Cheney’s POV
Looking at Krista’s back, I sighed.
Flora looked at me. “Cheney, you don’t look very well, are you… I came to you all of a sudden, and you are unhappy.”
I smiled. “No, I’m a little tired these days. I want to rest early. Flora, you should go back to rest early.”
Flora looked at me with a pitiful look in her eyes. “Cheney, tonight, I want to sleep in the Jade Court.”
She nibbled at the corner of her lip. “Is my room… still there?”
I looked at her. If Flora stayed here, Krista would have nowhere to sleep tonight.
I hesitated for a moment and said, “Flora, I’m sorry, a lot has happened in the past four years. Your room, I changed it into Afra’s bedroom. Afra, a child, never likes people to touch her things, so you have to go back to your own room to sleep.”
Flora looked at me with sadness in her eyes. “Yes, four years… for you, many, many things have happened, but for me, it is just a dream. These days, I occasionally wake up at night, thinking of all the things I did four years ago. Four years ago, it was your past, but it was only yesterday for me.”
I walked up to her, squatted down and looked at her. “Flora, don’t entertain foolish ideas, you were only ill once, and now that you have woken up, everything will be fine.”
“But… Now you are all strange in front of me. I always feel… this dream will make me lose a lot. I am afraid, Cheney. This fear in my heart will not come true, will it?”
I was silent for a moment. How can I tell her that some roads have diverged and there is no turning back?
“Flora, give yourself some time, and then try to start accepting this new world. People always have to look forward, don’t you think?”
She frowned slightly and then smiled. “Well, it’s getting late, Cheney. You go to bed early, and I’ll go back to sleep and have a good dream.”
“Okay,” I got up and looked at the nurse behind me. “Send Miss Flora back to rest.”
Flora’s POV
Out of the Fischer’s mansion, I was pushed back to my residence.
Dad was waiting anxiously at the door. When he saw me coming back, he was busy welcoming me. “Flora, where have you been to? Dad is anxious.”
I smiled. “Dad, don’t worry, I just went to the Jade Court.”
“You went to the Jade Court?” He squatted down and frowned. “Why did you go there again?”
“Dad, why are you so nervous? Didn’t I often go to the Jade Court before?”
My father looked at me, was silent for a moment and then said, “That’s not what I meant. I just thought, it’s so late, Miss Afra may be asleep. Will it affect her if you go?”
I sipped my lips. “Afra won’t sleep at the Jade Court tonight. I just met Afra’s tutor and went to the Jade Court to help her get her math workbook.”
“You said Miss Krista.”
“Yeah,” I nodded with a harmless smile on my face. “By the way, Dad, why didn’t you tell me that the room Cheney reserved for me in the Jade Court has become Afra’s room? I wanted to stay in the Jade Court tonight, but Cheney said that my room became Afra’s room, and I was so embarrassed.”
“Oh… I forgot for a while,” Dad held my hand and said, “In the past four years, the Jade Court has changed a lot. When you go to the Jade Court again in the future, you can’t be as unruly as before. Always tell the aunts over there to let the young master know, Okay?”
“Dad,” I looked up at him, “I don’t know why, I always feel that Cheney standing in front of me is not the Cheney four years ago, is it an illusion after I got sick, or… he really changed?”
I looked at my father, trying to find the answer from his eyes.
Dad’s eyes dodged for a while before saying, “After all, after four years, some things will change.”
“Just now, Cheney told me the same thing, but Dad, I am really scared. If… if Cheney really changed, what’s the point of me waking up?”
Dad held my hand tightly. “Don’t say that, do you know how happy Dad is when you wake up? Dad once prayed to God, as long as he can make you wake up, even if I die, I am willing. Just for the sake of your old father, you should also promise your father that no matter what happens in the future, you should cherish your hard-won new life, Okay? ”
“Dad, what can you say… Cheney, did he change?” I looked at dad with some doubts.
With my father’s knowledge of Cheney, he can’t avoid my question just now.
Why is… the feeling of uneasiness so strong.
Dad was busy looking at the surroundings then seaid, “Young master, of course he will not change, you are the one that does not understand the young master, I was scared by what you just said. You said that waking up is  meaningless, don’t say that again in the future, you hear?”
I nodded, thinking a lot, but there was no expression on my face. “Dad, I want to sleep.”
“Okay. I will push you into the house.”
Something is wrong. It’s really wrong. I could feel it.
Cheney’s actions, Dad’s reactions, and the careful appearance of the servants all told me that the Fischer’s mansion has changed, Dad has changed, and Cheney has changed.
But this change makes me feel very unusual.
This is not the world I know, it really is not.
Cheney’s POV
I stood in the courtyard and called Krista.
But I already called twice and no one answered.
The aunt in the room ran out with Krista’s mobile phone. “Master, Mrs. Fischer’s mobile phone is at home.”
This woman doesn’t bring her cell phone when she goes out.
I put down my cell phone directly and went out to find someone.
When passing by the lake, I saw a dark figure lying on the fence of the pavilion in the moonlight from a distance.
I approached intuitively, and it was really her.
My footsteps didn’t catch her attention. I came to her and bent slightly, only to find that she was asleep.
I took off my coat and put it on her.
This silly woman, the autumn wind is so cold, she can even sleep here.
I picked her up sideways.
Feeling the warmth, she naturally buried her face in my chest.
I was tickled by her rub in my heart. At this moment, I only listened to her gibberish that seemed to wake up. “Cheney.”
“Hmm?” I gave a gentle answer.
But she has no following words.
I frowned. “What do you want me to do?”
Her hands reached on my neck, “Nothing, just want to call you to confirm.”
I raised my lips. “In this Fischer’s mansion, who else besides me will come out to pick up stray kittens like you?”
She didn’t say anything. I looked down and saw the woman… fell asleep again.
How sleepy she is.
