignored the temperature of the baking tray. When I felt hot, my hand shook, and I accidentally smashed the baking tray on myself. Because I was in a wheelchair, all the baking trays fell on me impartially.”
I looked at Flora and felt a little annoyed. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be like this. For a moment, I only feel that I am a villain.
I said guiltily, “Flora, I’m sorry, but if it weren’t for my protection, you wouldn’t have been hurt.”
“Don’t say that, I am fine when I do things. You see, I meant well, but I not only hurt myself but also brought trouble to you.”
I exhaled. “At that time, you looked at me and said, ‘You…’ Is there anything you want to say to me?”
“I want to ask if are you all right, but my health is so bad that I fainted.”
The truth came out. I breathed a sigh of relief. I just want to live a simple life, and I really don’t want to tear it with anyone.
Just now, because of my grievances, I even thought that if Flora lied, I would spare no effort to defend myself. But now it seems that my worries are really superfluous.
Cheney and Rashad are right. Flora is very kind. No wonder that the Fischer family likes her so much.
